Wanda of Atlanta GA (04/24/08) I filed my taxes on line ... they sent back 8 confirmation notices, one after the other, and charged my credit card 3 times. I have yet to hear from them, my password and user name won't work, I have emailed and called and received no response. I have called and/or emailed everyday since April 15.
Obviously, since it is taxes, they have a lot of personal information and I think this company would engage in identify theft. They surely cannot be legitimate.
Rosie of Houston TX (04/10/08) First let me say before you read any further that you should immediately call the Better Business Bureau and The Federal Trade Commission for Consumer Protection! This company has no business ethics and they contain your personal information. I had just completed my taxes for 2007 using Turbo Tax, and since we are in the process of buying a house, I needed to file for 2006. I googled file for 2006 and filelate.com was one of the sites that came up. I enrolled, payed and submitted my information. 3 days have gone bye and I have heard absolutely nothing from the company. I tried calling the 800 number they provide, but it doesnt work. Do not fall for their scheme that makes it look like they can be easily reached... THEY CANT!
I tried doing the online chat and Elizabeth told me that she would forward the information to a manager and that someone would get back to me. Of course its not true. Elizabeth is probably some old fat man typing from his basement. I had to track the domain name and the company that has been hired as their server and call that company to be able to reach anyone. Once I was physically able to speak with some one, I was upset. I was trying to explain all of the hurdles that I had to go through just to speak with someone and they said Mam if you dont stop talking and let me speak I will hang up on you! UNBELIEVABLE! He went on to explain that they are internet based and that if I wanted to speak with someone about my taxes I should go with another company. I told him that thats fine but in the meantime, they have VERY personal information about me and I have no way of contacting them.
Bottom line, he was EXTREAMLY RUDE! At this point I am concerned that I have mistakenly given my information to some identity thieves. The chat doesnt work, emailing doesnt work and calling doesnt work. I can honestly say I regret ever going tot his site! BUYER BEWARE!
As a result, my taxes are still not files, I have no idea who has my information, I have had to place fraud alert on my bank accounts and have also gone to lifelock.com so that I can have SOME peace of mind after this nightmare!!
Pauline of Calhan CO (02/06/08) I have been trying to get a copy of my 2006 taxes from 24hourrapid refund. I have talked to Samantha, Elizabeth and yesterday to Jacqueline and no one can get me to my 2006 refund. All I want is a copy that I have paid for at $29.97. And they are stalling me from doing my 2007 taxes. I put the order in on 1/25/2008 and to this day I have not received a response. I call the 1800 # and no one ever gets back to me. I email and no one responds. I even have faxed to no avail. How do I get my 2006 taxes from these people?
i cannot do my taxes until I get my 2006 taxes and I need the money bad. I need to pay my utilities and they ready to turn me off.
Ashley of Knoxville TN (01/31/08) I used this service that I found online because it touted 24 hour refund and no credit check on RALs. I filed and my return was accepted on the 14th. My RAL was denied on the 14th, as well, and was told to expect a direct deposit into my bank account by Elizabeth via their online chat service. The IRS deposited my refund into JP Morgan Chase on the 25th, not my account. I called and never got a human--just voice mail. I called many times, then went to the online chat and spoke with Elizabeth again. She told me to call my bank and make sure the deposit was not being held. It wasn't. I then called more times and still got voice mail. I left messages, no answer. I left messages through email, no answer. I then got online chat again and spoke with Samantha. She told me that it is a problem with the IRS and that it will be there on the 31st.
Well, I called the IRS on the 31st to do a trace and was informed that this was deposited into JP Morgan Chase on the 25th. I got online chat with Samantha today and told her that. She responded that Chase will cut me a check in 8 to 14 days and that there is no one that I can talk to about this. In the meantime, my refund of $4k is sitting in a bank account drawing interest, and I am not seeing a bit of that.
I am behind on rent, my car is sitting in my mom's driveway needing to be repaired, I have a one year old baby who needs food and diapers, and we need transportation--and someone else has my money.
Aisha of Walthourville GA (01/28/08) Never got in touch with a real person. It took a week just to update the status of my refund and I'm still waiting on my refund. But guess what I found there real business name is SRG associates and their phone number. When I called them, a real person answered the but they could not give me any answers they just said that they will call me back.
I was really depending on that money for car and house repairs.
Stephanie of Oak Ridge TN (01/17/08) I filed my IRS return with this company because I had used them to do mailed past returns last year and was pleased with the end result. This year I was disgusted and will never return. I'm not sure what the 24 Hour name means. Not one thing I did took 24 hours. I e-filed Jan 11 at 11am and didn't hear one thing back until 8pm Jan 13 and that was to get an accepted status on the page you have to check 1009 times. Jan 15, I got an approved status on the RAL loan through JP Morgan Chase. Between those times, I called that 800# at least 100 times and got the answering service so I emailed. Basically the only result was my venting to a machine because I was never given a return phone call or reply. I did chat with Samantha on Live chat who only made me unhappier when she suggested I be patient. I am not paying this company for patience, I was paying them for 24 hour results. I would have been out of H&R Block the same day with the entire amount or at least a portion, but with this company I can't even get an answer to a question much less a time frame on the amount of money. Finally, today I called the JP Morgan Chase to see when the Approved Loan would make it to my bank and I got the answer of I was denied the RAL due to credit screening and I would get a direct deposit on 1/25/2008, a full 2 weeks after I e-filed a simple 1040, head of household, EIC with 2 kids tax form. Everything I am getting with them for fees, I could have gotten from the IRS for free. They are a very misleading company. I do not find that to possibly be legal.
This company lied to me, they claimed that my status was approved for the RAL Loan through Chase. I have the documentation to prove it, but when I called Chase to see about the date I might get this money, I find that they have actually declined my loan and I will not get the money until 10 days later. My car had to sit in the shop for an extra 10 days. My rent didn't get paid on time. My mother was depending on me to help her out and it made me look stupid when I could have went right down the street to H&R and walked away with the funds. My children have sweated me every single day about this money which triples my anguish over the ordeal. It's just bad business to offer all this tech support that can't support one single question and it is certainly bad business to continue to lie about the status of things. All they ever do is claim technical difficulty and apologize. But they will sure take their fees regardless of how pitiful a job they perform.
Carol of Aurora CO (10/23/07) Filed my 2003 taxes online with 24 Hour Tax Service. They said there would be a link to print my taxes in 2 days. It has been over 1 week. They do not answer the phones and do not respond to the messages or emails I have sent. They did manage to debit my account for the payment of services they have not provided. Is this not illegal?
I have to pay for these taxes to be prepared elsewhere so I can get them in to the IRS as soon as possible.
Patrick of Orlando FL (02/28/07)
I have not receive tax refund money. I am not able to talk to anyone because I always get the anwering machine.
Elizabeth of Cleveland OH (04/12/06) I filed my taxes with this company and they basically dropped off the face of the planet. I had to email 4 times to even get a response back that they did receive the first email. Finally some woman was rude to me on the phone when I asked them to call me and help me through their ridiculous website. I felt that they were not upfront about anything they were doing, how much they were going to charge you and nothing on what to do next. I finally got my files to print, but now they will not contact me to answer my question of where do I send these to?
Andrea of Milford PA (03/11/06) I filed my 2003 taxes online with this site claiming that they are the only online resource for filing past years taxes. They charged me on 2/15/16 $59.98. I waited a few days and never heard from them. I then began the process of trying to contact them to no avail. They do not list a phone number. Online chat is never available and noone answers the numerous emails that I have sent asking for help. I would just like to know if this has been filed.
Brian of Rochester NH (02/23/06) Our 2000 Pontiac Bonnevile has had 3 window regulator failures.
The first one happened July 2005 on the left front door. In September 2005 the left rear window fell down because of a broken window regulator. In October 2005 the right rear window regulator failed causing the glass to drop down while driving. T
his car has air conditioning and the windows are not used much. The rear windows are locked out from being used at the drivers window switch because of a child riding in the back seat. I even offered GM to install these rear window regulators myself if they paid for them. I have noticed numerous complaints on the National Highway Safety Administration website involing Pontiac Bonnevilles and Buick Lesabres about the rear window regulator failures. I believe a national recall should be instituted.
Valerie of Port Saint Lucie FL (02/13/06) I filed with them over 3 weeks ago. My status page says IRS accepted but i called to IRS and there is a delay.. Apparently there are several error messages that have to be handled by 24hourtaxrefund, and I cannot get a hold of anyone to clarify the situation.Their so called on-line chat is not helpful , because they don't respond. I don't know what else to do..
Diane of Detroit MI (02/11/06) I file my taxes online through the website which was 24hourtaxrefund and I can't get any answers with this website. I have save everything and even went back into the website to check over my information that was sent. When this website comes through at the top it also has maxitax.net but I can't seem to pull this up seperately. I need to talk or speak with someone on the phone about my tax refund. I did everything correctly and I would like some answers. I need my refund.
Mark of 29 Palms CA (02/10/06) We filed our 2004 and 2005 taxes with this company and our 2005 year went fine but we are having problems with 2004. After filing for 2004, we received an email that was supposed to have our documents to print, sign and mail out to the IRS. We filed Federal and two states, though the email only contained an attachment for one state and nothing else. We do not get any response via email or "Support Tickets" submitted, though you do get a confirmation that it was received by electronic communication. The phone numbers listed on their website are not working numbers and do not actually connect to any real company. The voicemail prompter for customer support tells you that their mailbox is full and the other numbers to contact their financial department and/or banking institutions do not connect to anyone either.
For immediate assistance, this company offers "Live Chat" with a real person, however when you log on to this live chat, you don't get to talk to anyone. It does say that a person, Kyla, has picked you up into the chat but again, you don't get a response from anyone in this room, (but for some reason you can see that odd and unrelated images are being sent to your PC only in the chat room). Why is this? When you exit from the "Live Chat" you will be asked if you'd like the transcripts from the chat session emailed to you, and you get them sent to you but of course it's only you talking. You can see from their survey that there isn't one person satisfied with their so called Live Chat or customer assistance.
Pauline of Pottsville PA (02/09/06) On January 19, 2006 I filed my federal taxes, I received one email saying thank you for using their service. It is now Feb 9, 2006 and I haven't heard anything from them, I checked my status everday it started out as Submitted, then a day later it said rejected by IRS, I never received and email saying why it was rejected. I called and left a message and no one got back to me. Yet I still waited, a week later my status was IRS accepted, so I wanted another week and nothing. So I called the IRS and they informed me that my return was never filed, that I would have to re file it. And that's exactly what I did today, once I called again and it said the mailbox was full. I feel ripped off. I read everything on their site, and allowed enough time and not even one response to my numerous emails.
Geri of Manalapan NJ (02/02/06) I filed my income tax with 24hourtaxrefund.com. They assured speedy refund service for a small fee. I paid extra money to have rapid refund as well as overnight fees and the normal filing fee. I checked with the IRS a few weeks later and found that they had released my refund to the bank that 24hourtaxrefund.com works with and they told me they send them my money. I have left about 5 voicemails for this company as well as several emails, they have no person to talk to live.
They advertise a live chat person via the internet but no one ever answers. I am not even sure if these people are going to give me my refund money and if i should by some miracle receive it...they charged me $129...to receive it a week LATER than the irs would have sent it to me..and that's their fee..the bank they use charged me their own fees as well.
Rita of Angola NY (02/01/06) I submitted my return on January 23, it is now February 1. Their system continuously says "submitted." Out of frustration, I logged onto irs.gov to see my status - it was "approved". I was to receive my deposit (according to the IRS) on February 1. I have yet to receive anything from these people. They will probably try to charge me bank fees - I do not want to pay them as they did not deliver as promised. They prey upon customers who need their money in a hurry. I am very cross about this.
I have yet to receive my refund, which is in excess of $1000.
Marco And Emily of Oklahoma City OK (01/30/06) Sent my w-2 info on the 16th. Company promised to be the fastest refund out there "BAR NONE" and it got to the irs on the 23rd and no one is ever there to answer my questions. My refund was delayed by 5-7 days and who knows if I will ever get it no one has called me back or reply to any e-mails
Greg of Ofallon MO (01/26/06) I filed my 2004 tax return. I have been waiting for a copy emailed to me. So I called the company to find out where it is. So then I tried their "live chat" and still got no response. Multiple messages have been left and still no answer.
Christine of Somerset NJ (09/28/05) I submitted my tax return through their system 10 days ago. To this date there is NO information on the status. It is simply blank, not even showing "submitted". The site advertises that your refund will be received within 24 hours of filing. To this date, 10 days later, there is NO information on the status. Very disappointing.
This money was to be used for a house closing on October 5. Now I will have to scramble to come up with what would have been my refund through RAL.
Natasha of Grand Bay AL (04/12/05) At the end of completing my taxes, I got disconnected and have not been able to get back on, but the main problem is that I paid for my states MS & AL to be done, they took the money from my taxes to do my state and also to get a disk with all of the information on it. It was completed on 2/2/05 and today is 4/12/05 and I have yet heard from them, I do not know how much I owe or what I will get back from state, I have not been informed about anything on my state, it has been paid for and done, I am almost out of time and I do not know what to do. There is no phone number to contact these people I am at a stand still. Federal money I received the next day but have nothing from state no paper work or anything.
Charvonne of Phila PA (03/22/05) i filed my taxes and the expenses that they charge for processing my taxes was taken out of my account but i haven't seen any further information on my taxes its been about a month and several weeks and i have yet to receive any money or notification that there still reviewing my claim. i ve been very patient but now im beginning to get very disturbed about the whole issue.
They retrieved money out of my account but haven't deposited any in. which now caused my bank to overdraft money that was supposed to be there within 24 hours . That's what i paid them to do but alll they did was take my money.
Cristina of Felton PA (02/19/05) I was looking to file my taxes on-line to get my refund fairly quickly so that i could use my refund to pay for a new starter for my car. I filed my taxes on February 12, 2005 expecting my refund in no more then 48 hours as advertised. I waited and kept checking my status online i was irs approved in less then 24 hours, however, i kept getting the same info from the 13th of february through the 17th banks status stil being processed.I made a phone call on the 17th to check on my refund and they told me i would have it no later then the next day if i didnt have it then i should call them back. I have waited almost a week, today february 19, i tried to log onto the web site and it is no longer an available web site and i still have not received my refund.

I have been unable to get my car fixed and my son has missed several appointments and also school because i was unable to get my car fixed due to the promise of a 48 hour refund that to date i still have not received. My car plays a critical part in my family i ma single parent and i rely on that to get me to work, my son to preschool and also for it to be available to take my son to appointments for his seizure disorder plus the many other appointments my other two children have.
The company responds:
At 24Hourtaxrefund.com, we let our customers know that they can have their refund in as little as 24 hours from the point of IRS and bank acceptance. Our system immediately submitted Cristina's efile to the IRS and the bank. This is all we do and are very good at it. In Cristina's case, the IRS quickly approved the return in question, but the service bank needed extra time to approve the application and that is what caused the unusual delay.
We can never guarantee that a bank will extend credit. We can only facilitate that process. We are working for the client and not the bank. If it were up to us, every one of our customers would get approved. As things stand, we get hundreds of thousands of customers approved. We sympathize with Cristina, and wish we had the ability to have 100% acceptance. A small percentage of customers do not get approved in a timely manner. These circumstances are outlined prior to submission and fully disclosed.
Additionally, our website experienced heavy traffic on 2/19 and this caused slow site page loading, leading Cristina to believe that our site was no longer available. This issue should not occur again.
Jamie of Taylor Ridge IL (2/19/05):
After filing a tax refund with the website www.24hourtaxrefund.com. I waited 48 hours and still no word on the status of my refund which was supposed to be direct deposited within 2 days. It appears now that their website is no longer available and I am questioning whether or not my return was even filed with the IRS. When I check the hotline for return status there is no return that matches my SSN.
The fees are much more than advertised and the service is much slower than expected. A much better option would be to direct file with the IRS for free.
The company responds:
At 24Hourtaxrefund.com, we let our customers know that they can have their refund in as little as 24 hours from the point of IRS and bank acceptance. However, these times vary per return. As for our fees, they are fully disclosed on our site and vary based on the services and products you select. Our fees are actually lower than H&R Block, Turbo Tax and all major competitors. Additionally, our website experienced heavy traffic on 2/19 and this caused slow site page loading, leading Jamie to believe that our site was no longer available. This issue should not occur again.
Jennifer of Wheeling IL (1/24/05):
On 01/19/2005 I was looking to file my taxes and came across www.24hourtaxrefund.com. They promised to be a "quick refund" company and told me that my refund would be available the next day after I filed with them if my return was accepted. I understood all of the fees and I was willing to pay them to have my tax return within a reasonable amount of time. Being that I had a feeling we were getting a lot of money back, I went ahead and filed.
I emailed them and asked them how soon would it be sent to the IRS. They told me that it was sent at noon the day that I filed. Three days after I filed I was wondering where was my money and why the status on the site had not changed from "submitted, waiting to be transmitted to the IRS". I emailed them and they responded by saying they had to fix something on their system and then they told me that just sent it. They stated it was because I set up another login under the same email address. The system finally updated and the first time it was denied on the next day (four days after I filed). They never contacted me by email telling me anything about what happened. I emailed them and they said to contact the IRS as to why this happened.
I had to wait until Monday to call and the IRS said that they did not have it on file. Monday I logged onto their site and it had been transmitted again to the IRS (keep in mind that I didn't correct anything on the return yet). Finally it went through and my money was said to be here in one to three days. I contacted the staff again to ask what happened and they could not tell me. They said that the error could have been something that they can correct and resent. I contacted the bank Monday when it was approved and they said that 24hourtaxreturns were not even set up with the bank until Saturday. They were promising me a service that they were not yet able to provide and lied to me about how soon I could receive the money.
I contacted them and they were very rude. Never did I get an appology from any of them. I also sent emails and I never got a response for most of the questions that I asked. I still have no idea how to get a copy of my return from them.
They charged me $69 in preparation fees (not including over $100 bank fees), and did not give me the service that was promised. I was lied to about when I would receive the money. I could have e-filed through a free or cheaper company and got my return in 8 to 15 days from the IRS. It is now day five and the bank said the money should be in my account in one to three days.
The company responds:
We notified this customer that we were experiencing technical difficulties and that the return would be submitted as soon as possible to the IRS. The return was initially rejected due to a typographical error (there was a numerical entry where a character should have been entered instead). This is why the IRS rejected the return. We corrected it ourselves to speed up the process. This is why no correction needed to be made by Jennifer. After the return was resubmitted and accepted, it was only at this point that the client’s bank application could be reviewed.
