GE Money Bank

Susan of Warren, MI August 3, 2009

I have been harrased by their collectors since February/March of this year. They call 4 or 5 times a day even on Sunday. This better not hurt my credit rating. All this nonsense and their constant calls have been creating a lot of stress for me.

Albert of Brandon, MS August 3, 2009

GE Money Bank changes my due date from month to month. I financed a camper with GE Money Bank a couple of years ago. My due date was the 25th of each month. In the past several months, my due has changed each month. My statement shows a due date ONE day prior to the date the payment is applied which makes my payment ONE day late each month which costs me 39.00 late fee.

I called GE Money Bank (several times before I got to talk to someone)about this matter and was told that my due date changes because of the number of days in the month. They even charge a 10.00 fee if you pay by telephone. They have no web site which allows you to contact them. I have never been late with a payment as I send it in about 10 days prior to the due date and they keep changing the date.

Debra of Jonesboro, , GA August 1, 2009

I open an account with Peach Direct financed by GE Money Bank in August 2007 and purchase a laptop for my daughter because she was going to college. In December, I added a watch to the purchase. Total bill was around 1500.00 I now owe 1579.88 after 2 years. I called and ask that the interest be lowered and I was told I could join their hardship plan with no interested added for 7 months. During this time I was doubling payments and the bill stayed around the same amount. I was being charged interest at a lower cost plus another fee which did not reduced my bill at all. Now I am paying an interest of 26.99%. Finance charge of 33.95. I owe more now than I did two years ago. These people are a rip-off. I could have paid for my laptop and watch twice over by now. Recently, I found out that my walmart account is through GE Money bank as well. I can't believe Walmart will do business with such type of people. I have no problem paying my bills but when do I get to pay this off. When I refuse to pay, I am constantly harassed 3 or 4 times a day. GE Money Bank you SUCKS!!! I would like to settle this once and for all.

JOHN of CLERMONT, FL July 29, 2009

I bought 3979.95 worth of furniture at La z boy. They asked how I wanted to pay for it and stated there would be no intrest if I payed on time. I didn't want to take the money out of my IRA so I opted to pay on time.Big mistake. I called them to ask when I started paynents and where to send them, how much the payments were and the account number. I was told I couldn't recive my account number over the phone for security reasons.fortunatly,I recieved a statment with the account number on it on 1/13/09 and had my bank make monthly payments, which they did.

Five months later I get a letter with a check for 715.00 stating I requested a credit balance refund, which I didn't and to call if I had any questions.I called and was told I didn't owe any money to this account. I called and asked to talk to a supervisor and was told I had not made a payment one to my account and I would have to pay intrest on the whole amount.I then made a bank check for 3121.95,added the check, unsigned and uncashed for 715.00 and my last payment totaling 3979.95 and sent it to them registered mail with return receipt.I then received a statement omiting the 715.00 check.

I wrote another letter on 6/29/09 and told them I was canceling my account and asked where the check was. On 7/3/09 I recieved a letter stating they couldn't make any changes unless I dalled them. I called and a Charmaine (no last name) told me I would have to see if the check had been cashed. I called today and was told I had chashed the check and that I now owe 1112.83 as stated on the statement I recieved today 7/29/09.

I am a 76 year old man and have never reneged on a debt. My credit score on 1/28/09 , when I bought my car, was 820. I am not paying them again for something I don't owe.

Barbara of Moorpark, CA July 29, 2009

My PayPal MasterCard via GE Money Bank is charging me for bogus items I did not receive get or order!! Charges are totaling 500+. I have submitted proof of this scam. Was told to cancel card and have it reissued while they investigated. nothing was done by them! The charges remain. Caused a health care payment to bounce due to the changed card. I have spent hours listing, writing letters, trying to contact companies, etc., This has cause great emotional stress.

Sam of Colorado Springs, CO July 27, 2009

Recently I started to close credit card accounts because we were purchasing a home, a second home I might add. During this process I discovered that GE Money Bank was the holder of over 17 of my credit cards, all of which I was closing. I also noticed that GE had reduced all my credit limits to below 200.00 and had NEVER sent me a notice. I was exasperated. Today I discovered my WalMart is held by them, so today, I will close that one. I refuse to deal with GM Money Bank. They are also rude and inconsiderate on the phone.

melvin of sherman oaks, CA July 26, 2009

GE MONEY BANK keeps billing me on a monthly basis for hearing aids which I never bought. I have had the hearing aids on a trial basis and have returned them as unsatisfactory. I have called them to explain and I hve sent them proof of the return. They still persist in billing me.

Denise of Lilly, PA July 23, 2009

I made a payment for 27.00 on 6/26/2009 and it was returned by bank. Called bank and said they would wait and pay it if it is returned. Sent a second payment in for 72.19 which cleared with no problems. Paying on account since 1/09 with no problems. Ge money bank has reviewed the recent history on walmart account. Claims account is being closed because of the number of dishonered check payments has reach an unacceptble level closing credit line. Their was only ONE check ever returned, not many as claimed by them.

Suzanne of Morris Plains, NJ July 22, 2009

I received two letters from GE Money Bank in the past two weeks telling me that they are closing accounts that actually have 0 balances on them, because of Trades with Delinquency in the past 12 months or Trades opened in the last 24 months. Not exactly sure what this means but although I dont care about closing empty accounts, it will effect my credit rating. I went ahead and closed any remaining accounts that I have with GE Money Bank before they get a chance to do anything further to me. I am seeing from other people that this is apparently a wide spread problem and something I think that needs to be dealt with.

Katherine of Oroville, CA July 22, 2009

Account first set up, contacted them to change pmt date and amount. Two months later GE Collections called stating I was two months behind. I formed them of the change, said it didn't matter. Which ironically, I will never be able to be current or receive the no interest finance fees, etc. Main issue I have is that the have a Private Policy, which states, to protect my account privacy, they can not provide account information to anyone other that the cardholders or an authorized party. My mother is the other name on this account. Today (07-22-09)is the second time someone from their company, discuss the entire history of my account with my mother's husband. He is not on the policy or been authorized to receive any information.

I called them trying to complain. Every department I was connected to offered an apology and preceeded to talk about the bill. Also, was told that the could talkto the spouse. I quoted them part of their stmt, that they have to be given authorization in writing before doing so.(printed on every bill) I insisted to speak with a supervisor or some who can assist me, because I wanted to know what right they had to disclose my information. I was put on hold and after 5 minutes, disconnected.
