Marc Verlaine Studios

Milwaukee

Anequay of Milwaukee writes (1/30/02):
My friend and I both dreamed of being models. We went for the interview and we were later called and told that we were selected to be models. We set up an appointment for January 6th, 2002. That's when we put down our first payment of $145.00.

When I spoke to the lady she asked us to put down $240.00, but I explained that's a lot of money. I also explained to her that I wasen't working at the time and that the only income I had recieved is from Social Security. The reason I get Social Security is because I am a 18-year-old old full-time student, and my mother died when I was 12.

She told me the lowest she could go was $145.00. She also told us that she needed to know if we were going to do it or not at that time. I had questions though. "Was this the real deal?" "How much money would I make?" She promised we would make up to $500.00 a day.

Then after we put our $145.00 down we scheduled another appointment for Febuary 10th, 2002. Febuary 10th was suppose to be our make-up and photo shoot. On January 29th, 2002 I asked the Assistant Director of my school to look up some information on the MVS Group. Then is when I found out that this is not what I wanted to do. I've read some stories from other girls and I've experienced some of the same things. I'm glad that I read this before going any further.

I lost over $145.00 because of this so called modeling thing. I can't believe people would do this. Young girls go for modeling. But they don't go for porn. If I would have known that this is what it's all about then I wouldn't have gone near this place. I want to model and have fun, not be violated.

I am afraid to look for another company now, because I think alot of them are like this.I feel hurt that someone would take advantage of us young, beautiful females out here. I lost $145.00 for the first down payment, and I lost over $110.00 for the make up and clothes I had to buy to do this.

We've received similar complaints about the Verlaine operation in Chicago.
