Zanetta of Warner Robins, GA September 29, 2009

I order things from ebay all the time. One package has gone missing in the past and just recently five items that I ordered are currently missing. I called that customer service number since the tracking number says it was delivered, but in fact they were not. They are no help at all! I truly think there is a specific postal worker that is stealing my mail. It has just happened too many times this year to believe it is coincidence. I read somewhere that the post office has a monthly auction and auctions off "lost" or "recovered" items.

I am told the only hope to recover my items is to buy a ticket to attend the auction, buy back my items and have the people who sold it arrested. Not sure how well that will go down. Right now I am at a loss for my ebay items and my items. I ordered a few items for an event and am not able to wear them or get my money back. There is also some future events planned that I will not be able to wear my items to.

milly of brooklyn park, MN September 29, 2009

My husband and I ordered a cell phone from ebay on September 2nd 2009. The person i bought it from gave me the tracking numbers. I tracked it almost everyday to see where it is. On the 14th of september I tracked it and it said that it had arrived at the USPS. I did not get a note from USPS to go pick it up so i waited for it to come. It did not come so i went to the USPS that it arrived at on the 18th of september. When i got there i gave them my tracking number.

They tracked it and said that it did arrive on the 14th. I told her that i did not get it. So she went to the back and looked for it. She came back saying that she could not find it. She told me that the carrier that delivers around my neighborhood will be back at 5:30 and that they will ask him and will call me later on that day or the next day. I waited and they never called. My husband called the next day and they said the same thing again! that they can't find it and will ask the carrier and then call back. They never called back. Ever since my husband and i have been calling to check up.

I emailed the person i bought the cell phone from ebay and she had said that she delivered it and the US postal office will get it. She told me exactly where she sent it to and my adddress was correct. On the 22nd of September i decided to go to USPS and talk to them. They remember my husband and i, but they kept saying the same thing again! That can't find it. They said that they scanned it and everything. Then they said they have to ask the carrier that sends mail to my house but he went on vacation, so i had to wait till the 28th when he gets back. And should come in at 7 in the morning before all the mail men leave. I did not understand why they had to wait for him. Its not like he brings his mail truck on vacation too! I was fustrated but waited till the 28th.

On the 28th of September my husband went to the postal office at 7am. They told him that our mail man doesn't come in till 10! So he went back at 10 and he said they looked for 15 mins and came back to tell him that they could not find it and that they will ask the other carriers about it or ask the person i bought it from for a refund! How am i suppose to get a refund when i didn't even get my package? Is it her fault? She didn't lose my package! I am becoming very angry with the service i get at USPS.

I just have a feeling that they will keep telling me the same thing until i give up or something. I think they know they are responsible and is trying to wait till i stop. I wont stop. I am going to keep going back until they actually do something about it. Its the UNITED STATES postal service, they shouldn't be this irresponible.

Its been almost a month now. I will go back and make sure they do something about it. I read some of the stories on here and most of them say that their package did not have insurance on it. Mine didn't have one either. Most stuff on ebay don't give insurance on it. I dont think having insurance has anything to do with it. The ebay seller, i think is not at fault because they did ship it out and the postal office even said that it arrived, its just that "they cant find it." I am so angry and i dont know what to do!

Crystal of Carrollton, OH September 28, 2009

I have just recently found that a ticket and money order my husband sent in mail in August 09 has not reached it's destination. Basically lost in the mail. What is the problem here. This is the third time in two years that I have had to stop payments on checks or in this case have to find out how to try and get our money reimbursed because the USPS has yet again lost our mail. This is expensive and time consuming for myself let alone the fact that it makes our bills late. Had the Dept. of Transportation not sent us another statement saying they wanted there money my husband could have lost his drivers license. His license are part of our livelyhood. He's a truck driver. I am just honestly very disturbed that I am here again, because others that make I am sure more money than my husband or myself have to come up with more money to rectify a problem that should not be a problem. What happened to the days when people took pleasure in a job well done?

pedro of Bronx, NY September 28, 2009

I have mailed out 2 payments to my auto insurance company one in August 2009, and another on September 16,2009 the first one for a payment of 90.00 and the second for a payment of 261.00 in order to avoid camcellation. It appears that the postal service lost the mail because the insurance company has never received the money " What the hell is going on" I can not complain because this can not be tracked I checked with the bank where the first check was made and they informed me that the money has not been cashed?

Katie of Brooklyn, NY September 28, 2009

I sent a certified letter on August 29th 2009 (containing a 1080.00 bank check) from "Correos" mail in Madrid Spain to Brooklyn, New York. I checked the tracking number and the tracking number reveals that the letter arrived in New York with the USPS on September 1st 2009. It is September 28th 2009. Over the last 2 weeks I have contacted the USPS and spoken to numerous employees. No one seems to have any information on this "tracked" certified letter. There is no one that can apparently find this letter even though it has a tracking number. I can get NO answers from any of the employees. They keep sending back to the same numbers with the same "I don't know where the letter is, it is with someone under lock and key" answer. This is a money order that was sent and cannot be canceled. It will be one full month that the letter has not been delivered.

Stephanie stated since i didnt purchse insurace there isn't anything that they can do.

C. of New Holland, OH September 21, 2009

A friend had stated he was sending me an important package though the postal service, Saturday September 12, 2009. He stated he was posting thought Priority Mail. As of Monday September 21, 2009, this package has yet to arrive. I went in to complain and was told that unless there was a confirmation number, the post office is unable to do anything. The package was actually a gift of 1000 which is needed to pay off a bill in order to allow us to have additional funds when renegotiation the mortgage on our house, as it is facing foreclosure.

Elizabeth of Chiloquin, OR September 20, 2009

I had an order for some dvd's which I shipped ou with a tracking number. I got an email from the buyer who said she never recieved the package. I resent her the tracking number. I looked on usps website and tracked the package and it stopped at the Haden NJ post office. I called and finally recieved a call from my post office and she said they will probably not even look for it. I filed a lost package claim and oh well nothing can be done I understand the post office has an auction every month for lost and unclaimed packages. Isn't that nice. they will not even reimburse my loss because I did not buy insurance.

Mary of Center Ossipee, NH September 20, 2009

We ordered an 18thc style gown made by a person we know in billerica Mass. On Wed., Sept 9, 2009 she mailed it to us IN A PRIORITY MAIL BOX. She mailed it from the Walden branch of the Concord, Mass. post office. We live in New Hampshire, 2 hours away. It is now Sept. 20, and we have not received the package. We live in a small town, and know everyone at our tiny PO. This package has NOT made it to our town. My husband lost his job. This item was 300., and much needed for our reenacting and historical paid presentations. Stupidly, we did not ask for insurance because it was extra money we didn't have, and the package was only supposed to go from Mass. to NH. This box could not have evaporated! It HAS to be somewhere, but no one will help us.
