About 3 months ago, I thought I would go to walmart Vision Center because some friends told me they were less costly than a reg. eye doctor. I made the appt. and upon getting my eye exam, I was amazed that it was done so quickly, and with not near the testing I've had done at my reg. eye doctor. When I questioned this, the 'doctor' asured me with all the new technology, it was much quicker. He then said my eye sight had changed a lot since my old glasses, and prescribed new glasses. After picking out frames, (which I thought were awfully expensive alone!), I went to a lady who said she was measuring me for the frames; and this too went very quickly. I then paid my deposit.

A couple of weeks later, I was called to come pick up my glasses and pay the rest of the money for them. I paid first, and then was fitted with my new glasses. To being with, the frames were too large and didn't even fit my face. When she handed me a little card and asked me to read it, I couldn't. Then she told me to look out across the store and see how my vision was that way. When I looked, everything was blurry in the left eye! After some adjustments' of the frame, again I did the same 'vision tests' and again the same results. I was then told the lab made a mistake with the left lens and they would need to be sent back. And, also when I was sitting there, I overheard another customer telling the lady helping her: This is the third time I've brought these back, and they still don't turn dark when in the sunlight, and they don't fit right. (Was this my second clue?)

A week later, I was again called that my glasses were in. She assured me there would be no extra charge for them having to redo my glasses. (Well! I should hope not!!!) Again, I had all the same results as before! The left lens was blurry. She told me they would have to again be returned to the lab. I told her No, I've wasted too much gas and time now, and I just want a refund. After some long problems with how to best refund my money, I got it and left.

That very afternoon I received a phone call from Walmart stating that they should not have refunded me for the eye exam, as that was a separate thing, and they wanted me to come up immediately to refund the eye exam money to them. I told them I was not traveling 12 miles up there for that, as the cost of gas was nearly 4.00 a gal at that time. Two days later I was again contacted by Walmart for that refund, and I told them at this time, I was advised to not refund the eye exam money to them as the exam was not done properly, and also was not done to my satisfaction; and actually they should have refunded me for my gas for those two lost trips. I got a lot of static over this, but did not give them any refund of my money. TO date, they have not called me again about this.

A month later, I went to my reg. eye doctor, and got a very thorough exam, where they found I did NOT need new glasses, as my vision had changed so slighlly from my previous visit and my glasses were fine, and they only had to do a slight adjustment to my frames. Also, they did a presssure test on my eyes, which I did not get at Walmart. I was very dissapointed in EVERYTHING Walmart did about my eye exam and the frames, etc., and I will never go back to them; in addition to spreading the word to all I know to beware.

With this particular Vision Center, I have to call ahead to order my contacts because I happen to use a strength that they usually have to order a week out in advance. I have been getting my contacts from this location for over 12 years. But because of the distance from my home I have ordered elsewhere in the past. I have noticed in the past year since returning to this location in Cerritos, that the customer service at this Vision Center has deteriorated; NOT the Dr's office which goes by First Site.

This is solely the service at Vision Center they have tremendously horrible customer service. I have called a couple of times before to order and have not only been told that I don't get the brand I need because it is not in their system, but have been rushed off the phone with an adamant attitude saying that I have to ask the doctor to write me a new Rx because I am obviously WRONG? I go back and forth and still get upset because they have NO customer service skills whatsoever.

They talk over you or at the same time you are trying to get your words in. Why should I be treated as if I am asking for charity? I am handing them my money to provide me with a much needed service. Why must they have such POOR customer service skills? What they are doing is what they are supposed to be doing! I am not asking them to go outside their job description; I am doing what they are hired to all day long...cater to customers!

I will NEVER go there again. They have upset me so much so that I began to breathe heavily. I am so upset that I sought out this site to lodge a complaint and will seek out other sites, and will email people directly; including the president of Vision Center, Better Business Bureau, Wal-Mart, First Site...you name it. I will be writing letters.

I went for eye exam was totally mislead on purchasing my glasses and what was avaialble to me. Told I had to get the anti-glare. Lenses were to short in height to accomodate progressive lenses. Sales staff did not guide me to correct glasses or my needs...just simply wanted to make a 350 sale for glasses I can not see out of unless I look over the tops of them. Will never go back or recommend to friends. Stay away from Walmart Vision Center.

Have glasses I can not see out of without looking over the tops of them. Totally useless and waste of money.

While visiting my daughter in Maryland, my glasses were broken. I went to Walmart in Hagerstown to their vision Center. I have just turned 65 and have been put on Medicare. All I did was ask the woman if they took Medicare for Insurance. She started laughing saying no way do we take that insurance go out and get a job to pay for these

As I was leaving she was still laughing and loudly, saying Medicare no way. I'm sorry but do I need that grief I'm new to this medicare and no one ever told me that you can be rejected for the insurance you use. But to put up with this demeaning attitude is not necessary. I plan to write Medicare and ARRP and tell them this same story. I think if Walmart rejects Medicare maybe the seniors of the United States should reject Walmart. I was at that Walmart October 24th at 10 A.M. Hope I'm still around when you exec's get old.
