Consumer Complaints & Reviews

The Federal Modification Group approached me in May 2010, to modify my home loan in sixty days, for a fee of $2,000.00. After sixty days were over and nothing happened, it became difficult to find someone to ask, and even if you found someone, he/she would say they are new, and would find out about the case and call us. This never happened. After several months, I asked my bank if they have seen my case. They said that my case was denied, because the group couldn't provide them with the required documents on time. I complained to the president of the company, but he never replied to my letter. I sent another complaint via certified mail, but he refused to take it, and it came back to me without being opened. Now, it has been about one and a half years that I have been filing complaints everywhere, but no result. I am not the only one. There are many other people who share my fate. As far as I am concerned, I will not stop complaining to any source I can find, until I get my refund.

During October 2010, I was contacted by and individual who indicated he was from Federal Modification Group. I was told that I could modify my current loan. I began the procedure of modifying my loan by "processing paperwork" and paying a monetary fee of $1250. Approximately one month later, I had received nothing from the company. They did not send me any paperwork and did not call or attempt to contact me in any manner. When I contacted the company, I was told the sales person I was working with no longer works for the company. I was informed that my file was being handled by someone else. I was informed that my file was in review and to wait a few weeks. Approximately December 13 2010, after a few weeks had passed, I again called Federal Modification Group. At this time, I was told that my paperwork was not on file and I should re-send the papers.

Approximately one week later, December 20, 2010, I called the company again to see if they had received my paperwork. This time I kept getting transferred. I repeatedly was transferred to a blank voicemail. Since I was being ignored and no one would honestly address my questions and concerns, I then started calling 2 to 3 times a week and leaving messages. No one acknowledged my calls to Federal Modification Group and no one replied. On January 21, 2011, I called the company and was transferred to "the supervisor".

He told me my paperwork just went in for review. Because my calls were being ignored and I felt the company was hardly dealing in good faith with me, I asked that my money ($1250.00) be refunded to me. I was told that I could not have a refund. I explained that I was dissatisfied with the service. He stated he couldn't do anything about the service and that I could not have a refund simply because I didn't like how things were going. In my conversation, I questioned the time it was taking to process the papers. He stated he has nothing to do with that. Since January 2011, I have not heard from the company. My payment of $1250.00 was already processed yet they have made no attempt to contact me about completing the re-modification for my loan. I contacted my current mortgage company to see if Federal Modification Group had been in contact with them.

My mortgage company (GMAC) stated that Federal Modification Group had not contacted them. Once again, on March 2, 2011, I contacted Federal Modification Group to see if I could have my account number. To date, I have not received a response from Federal Modification Group. I want the payment I gave to Federal Modification Group returned (refunded) to me. They falsely advertised and they took my money, never providing any service to me. They did not render any services to me; my loan has not been modified and I am out $1250.00.

I was promised that they would be able to modify my home mortgage. And if for any reason they were unable to get a lower interest rate, they would refund my money in full ($3,500). After we received the information in the mail 5 days later, it said nothing about a refund. And they wanted all our personal information. We gave them nothing. But since we charged the $3,500 to a credit card, we are still working with the bank for a full refund. No one at Federal Modification will return calls. And most of the time, they won't answer the phone unless you say you are calling to get information about the modification process. This is a huge scam.
