Metrovision Optical

New York Area

Prom of Rye Brook NY (6/15/03):
I purchased a pair of glasses whith both glare and scratch resistant coating. After 6 months, I noticed some small scratches on my right lens while the left lens had none. After one year, the right lens is now full of small scratches blurring my vision and it is now obvious that the scratch resistance coating which I paid for was not applied to my right lens. The left lens was still scratch free.

I went back to MetroVision to complain, and they treated my rudely and saying, "What do you want to do? You can do anything you want but we are not covering the cost." I explained that this shouldn't have happened and he agreed but felt that it was my fault and that he doesn't know what I did to the lens. He then followed by saying "Bye bye".

Melissa of East Meadow, NY, writes (6/27/01):
I went to Metrovision to get glasses and fitted for contacts. I had had probelms with contacts in the past so I made sure to ask if there was a problem would I be able to get my money back? The doctor that I spoke with, Dr. Hersh, said it would be no problem.

I tried 3 different types of trial lens and they all gave me a problem. When I decided that I didn't want the contacts they refused to refund my credit card the $320 owed to me and Maxine the manager was extreamely nasty and refused to give me the number of the owner or the corporate office. She insisted that she was the only person I could talk to and told me I was harrassing her and hung up on me.

I tried to explain to Maxine that nothing was ordered for me except for the trial lens and I was willing to pay for them. All she said I could get was store credit, which I don't understand being that nothing is ordered or sitting in the store for me.
