I've been going to this Daphne WalMart for years now and everytime I go they have a new optometrist working there. This last time there was some young female in there and my glasses didn't look right to me. Like others on this board I was told to just wear them awhile. I couldn't though so I went to another optometrist who told me I was given SOMEBODY ELSE'S GLASSES !!! I asked him how that could happen and he explained that in Alabama there are no requirements for people who do glasses work except for the optometrist, who's not involved in fitting the glasses. He happened o know the situation there and told me they currently didn't have anyone who even knew how to verify a prescription !!! Scary !!! I think I've been to Wal-Mart for the last time.

Got a refund -- just out my time.

Dr. K performed an eye exam that was short and unprofessional that lasted only a few minutes. then i went out into the vision center and it took 2 ladies about 35 minutes to decide where my bifocals line was supossed to be in my frames. then, they told me i would have to go to the more expensive lens to get the glasses to work. After about 45 minutes, they seemed to think they got everything right and i was charged 303.00 and left.

When i returned to get my glasses, the assistant who was supposed to be working had stepped out to do some shopping and i was told to come back in about 30 minutes. When i returned and put my glasses on, i was very surprised that they were very blurry and out of focus, expecially since i was told my prescription had not changed since my last appointment. The ladies told me that the glasses just needed to be adjusted, which they repeatedly did for about 30 minutes. The adjustments did not make me see any better at all, and i was finally told to just take them and wear them for a while. I refused because i couldn't have even drove home in them without having an accident.

I asked for a refund. I was given a refund for the glasses but was refused by DR. L a refund. She told me her time was valuable and she did not give refunds ever. I felt like she asked for refunds before.

When i went to 2 different vision centers neither one would honor the prescription by Dr. L because of what happened with the glasses. They felt like the prescription might not be the correct one since the glasses were so blurry, so i have to pay the expence of another optomotrist. I am also out the 25.00 in gas that i used going the 100 mile round trip for the visits i made.

I had an eye exam and purchased both contacts and eyeglasses from Walmart in March. I wear my contacts 99% of the time and use my eyeglasses in the evening shortly before I go to bed. About a week ago one of my ear pieces became very lose and when ever i moved my head the glasses would fall down my face. I stopped in the vision center and talked with a man who told me to bring them in and they would take a look at them.

I returned about a week later and that same man was not there so I spoke with the girl at the desk. She told me that a spring had broke and that I would have to purchase new frames. I asked her how this could happen if I never wear them and she told me that I probably took them off my head to rough several times. I explained to her that I am 31 years old and I know how to properly take care of eye glasses and with them being worn so little this should have never happened. She told me there was nothing they would do for me since it was obvious that I had caused this to happen.

I will never return to this vision center for and exam or for eye glasses. I have told everyone I know not to ever use them. I now have to buy new glasses less than a year after purchasing glasses from Walmart. I don't have vision insurance so everything come out of my pocket.

César of Mayaguez, OTHER November 22, 2008

César of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico (11/22/08)
I got my glasses just over a year ago from Walmart. Approximately three months ago i had difficulties with the lenses. I went to the store to complain and although I was well treated, they told me the coating was removed and that they could do nothing. i told them I have used glasses for over 50 years and never such a thing had happened. They told me it was the way I cleaned them and that I had to buy new glasses. No responsibility they took for their product. All was the fault of the consumer!!

I decided to find out in the Internet about Walmart and the coating on their eyeglasses and found this place. I am adding my complaint to the ones already shown here.
