Moviepass.tv

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

We can't say for sure, but Moviepass.tv appears surprisingly similar to Movieland.com, doesn't it?

We were on the computer and a screen from moviepasstv.com popped up. My wife tried to delete it and it wouldn't allow her to. All it would say is that somebody from our house had agreed to the terms and we had a 3-day trial.

If we didn't pay for the service they will send it to collections.

These people load this program on your computer that robs you of time and money. I had to pay $24 to get it off my screen and I still can't uninstall the program. Worse yet when I go to their contact page I get an ERROR PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER message. If you click on their home page... URL DOES NOT EXIST OR IS OUT DATED.

If you read their license agreement they require you to pay for a month of their service whether you cancel during the trial periord or not.

Moviepass.tv has taken over my browser and demanded payment for a service that I have never requested. It states that my 3-day trial period is over but, I've never been on the website, outside of looking it up to request that they stop the popups. I cannot remove them from my files because, it is encrypted. Help!

A pop-up keeps coming on my computer saying I downloaded their service in June at 5:30 am. I'm 53 years old and am asleep at that time. I did not install their service and download the songs listed.

They popped up on my computer and I can't get rid of them. They say I owe them money, but I've never heard of them.

They say they will keep popping up until I pay $30. What can I do?

moviepass.com keeps popping up on my computer demanding money to get rid of the attached file that I never asked or heard of. This is interupting anything and everything that I do on this computer. I use this computer for my business.

My computer is being held for ransom.

I don't know how they got into my computer but I can't get rid of them. They are demanding payment for something I do not want .

I have Moviepass on my computer put there by someone who now has no computer priviliges, and I can't find a way to get rid of it. When I go to add/delete it brings up the home page of Moviepass. There is no way to delete Moviepass on the web site. I only brought it up on my compter once, and I'm afraid to bring it up again.

I started getting e-mail **** or spam. In the past there was always a "remove from e-mail list" option when I scrolled to the bottom. After about three months of this **** stuff, I scrolled down and found a "contact us". Needless to say, I was surprised to get all sorts of stuff. The more I clicked off the more I got. I finally turned off my computer.

Four days later a large orange block totally consumed my screen and told me my 3-day trial period was up. I never requested a trial of anything but now they want me to purchase something - No, they are demanding I purchase it. Now matter what I've tried, nothing gets rid of it. My 'program delete' just takes me to a web page that either says, Page cannot be displayed or an error has occurred, try again in a few minutes.

I see from this link I can get a free trial of software that is guaranteed to get rid of it but with my luck it is probably from the same jerks that got it on my computer in the first place!

This just appeared in my computer. A pop-up from moviepass.tv appears every few minutes telling me a 3-day trial has ended and to contact them. I have tried everything to erase this pop-up that does not let me work my PC. The ugly music does not let me hear music or DVD's.

The truth is this is driving me crazy.

I have a Moviepass.tv pop up on my computer and can't get rid of it. I don't know how it got on my computer, but it is very annoying. I can't use my computer anymore because it interupts everything.

It started when my 13 year old dauther just visted this site and now they keep sending pop ups, saying that we owe. We never used their service, just passed through siberspace as kids do. I can't believe they would bill a 13 year old without the parents consent.

I can't. check my mail or even get on line to even do anything.

One of my children signed on my e-mail address and apparently signed up for moviepass. I do not want it, I never used it and they are harrassing me.

My daughter and I were searching for ring tones for our new phone. Moviepass.tv came up with a screen that immediately wanted you to download the program. We exited out right then and did not enter any information. Three days later, the pop-ups began stating that since we did not cancel prior to the end of our 3 day trial, we would now have to pay $100 or the notifications would continue.

I went back on the site, looking for a phone # or email contact to complain to. Of course, no phone # was found and the email went unanswered. They attach over 15 files to my system, all with different names. Finally, after trying everything, I called my wireless ISP and they were kind enough to send me the link to your site and also a link to Spyware,http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-muvipaz.html (in case anyone else needs it).

I had to order the Spyware program for $40, but I'd rather pay them, then a dime to this fraudulent company that started this whole mess!!!

They keep popping up and saying I owe money. I want it stopped right now! They never give a phone # or address, only web addresses that get me nowhere except to tell me I owe more money.

When I sign on I get the pop up and bad music that I cannot get rid of!

They said I signed up for a 3 day trial, which I never did. Then they have the nerve to tell me I owe them money when the trial is up. If you don't pay you keep getting this pop-up that you can't close out. This company is complete fraud. They should be shut down and prosecuted. They don't even give a # to call for customer service, because they know their wrong. I'd like to thank Brad of Chesapeake VA for finding the number, if it wasn't for him I don't know how I would have gotten rid of that stupid pop-up. That number is 1-866-431-7720.

Luckily I wasn't out any money, but some people would probably pay to get rid of the pop-up, which isn't right. They should post a number on their website to call if you have problems.

I am getting notices about payment as i din't cancel during trial period.but i have not downloaded the programme completely and i am not even able to enter members area.because of the notices i am facing a lot of problem in working.I am not able to remove their software from my pc.This site should be refrained from this practice of troubling.

My complaint is like everyone else concerning moviepass.tv. I did not activate this service, it happened while I was out of the country. I am not paying them one red cent. I have also tried to delete this program and it directs you to their website. I am concern about doing any online banking due to this company. This company needs to be put out of business.

I feel I am unable to access my personal and work files due to this violation of my home computer.

MoviePass claimed I signed up for a 3-day trial. This is not true.

I just discovered two of my neighbors and a friend of mine who lives 75 miles away are having the same problem.

This awful popup which takes a long time to run through comes on with some jerk named Kate demanding I am legally obligated to purchase something they say I installed at 6:23 am last Wednesday, which is not possible since I was out for a bike ride. In any case, I found out about this scam after reading message boards on the net. I did find, however, that if you call 1-866-431-7720 M-F 8-4 PST and tell them your CUSTOMER ID NUMBER (which comes up along with your IP address during the popup) they will cancel it immediately. They didn't even argue with me. But if you try to remove the software and don't have the customer number they will not remove it.

A whole lot of hair-pulling. Not as bad as some - I am not out any money.

They claim i activated a free 3-day trial but i didn't. Now they say I am obligated to pay because I didnt cancel before the end of the trial. I had never even heard of the site before.

Itried installing moviepass.com but every timeI tried to access it, it kept saying "authenticating" and then my computer would freeze up. I hadto shutmy computerdown to get it working again.

As far as I was concernedI didn't have m.p.com. NowI keep getting pop-ups sayingI owe them money.

I mistakingly clicked on Movieland and tried to cancel everything immediately by clicking on their customer service link. The response was a pop-up type screen stating "EXCEPTION = OBJECT DOESN'T SUPPORT THIS PROPERTY OR METHOD " and then I was hung up on.

I can find no way to contact this company.

I have a pop up that cannot be gotten rid of. The moviepass.tv pop up continues to play irritating music and only allows me to go into a payment site. They ask for various forms of payment for a movie 3-day trial that I am supposed to have agreed to.

I do not recall this nor have I used a movie pass service of any kind. I want this off my computer but it seems that it is impossible to be gotten rid of.

I have NEVER signed up for this servise and now can not get it removed from computer. It continually pops up and will not go away.

I get home from work, get on my computer to check my e-mail, and I get some stupid pop-up with some ugly chick telling me I've download something onto my computer, and agreed to a 3-day trial with moviepass.tv.

I just got this computer...How can someone hack into your computer like this?!? I'm very upset right now!!!

A couple of weeks ago I started noticing pop ups so I used Control-Alt-Del to kill the process. The pop ups kept on coming back.

Since I am a Software developer I decided to get rid of it once and for all, but it turned out to be a very difficult task. I can assure you that few people would be able to remove it.

This company created an account for me and will charge me to have this account regardless of whether I asked for it or not!

When I called them to cancel this illegal account they asked me for the account number and told me that they could not do anything without it. The account number is located on the pop ups which I just got rid off. They will not cancel this illegal account

I kept receiving this annoying popup telling me I must pay a fee for a service that I did not authorize. At the time, I believed my son downloaded the software from the internet so unfortunately I paid the $29.95 to cancel any financial obligations they claimed I had.

After researching it further and reading many of the other complaints it appears a physical download is not necessary and that somehow this service just hacks into your computer. I feel like an idiot for paying the fee and pray that I will not encounter problems with them debiting my bank account.

As far as I know I've only lost $29.95, but I've seen posts where the charges continue to be withdrawn from a persons account.

Movie Pass.TV was downloaded to my pc. No one was home at my house and my pc was not on; I was on the way to pick my kid up at his Grandparents and my wife was at school. These people tell me that my three day trial period is over and that I am legally obligated to pay them. This site continiously pops up on my PC.

I have spent several hours attempting to get rid of it but have had no luck. I have been able to slow down the pop up but still get it from time to time and it is still installed on my programs.

I am tired of getting the message from some stupid blond named Kate

I have been trying to cancel this mistake from day one but there is no way to. I have no phone number to this company or a contact person.

I'm tired of those popups.

I never installed this garbage on my computer - it hijacked its way on. I was at work when I supposedly installed it.

I called the number listed, give them the customer number that shows after you try to stop the pop ups and was told by "Alejandro" that he canceled the account. He said to restart my computer and the pop ups will be gone. We'll see.....

I have never wanted nor signed up for Moviepass.tv but their pop-up screen continually appears. In addition, it plays music and is very disturbing when I attempt to chat with folks on the internet!

I have attempted every way humanly possible to get assistance to delete this awful pop-up screen.

I have a computer in my shop adjacent to my house and I signed on one evening only to be greeted with an annoyig popup from Moviepasstv.com. It indicated my three day free pass is up and I must pay to have this annoying popup removed. I did not subscribe to this service nor do I plan to pay. This company is obviously gettig ahold of computer IP addresses and creating this nuisance popup that can't be disposed of. This is obviously a scam that is creating a major problem for many people across the US. What can be done to eliminate this popup and secondly, what can be done to put an end to this scam company?

It is impossible to use my computer without having to perform a ctrl/alt delete function and End Task each time I log onto my computer. This is creating considerable anguish and invasion of my privacy. If I had a physical addresss, I would be inclined to pay a personal visit to this organization and demand this scam be stopped immediately or face a lawsuit. This is a case of pure entrapment and we need the assistance of the FTC or some agency who monitors these scams to put an end to this company. They should be fined and placed behind bars for what they are doing to the public!!!

When I turn on my computer. I have this Moviepass pop-ups telling me I have to pay for my account. Well I didn't download this and I refuse to pay for something I will never use. I just want this to stop.

Moviepass was attached to an e-mail I received from Michigan. I cannot remove it from my computer, I did not order it, I do not want it.

It says that I am legally responsible to purchase this service.

Moviepass.tv installed software on my computer causing a message to pop-up continuously saying that I signed up for their service (which I did not); that I owed them money; and would submit me to a collection service if I did not pay. I was not able to get this popup off my computer until I downloaded F-Secure spyware from the Charter security suite, at no charge to me.

It took a significant amount of my time to get this off of my computer. I THINK THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE BANNED FROM THE INTERNET FOR PRACTICING THIS LOW UNDERHANDED ATTEMPT TO STEAL FROM USERS OF THE INTERNET.

When I turned on my PC this morning a pop up came up from Moviepasstv.com that my 3 day trial has expired & now I must pay or go to collections? No one ordered this.

I'm trying to contact them but their website does not list any contact information.

Moviepass.tv said that I downloaded the free trail on Sunday April 16, 2006 at around 1:30 pm. I wasn't even home then. I was at a baseball game and my computer wasn't even on.

The popups say if I don't pay, it could effect my credit.

This moviepass.tv showed up on my computer saying I ordered a 3-day free trial and now they want me to pay money. I have never ordered anything like this. I just bought this computer from Dell and can't afford for anything to happen to it. I feel this is a scam

There is no contact number or address to contact anyone. I have tried to delete this off my computer, but it takes you directly to their website asking for a credit card or check by phone, etc.

When I opened my computer on 4/19/06 I got a pop up to subscribe to this moviepass.tv. I did not solicit this company or request anything from them.

I called the number on the screen and spoke to Alex . He asked for my customer number and then said I was canceled. This did not happen. I called back 3 more times and finally he told me to lower my blockers so he could email me instructions to remove the popups. I gave him my email but I told him his junk got through with my regular email so I would not lower any of my blockers for him.

They say I ordered their 3-day trial, and didn't cancel, so now I legally owe them.

The pop up blockers keep popping up.

I never signed up for moviepass. I can't work on my computer with all their pop ups.

There is no phone number to call and so moviepass jams my computer with these popups. I don't want moviepass, I don't owe moviepass, and I will never get movipass. All I want is for them to stop the popups.

Popup ads want payment for something I do not want to subscribe to. I have all firewall and anti virus programs running, but the ad still pops up each time I go on line.

The ad states that the 3-day free trial period has passed and now the only way I can stop the pop up is to pay a monthly or yearly fee. I cannot contact anyone to talk to.

I am so upset that the Moviepass.tv ad keeps popping up everytime I am on the internet. One of my underage children probaby ordered not knowing what the heck they were doing or didn't know what they were getting into.

There is this software from moviepass.tv that always pop up on my screen which claim that I installed it to my computer but I never did. I was not home at the time they claim the installation was done and it says that I should chose a payment option in order to stop the payment reminders. I never signed up for any service from them and I would like them to stop sending me that pop up.

I don't even want to use my computer because every 5 minutes it pops up and it is annoying.

I was using my computer and suddenly this notice popped up playing horrendous music saying I owed money for a service I didn't subscribe to. I know for fact I never downloaded it especially at the time and day they say I did. I couldn't continue doing my research because I couldn't get the notice to go away. They have no options other than to pay. The links to "about us" and "customer service" are bogus. When I clicked on those links it just took me back to the payment options. I finally clicked the "general question link" and told them I was going to report them to the FCC and BBB online. I also told them I was going to get as many other miffed people I could find and file a class action lawsuit against them.

When I clicked the send button, an option to "cancel service" came up and of course I selected it. It said my service was cancelled sucessfully. I thought that was the end of it. I thought if I restarted my computer the notice and horrendous music would be gone forever. Wrong answer, sure enough the notice and unbearable music were back. I can take a lot of things, but don't mess with my family, my dogs, my money and especially my computer.

Everytime we get on line a Moviepass.tv ad shows up saying we owe them money for a service we didn't cancel. I am the only one that can install software on this computer so I know for a fact I never ok'ed this program and that is why I think it is a scam. We have been harassed for four weeks.

I bought pop-up blockers and spam catchers but this keeps getting through, I think using our IP address.

Brand new computer and I think maybe my son downloaded this Moviepass.tv without knowing what he was doing.

They are always interfering with me being online. There is no way to contact them except to agree to pay and I wil not.

Apparently my 9 year old son downloaded something from a pop up ad. I assume the pop up explained the conditions for downloading, but my son had no idea.

Now I guess the trial period for downloading has ended and moviepass.tv is expecting me to purchase a contract. The pop up today stated I was responsible for purchasing a contract or would be taken to collections.

There is no phone number on the website, and the only thing anyone can do is send an email. This is a heck of a scam they are pulling.
