After filing my taxes and paying for their "free service", I was finally allowed to print the 1040 portion of my filing. However, you are not allowed access to any of the supporting information that you used to file the 1040 such as your schedule A. Therefore, you are prevented from accessing and viewing your complete tax documents that you need to keep on file in case of an audit. This should be illegal and certainly shouldn't be supported, offered and recommended on the IRS official website
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

The IRS should not list them as free. You cannot print your complete return. I contacted support and explained that when I attempted to print their system does not allow you to print complete return. Consumer is stuck without a complete return. You end up filing again. When I contacted support their reply was do not contact them again.

On March 3rd 2009 I e-filed my 2008 Federal Tax return with this on line tax company. I paid their fee and they filed the return. Unknown to me there was a problem with the return. They filed it on 3-8-09 and were notified by the IRS that there was problem on the same day 3-8-09. No notice was sent to me although they had my email and home address including my phone number. I found out there was a problem when my wife and I became curious as to why we had not received our tax refund. Today 4-19-09 I returned to CitizenTaxFree.com after checking with the IRS on line to check up on my return. To find out the IRS had no information on my return ever being filed.
I contacted CitizenTaxFree.com by email and will attach the reply here. As soon as the IRS responds to your return's submission, it is posted on the check a return status page. Your error codes are the result of entering an incorrect prior year PIN (Personal Identification Number) or prior year Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) amount when attempting to use the Electronic Signature Method for signing your return....If your return was submitted by April 15, 2009 and accepted by the IRS your date of acceptance may be posted after April 15th, but it does not mean you did not make a timely filing. If your return was submitted on or before April 15, 2009 and rejected by the IRS, it must be corrected, resubmitted and accepted no later than April 20, 2009 to be considered a timely filing by the IRS. However, you are able to submit your return through mid-October 2009 for the 2008 tax year via e-file. Interest and penalties may accrue for returns not accepted by April 15th or 20th, as applicable....
I am sure that I will be charge a late fee and penalty.
