FedEx Buys Kinko's

Osbert of Oranjestad, Aruba (01/26/09)
I have instructed my authorized representative in Belize, Central America, to send me on a urgent basis, 2 lbs, of our Habanero Hot Peppers, here to Aruba, because we have an important client who need a long term contract for hot pepper delivery. Since I know that we have what this client need, I commit myself to have a sample delivered to him in just a couple of days, which he agreed!

On January 20, 2009 my representative in Belize delivered a package containing +2 lb of Habanero Pepper to the authorized agent in Belize. The next day (January 21, 2009) the package left Belize to Miami, Fla. USA.

Today it is the 26 of January, 2009 and nobody in FEDEX USA, Belize and Aruba can tell me exactly what is going on. The FedEx agent in Belize gives us a cellular phone number to call in Miami (!) which we did call and first it was that 'paper is missing', then that it was the weekend, then other paper is missing, etc... Today, I called the cellular number of FedEx (!) in Miami, and a lady, absolute not in a good humor, just limit herself by telling me that 'it will go out today!!!

Now in the afternoon of January 26, 2009 I decide to call FedEx Aruba, to know if the package arrives, and to my bitter surprise they told me that nothing have arrives...maybe tomorrow! (ONE WHOLE WEEK AFTER THE DATE OF SHIPMENT / TALKING ABOUT EXPRESS COURIER SERVICE). Then the lady at the FedEx in Aruba decides to 'help' me with finding out what is going on. She uses the computer to communicate and after trying so many times, she told me that the system is not allowing her to get into the Miami Office, and Miami Office is blocked and she is not receiving any response!!

She promise me to go check what can be done... and right now 'the day is gone' and tomorrow it will be a week, that I have send some fresh samples to Aruba, from Belize to Aruba, via Miami, and at this point NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHAT IS GOING ON AND WHERE IS THE PACKAGE AND WHEN I WILL RECEIVE IT.

The worst part of this is that those fresh samples by now are wasted and worthless to use as a 'marketing material' with my client.

After ordering an item it was shipped by Fed Ex. The driver made one attempt at delivery then the package was held for pick-up. I called Fed Ex to complain and 3 days later received a phone call at 7:30am on a Saturday. It become apparent that Fed Ex cares nothing about customer service nor customer satisfaction. Allowing employees to get away with not doing the work they are paid to do is a disgrace!

I purchased a gift from Boudin Bakery in San Francisco, to be delivered 600 miles up the coast in Oregon. It was shipped on Dec 22 using Fed Ex 2-Day shipping. The weather has been terrible in Oregon, so I wasn't really surprised when the package didn't make it on the 24th. However, when it was still on a truck coming from Sacramento on the 26th, and didn't get delivered until the evening of the 29th, then I was upset. I contacted Fed Ex...they could care less, especially since I wasn't the one who actually shipped the package. They told me that Boudin Bakery would have to file the complaint.

Fortunately for me, I ordered my gift from Boudin Bakery -- a STELLAR company. They gave me a FULL refund ( product and shipping) on the morning of the 29th even though the problem wasn't their fault. The refund was credited to my card THE NEXT DAY! I have encouraged Boudin Bakery to cancel their contract with Fed Ex and try someone else (although I know that even UPS isn't perfect).

I order a package from Saks Fifth in Cincinnati Ohio,on Dec 18 2008 They shipped via FEDEX air 2 day delivery on Dec 20, 2008 for Xmas. Package never arrived. They then promised Saks that the package would be delivered on MOnday, DEc 29th, 2008. Now they tell me my package may not get delivered till Jan 5th due to a clerical error ghostwriter stopping delivery til Jan 5th. I've had several problems in the past with FEDEX and I'm FED Up. I prefer UPS they are efficient and timely. Packages get to you when they are suppose to.

This is a follow-up to my previous complaints. I have received numerous emails saying that they are forwarding my complaints to them. All basically saying the same as the following message:

Thank you for your email. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced with this shipment. Please be assured that we have sent a follow up message to the Terminal on your behalf with regard to this shipment and requested them to give you a call back as soon as information becomes available. Thank you for your patience and for shipping with FedEx.

I called customer service today and was informed that the terminal is closed today and will reopen tomorrow. Which means the earliest my package will be delivered is on Wednesday, 8 days past the estimated delivery date. That's if the Seattle facility is overloaded because of other shipping delays in which case it will be delivered no later than the following Monday, Jan. 5, 2009.

This is why I will never ship anything by Fedex again.
