I back in 2003 coborrowed from them so mypartner could have a home for him and his kids we own the same business. after 3 years countrywide told me i could come off the loan when he had to remortgage, they came to our shop i again veriftyed that at some point i wanted to buy my own home and wanted off this home i did not live in it. the representative that came out told me i needed to cosign agian or he would loose his house or the rate would increase, i cosigned i then in 2008 went for my own loan and got it both the countrywide new representative and myself were undet the understanding i was a co borrower and what she told me to do was make sure that my partner paid the mortgage from his account and that after 6 months to a year we could get me off the loan, i have been struggling to remove myself from this loan and he cannot remortgage it due to disability at this time. i have been paying his and my mortgage i have pleaded with countrywide to at least lower the monthly payment so i did not loose both and ruin my credit. i have attempted many mortgage offers and have gotten no reply yet i am constantly called on this property wen he does not meet the payment they are rude and demanding my mortgage is 1600;00 his is know 1200.00 we own the same business which is just about surviving due to his illness i am trying to get him disabilityl i am called daily by countrywide and know bank of america i only recently and was shocked found out that i am the owner and my partner is the co borrower when i called the representative he stated that he doesn't know how that happened sent a fax over and stated is that your signature i said yes and said hold on i have a witness to this i am not the owner only a borroweer. i have never had any good luck with the countrywide have been lied to and at this time my own bills have to be paid before his. i cannot believe that they switched this on me and feel something should be done. helen desantis at countrywide has tried to help me and is just asappalled by this hole mess. at this time she is the only one from the countrywide that did not screw up a loan my homw loan was smooth and well prepared i was told eveything the one for my partner countrywide lawyers and they handled so in plain english i was screwed by them

June of Raymore, MO April 27, 2009

We have been trying to work with these people since January and left hand doesn't know what right hand is doing.

Some people say we don't qualify then we are told we are still in review - they misapplied a payment and everything snow-balled from there.

There is no one person you can talk to about your account. You can't go into any office and talk face to face with someone. No one cares. Stay away.

Elven Mitchell of Modesto, CA April 27, 2009

After becoming yet another victim of unemployment due to a struggling economy spurred largely by mortgage company greed and bureaucracy, I too have had the pleasure of being given the run-around by Countrywide. All the same excuses you read in the 1,000's of posts on countless pages.

The Feds gave our tax money to these leeches to help modify our loans, and they are not; so let's file our complaints with the agency that has the authority and responsibility to do something about it.

Terry of Simi Valley, CA April 27, 2009

We are still not getting any satifaction from our dealings with CountryWide (which is now Bank of America). They now say they will not modify loans under the President's Home Affordable Program for anyone who has lost their job. The people the program was designed to help. We all need to complain. Consumer affairs. com is a great website for all of us to learn that we are not alone. We all need to complain to The Comptroller of the Currency as well. They are the agency in Washington that regulates CountryWide. They have a great website. Post a complaint there as well and if enough people do, they will have to act.

Judy of Crosby, TX April 25, 2009

We were having financial problems and were behind on our property tax. Countywide paid our property tax without even consulting with us. Then, sent a letter to collect 10,000. upfront on our loan. We called and explainned we could not do that. Okay---pay us 100. extra for now until we can work this out. For 7 months we did this. Then in Jan. we received a letter from them that a foreclosure was set for May 5th. Again we called to see if we could refinance our loan. We had a credit card mark against us so they would not even talk to us about refinance. We then hired a mediator for our loan and things were going okay when my husband was layed off. So, everything stopped.

We put the house up for sale trying to at least get some of our money back. Well, no luck so far. Then, I found out that I could apply for a reverse mortgage. But, we have only had the house 2 1/2 yrs. so we came up short about 20,000. My bank and Fannie Mae said to ask them to negotiate on the 20,000. Fannie Mae said the Countrywide was able to do that and should. Well, again, I call them. Nope! They could not do a reverse mort. for us. We were short on the amount. And, they told me they would rather take a chance on the auction and losing money than to negotiate with us so we could do the reverse mortgage. I would not send anyone to them. What about the money they were given by the government that is for helping people like us.

In foreclosure and unemployed. Does anyone hear us or care about us. I bet their Ceo and board members got their bonuses. All they have to do is knock off 20,000. and do the reverse mortgage. No luck. I was told by Fannie Mae to report them to the FTC. The Federal Trade Commission. So, I will. There seems to be no one in that Company that knows anything. It is rediculous the run around I have been given.

Maria of Miami, FL April 24, 2009

After more than 1000 calls to Country Wide had been imposible talk with a live person. We need a modification on our loan payments. My husband is retired and I still working but my husband lost his part-time job. President Obama said they are going to help everybody to stay in their homes. We are current with the payments but pretty soon we are going to start missing payments. Please help! Loosing the house.

Charles of Niceville, FL April 24, 2009

Since the first of the year I am have problems with countrywide/Bank of America posting my mortgage payments on time. I send in my payments weeks in advance and they are not posted against my account. They say they are lost in the mail but when I make an online payment both the online payment and mailed in payment are posted against the account. It appears when Bank of America took over countrywide their account department or mail handling department suffered greatly. I have been recently charged late fees for a mortgage payment that again was mailed weeks in advance.

In my opinion if you have a mortgage originally with Countrywide Bank that is now with Bank of America, an online payment is only one safe way to make a payment and have it posted in a timely manner. Personally I would not recommend getting a mortgage with Countrywide through Bank of America.

Elaine of Spartanburg, SC April 24, 2009

I am a single woman age 62 and financed my house originally with Decision One Mortgage Company LLC on 10-02-2006. I was making a payment of 800.00. AN adjustable rate mortgage. With a baloon in 2 years. With a interest rate of 9.17. First Decision said if I made my payments on time and did not get any other credit in 2 years I could refinance and get my mortgage interest cut lower. The mortgage company sold it to Country Wide and now my payment is 1053.00. with an interest rate of 11.25.

I have tried to refinance with Country wide and have been held in limbo for months. They kept saying, the underwriters say I qualify, and six months later say they can't give me a mortgage. I am just a state worker bringing home 651.32 every two weeks. I have used all my resourses and now I find I can not go on like this. It has gotten to the point there is not enough left over for food. Unless there is something you can tell me to do, I will have to give up my home and start over. I have always had my own home and I have one son who is forty and I would never ask him for help. I have taught him to take care of himself with proper schooling and hard work. Can you give me any options?

Don of Clovis, CA April 23, 2009

I have attempted to contact this company on more than one occasion to get a credit card charge reversed. I have spoken to a Jeffery T., Sonya (Unknown last name); Jessica (Unknown last name), Shirley (Unknown last name), Bradley (Unknown last name); Natasha (Unknown last name). I have several phones numbers I have been asked to call, for Natasha, a "branch" office, the re-finance department, Jeffery's number, and last (but not least) K. Hickman (which you cannot get past the computer phone answering machine. This company has more layers of bureacracy than the federal government. The only thing I'm trying to do is reverse a charge on my credit card. I should have read the over 250 pages of consumer complaints against this company before even considering a refinance. Now, I'm on the hook for 450 that I cannot seem to get reversed.
