Susan of Clifton NJ (11/18/08)
First, someone from this department lied to me and told me my account wasn't even a Bank of America account. I knew it was a lie because I had spoken to someone previously, regarding my account and they told me they were from Bank of Amercica. I asked to have my interest lowered because I heard on the news that some executives from Bank of America were receiving 250,000 dollar bonuses. I figured if they could afford to pay that much in bonuses they should be able to afford to lower my interest rate by a few percentage points.

Both Chase and Citibank lowered rates for me previously. Bank of America refused to do it for me. This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with, and I have been dealing with banks for over 40 years. First, how rediculous to lie to me. Next, why not honor my request as two other major banks had done. This rediculous interest rate is causing me economic damage.

I had a 35,000 credit line and a 20,000 credit card with B of A. 9 months ago the line was maxed but I sent them a few thousand a month and now the balance is 15,000. I just got a letter from Scott Beech saying they were reducing my line to 19,000. I've never been late. They gave me an 800 number to call if I had any information that I could give them so they could reconsider the decrease.

I called the number and talked to a guy named Danny. He told me it was cause I had been deliquint but when I asked him when I had been late he couldn't find any incidents. So at that moment the should have reconsidered. Nope, basically he told me he had no authority under any circumstance to reverse the decision. When I asked for someone who had the authority he said that there wasn't anybody who could reverse the decision. I told him that if there was never anything anybody could do, that they were wasting my time by giving me a phone number to call with information that they would use to reconsider when there was never the possibility they would reconsider. I want to talk to Scott Beech. The guy who signed the letter I got.

My rate on their card went from 15.9% to 25.9% because they felt my debt ratio was too high. I have not been late on my payments and have always paid more than the min payment. When I questioned why, their response was that they could raise it if they wanted to.

I feel that they are taking advatage of today's economy and trying to make money where ever they can off of who ever they can. My savings acct and checking acct is with Bank of America, I will be moving them to another bank.

I was a credit card customer for a number of years and they jacked up my interest rate out of nowhere and for no reason. I was never late with a payment. I called to find out why and they said a notice had been sent to me explaining that the interest was to be raised. I never received such a notice. When I asked for a reason why the interest rate was going up they said it was due to my credit score. I said that was ridiculous as I had never skipped a payment or paid below the minimum. They told me to check my credit reports. My credit was fine, turned out.

Later I transferred my entire Bank of America balance to a different card and they charged me extra fees! No one could give me a satisfactory explanation as to why except to say it was legal to do so. Their business practices are unethical and repulsive and I will NEVER do business with them again. I paid several hundred extra dollars worth of extra fees due to increase in interest despite paying all my bills on time.

Alison of Columbia, SC November 13, 2008

I had a personal credit card. An employee in the company used this card without my knowledge. I was having problems recieving mail at my home. I still have the problem, the US post office says there is not a problem Therefore I have changed all my bills to come to my office address. I called BAnk of America some 14 times attempting to get a copy of the charge. I could not access the account on line due to the stop put on my account by me. Finally a miracle from BAnk of America they faxed me the charges.

I then knew whom used the card, I [paid] Bank of America in full for the charges immediatly upon recieveing the copy of the charges. However Bank of America kept accruing interest on these charges and has now sent me to a collection agency. Bank of America agrees that they have records of my direct contact with them not the other way around. They also agree that they did not send me the statements in any other method except by mail to my home, which I was not recieving and continually told them this. Prior to this point my account was always paid in full as the charges were paid as I made them.

They have damaged my credit ratings in an attempt to gain monies that are not owed to them. They have racked up long distance calls on my company cell phone in an excess of 213.00 over these months. This money is coming out of my paycheck causing my family financial distress. They are threatening me on the phone and verbally abusive.
