Calvin of Charlotte, NC February 10, 2009
Calvin of Charlotte NC (02/10/09) I entered the Walmart Vision Center today to purchase my new glasses. I was expecting to see the same lady that I have followed for years..10 to be exact..to help me with my purchase. I have never found any other optician to be as friendly, knowledgable, and downright customer service oriented..no matter where I have gone in search of glasses.So..needless to say..I have followed her wherever she went to work.
Well today.. I got the shock of my life...I was told she had been let go..I was not told by anyone in the vision center as to why...so I inquired of a worker in the store who I know through my ex wife...I was told this woman was fired!!...I find this totally unbelievable..this woman is of the highest character and I cannot fathom what could make an organization as huge as Walmart make such a HUGE mistake. I have visited several other of the area's vision centers and can attest to the Eastway store and the Albemarle Rd. store...their customer service is totally lacking...I just wanted to make it known to anyone who reads this that I will NEVER purchase glasses from Walmart again..nor will anyone I know...if your Good employees are treated this way...how do you treat your poor ones??..
Of course I guess that is a way of Walmart saving their almighty ..hiring poor performing employees...so they can pay them much less...but eventually it is the customer who suffers...I will search until I find this wonderful woman and I will purchse my glasses from her.. no matter where she is working..and no matter how much more they may cost..because I am an excellent judge of character..and I am sure there has been a terrible mistake made here...
Walmart lost my business..my whole family's business and anyone else who will listen to what I have to say William of Timmonsville, SC January 28, 2009
William of Timmonsville SC (01/28/09) For the past three years I have been going to the vision center at Wal-mart. Everytime they would say I would receive a card in the mail when my next eye exam was needed. The first year I received the card. The last two years I guess I must go blind because I have not received a card are a telephone call about an exam. I did go last year on my own without receiving a card are call. Finally I decided that I owuld order my contacs online from 1-800 contacs and I gave them my vision enter in which I used and when they called they stated that they would not give out this information. I dont know why vecause they dont care about my eye sight if they did I would had a notice stating it was time. I want them to give me description to 1800 contatc are I could go blind then I will have more moeny. I am not a hard person I work at the police dept. and I deserve respect.
Me eyes are getting weaker and seemed to be swelling under the eye. I do have a burning sensation in both eyes and my vision is blurred once in a while.
Carol of Pulaski, NY January 26, 2009
Carol of Pulaski NY (01/26/09) I have been trying to get the appropriate reading/working glasses since 6/08 with Walmart. I started out with N. Syracuse Walmart. My first visit I explained I need them for working on the computer/reading/night vision to reduce glare. They stated Once I got them I would never want to take them off. So many appts to many to count 3 Drs exams all different prescriptions/ at least 3-4 different lenses. Repeated visits with blurred vision/eyes burning from Debbie and other techs telling me to keep trying them it would take a few weeks.
Eyes burning to no prevail, I stopped at their Central Square Vision Center, After numerous trips there at between 2.70 3.20 a gallon for gas. A trainee placing lences in wrong to finally getting a material that I did not feel I was either looking thru a fog or a Kaleidoscopes scope I stopped into see if they could adjust them again as now I could see thru them to read and computer, but felt like either I was looking thru the line or a tunnel.
Now it is 1/09 and I have no glasses at all. Upon my visit for the adjustment the tech broke the frame and I was told that they do not carry that frame any longer. So now lenses and frame would have to be replaced. I would have to start all over again. I was so discussed I told her I might better get my money back. She stated that she would check into other frames and call me that evening which was Friday and it is now Monday. No phone call in sight. Not only by the time I get any result here I could be blind. I would at least of been offered restatution of some kind.
Angela of Marshall, TX January 14, 2009
Angela of Marshall TX (01/14/09) I recently had to change vision plans at work and in my city, only walmart was a davis vison participator. I went in and ordered glasses, overcharged me per my insurance co, I called and spoke to a davis vision supervisor, but was leaving the country and needed them asap. She put a rush on them and they didn't come in on the day promised. I was told they would be there the next day.
Today I leave for Italy and I called to see if they were in and she was so RUDE! She didn't offer any solution just that she has no control over it. I spoke with a really nice guy the night before and he said they WOULD be in today, he checked on them. I WILL NEVER SHOP WALMART VISION AGAIN. Rude and over charging. I'm the dummy for trying to keep my business in my own town!
I am having to go to Italy without corrective vision glasses. Really puts me in a bind - they debited my checking account for something I don't even have. Now I am 213 out that I could spend in Italy and still have no glasses! Dee of Chadwick, IL January 5, 2009
Dee of Chadwick IL (01/05/09) I took my 11 year old in to see the eye doctor. It was a walk in. I sat down and filled out the necessary paper work and handed them to an assistant who then took my daughter back for the begining of the exam. Then we sat and waited another half hour for the doctor. We went back for the 5 min. exam. He informed us that she did need glasses. So we went out to pick out frames. The assistant asked if I had insurance, I said yes. Handed her my Illinois Public Aid insurance card, she looked at me and very RUDELY said Oh well we do not accept that. But you have to pay for the exam!!! 60 !!! I feel the first thing that should be asked is what kind of insurance you have if any, LONG before they do the exam! You don't go see any doctor without showing insurance first!
I had the 60.00 but it was for the household items I intended to get that day. ( laundry soap, dish soap, etc.) I was frustrated and very very upset they didn't ask for an insurance card before they did the exam. I will never go back to any wal mart store again.
