Dr. Joseph Goodman, DDS

Beverly Hills, CA

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

Great dental experience - I was just in on Friday for a procedure which I always wanted to get done but never had time or money to do, changing all the old silver fillings to white ones. I had had plenty, about 14. So, it took Dr. Goodman 3 visits, and last Friday was my last one. Today, on Sunday I can report that all fillings feel great, smooth and biting is normal. One tooth I experience a little cold sensitivity when chewing ice, but I am sure this will settle soon. I will keep you posted. I was a little hesitant because I had to sign a consent form informing me of possible nerve damage and so on, shall the decay be too close to the nerve, but everything went perfect.

I can only express my gratitude and respect for Dr. Goodman. A true professional who has passion for what he does. In retrospect, I admire all the openness and explanations in advance, so I was able to make a clear choice and my choice was correct. I am happy that after so many years, I finally don't have these old fillings anymore. By the way, Dr. Goodman gives the best injections, virtually pain free by having some sort of "vibrator" attached to his syringe, you don't feel a thing although the entire head is vibrating. Fun experience, I love it!

Dr. Joseph (aka Josef) Goodman in Beverly Hills, CA comes on as a charismatic and charming person at first, to get your business. But if you want him to redo his mistakes, he turns cold like steel and escorts you out to the lobby, then reads a book and goes silent. He does half ** jobs and tries to talk a patient into something other than what they want. He seems to use "cement" in processes where cement is not supposed to be used. He has bad reviews on Yelp.com including some that are filtered out, but the filtered bad reviews can be accessed. The good reviews on Yelp.com - hmm, maybe he made those up himself, who knows? I can see why he is greedy for money as he probably doesn't have many returning clients. When my friend went in to his office, he was the only patient there. Usually, a successful dentist office has at least one other patient being treated or someone waiting. Don't go to this dentist, he probably took a correspondence course.

The doctor did a root canal, which was super painful, and then put a crown and gold on another tooth. I paid $1250 for each tooth. When he was done I told him that food was getting stuck in between but he said the job was done correctly. Now three years later the crown is cracked, food is getting stuck and I have pain. I went to Dr. G. and he said I need a new crown and wants to charge me $950 which is unacceptable. I have 3 crowns in my mouth for more than 10 years and never had a problem. I told him he should do for free or a better price but he refused. This doctor is terrible. Don't ever go to him. Now I have to go to another dentist to have this repaired. I don't have insurance and it's a waste of time, money, energy. Also, my gum is infected now because of all this.

Dr. Joseph Goodman is amazing. I have been going to him for years and my teeth have never been in better shape. He is sharp, very skilled and very direct. ("you have gum disease") His entire staff has been sweet and always helpful accommodating my busy schedule. He is a true dentist, does most of the procedures in-house without having to refer for small things. Dr. Goodman did my girlfriend's veneers and they look so real and amazing, that even the hygienist of her new DDS in New York did not realize they were veneers when she had a cleaning done ("Hey, don't scratch my new veneers," she said to her) The hygienist was looking around with her pocking instruments for minutes to check them out. He is a great dentist and listener.

She had dental work done in 2004 and we never heard back from her. She had missed multiple appointments thereafter. Six (6) years later she contacted us and was very rude over the phone and told us that one of her crowns came loose and that it should not have happened ever. She acted very upset and irrational. We agreed that dental work should last 10 to 15 years and we asked her to come in to evaluate.

When she came in, I realized that the crown which is loose was not done at our office. We showed her the original chart entries, the original laboratory slip and the copy of the invoice; this crown was not touched by any dentist in our office.

We believe that she is just out here to force us to get a new crown done at no charge or she will write a negative review about us. Then she asked us how much it would be to get it done by us, but because Ms. Zevelyn ** demeanor and threatening attitude, we quoted her extremely high so she would not come back. She is just a person with poor character. I hope she takes an attorney who has more common sense so we can explain to him that her client is completely wrong.

Dr. Goodman charged a total of $7,500.00 and he put in 5 crowns and 2 crown inlays as he called them. Here we are February 10; my whole crown falls out my mouth drinking tea after midnight. I texted Dr. Goodman as he stated if we have any emergency. He called me back the next day and was very rude and more concerned at why I was so irate and he stated he can just cement it back in. He would have someone call me to come in. You would think he would have told me to meet him at his office, considering I paid him $1,000 per crown which I thought then was quite expensive, but since he was highly recommended, I paid but never at 45 did I think it would ever fall out in less than a half a decade. I had crowns in my mouth still to this day from work by D.D.S. Back in the 80s. I would not have paid him $1,000 per crown ever to add insult too injury, he never had anyone from his office call.

So I called and went in only for him to get my file, look in my mouth to tell me he did not do the work. It's not my work, it's not only his work, he's a arrogant male ** and he thinks he's perfect and does not want to admit he finally screwed up this time as we all can do. I want my $1000 back so I am gonna take him two small claims court. He's a thief and taking advantage of people riding on the fact he's in B.V.H. and not doing Beverly Hills work. I want to file a complaint. No one has money to spend on crowns every 3 years. He's wrong for that. Then does not even admit what a bunch of crock I am **. And Dr. Goodman's last words were, "I can put you a new crown for $1500.00 now." A few years later it is $500.00 more. Wow, hope he has better bonding clue are a better lamp trick. I am looking into legal representation. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
