Consumer Complaints & Reviews

On August 2,2011, I had an accident happen. My van, a Sienna red, rolled over on Millet Avenue, where the police called a tow truck. They towed my vehicle to storage. When the accident happened, I couldn't get my purse and my Armani Exchange sunglasses out. I have $225 inside my purse.

On August 3, 2011, my husband drove to the tow truck storage to get my van. When he was there, he couldn't find my purse. One guy who worked inside the storage, showed my husband where my purse was. When my husband opened the purse only $85 was left, someone took $140 in my purse and the sunglasses was also gone. I'm so sad, I cannot believable your employee will do that.

I bought a bank-owned home in October of 2008. I made some improvements to it (redid two bathrooms, installed 36" range and hood, and installed appliances which were removed from the house) and all the repairs it needed (new roof, new gutters, new soffit, rehabbed the pool, and repaired water damage in two rooms). I felt comfortable that I could now remove PMI since I had put a lot of work and money into the house.

So, I went through my lender provident funding. Reevaluating the PMI, I required a BPO to be ordered. I paid the money for the BPO and it came back with the fact that the house was now worth less money than when I had purchased it. I only wanted the value to increase by about 10% so I could remove the PMI. Now, I pay taxes at a level of $468k, and the bank tells me that the house is worth $200.5k, which is less than the $236k that I paid for it. Home price estimates from all websites and realtors come back all above $375k.

Since I had the right to get a copy of the BPO, I requested it. I was shocked to find out that they had used comparables from two towns away. Some of the properties had less than 1/4 acre, and there was a note in the BPO that property size is not a significant factor. The town I live in is very desirable (much more so than the town they chose for comparables) and 1 acre lots sell for over $200k, so the argument did not seem valid. I protested the BPO and the response was that they found no irregularities. This was on top of the fact that I showed land prices and comparables from my town which were much higher in value.

I could get no response from the company, so I filed a complaint with the BBB. The BBB also got no response and suggested a small claims case. All I wanted was a fair analysis of the value of the house in order to remove PMI. What I got was a biased report showing the value had dropped over 15%.
