Three different people called my home phone number every weekday beginning February 1, 2012, leaving a message for my estranged husband. The nonworking call back number they left did not ring when I dialed it. Shawn caught me at home this morning (2/9/12) and I told him they had the wrong number for the person they were trying to reach and to please take my numbered off their list. They continued asking me to provide info regarding where the subject person could be found and what was happening to his mail and insisting that I answer questions regarding this person. I told them they were harassing me by continuing their interrogation and if they called my number again, I would give their info to my lawyer and hung up. The conversation was harassing. Also, the name of the company they gave was different from Leading Edge Recovery Solutions that was on their audio on hold greeting.

Due to health related issues I spent a few years off and on having surgeries. Having no medical insurance, and at the time, having on Medicare I used a charge card. I tried to keep up but when my social security kicked in it became impossible to pay everything so I went to this debt settlement company - Leading Edge. I started out talking with Jeovani, then Michael ** then to several clerks then I was passed over to Eric ** and then finally to a guy named Adam.

I had agreed to pay $300.00 a month and would call to let them know the payment was being sent. I am now 71 and thought I only owed two more, 300 dollar payments and wanted to break it down to $150.00 a month instead of the $300.00. Both Eric ** and Adam (whatever) would not let me get a word in edgewise. They said they had me on tape saying one thing or the other and I asked to hear those tapes. No response. Because they had my bank account routing number and account number they took money from my account that I had already programed on line with my bank to be paid. They never informed me they would be taking any money on their own.

Both Eric and Adam threatened me, intimidated me, beat up on me verbally and threatened they would call the credit card company and tell them to collect the entire debt from me as I was not cooperating with Leading Edge. When I asked what would happen to the money I already sent Leading Edge they hung up on me!

I received about 8 calls in the past 14 day from a "Darryl Rose and Assoc." I am told this is a false name used by Leading Edge Recovery so you don't know it's a collection agency calling. The phone message says to press 1 to talk to a rep. When you do, the call hangs up and you get a dial tone. This happened every time. They left a call back number of ** every time. When you call the number you get a physical therapist that has no idea what is going on. She told me she has received numerous calls for a month totaling in the hundreds. So I finally got fed up and did some research and found out who was calling. It was Leading Edge and whoever recorded their phone message transposed the phone number. I also found out some disturbing things.

They are accused of being a credit card scam company and of using many "phony names" (couldn't resist) in pursuit of their greed. I don't have or I have never had a bill go to collections. Nor have I had any dealings with a collection agency. I do, however, know that they must be licensed and follow the law. It appears this company is not doing that. I am tired of being harassed by these people for no reason and would like to file a complaint and also seek monetary damage for the harassment itself and the time involved chasing down this "company".

If they are trying to get people to pay their debts and be honorable individuals, that's fine. If Leading Edge Recovery Solutions are being deceitful in their business practices or are indeed a "scam", they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I don't understand how a company that has received so many complaints still has a license. If Leading Edge thinks people should pay for their mistakes, then Leading Edge should pay for their mistakes. Enough said.

Stated they are fraud lawyers for a bank and threatened to sue me after Bankruptcy discharge for a debt I don't owe. The account is not known to me but they have all my banking info. Stated they know my schedule and where I live and may come calling to collect the debt. They continue to call via automation. Our phone line is now recording all calls in and out.

I have recently been getting harassing phone calls from this collection agency. Today it was from tel. # 888-306-0558 and the agent stated her name was Martha **, I had her spell it. The debtor is my brother who lived in my state for a few years. Since we share the same last name, I frequently get calls about his outstanding bills. Most agencies stop calling once I make them aware that they have reached the wrong person, but Leading Edge Recovery Solutions doesn't let up. They are all extremely rude as would be expected from anyone who would work in such a **-profession.

I need to report them to the FTC or attorney generals' offices and do some more research on how to get them to stop calling. I will not pay for a certified letter to cease and desist, but am willing to file complaints electronically. Anyone who has any great ideas on how to punish these people, feel free to respond. I normally don't have to take matters very far but this company has ** greatly.

I called the number back and it was about a debt owed by me. They asked me a series of questions about my financial situation to try and set up a payment arrangement. I complied. I guess my answers weren't good enough for them. It was because they started to argue with me about how my bills were being paid. I have no bills at the moment. But for some reason that wasn't good enough for them. I was hung up on. So, I called back and asked to be directed to a manager, BJ **, with the intent to complain about the woman I first talked with. He then told me that she did nothing wrong by arguing with me. So, I asked him, "Is this the way you teach your employees to talk to people?" He said no and continued to argue with me. All I wanted to do was get this debt taken care of. He then put me on hold and never got back on the line. These people have very rude techniques.

I was contacted for an older debt. I have been out of work for over two years. I found a job two months ago. They threatened me with immediate wage garnishment if I did not pay the amount owed immediately. When told I could not, they became threatening in manner. We finally were able to set up a payment plan. They had to have checking account information, they would not accept my sending a check to them. They said they would turn the debt back to the owner where it would have interest and penalties and the debt would be much more.

After I finally agreed, they then told me there was an additional charge of $7 to have them deduct from my account. However, there would be no additional charge if I sent a check. But they would not accept a payment plan where I sent a check.

I was checking my credit report and saw that Leading Edge was categorized as a "Hard inquiry", which according to the credit bureaus means that was given permission to pull a report.

Well, no. I have never heard of them until my credit alert notified me. I then looked them up only to find that they do, and have done this to many people. This is crap, and they can not be allowed to get away with this!

In December, I was contacted by Leading Edge Recovery Services (LERS) that they purchased my debt from Chase Bank. At this time, their threats scared me enough that I set up withdrawals from my account. I got to the point where I needed help so I contacted a debt consolidator. As we were going through my credit report, we found the LERS did not even show on my credit report other than they made an inquiry to the month they contacted me. At this time, I was advised to stop payments and ask that they proved to me that this debt actually was legit. They have not done yet.

I keep getting their threatening phone calls saying I'm breaking the law by not paying them. But I told them until they can provide this debt belongs to me, they will not be getting any money from me. I've already paid them $1,500. And I'm sure I won't get any of that money back. But I'd like to know what I should do to handle this and what my legal rights are as a consumer.

I have been receiving these calls from Leading Edge Recovery for approximately 6 months. I explained that I have filed an amortization in my county and was paying bad debt through the court system. I asked to be taken off call list. These calls came in daily, sometimes I ignored and sometimes I answered. When I did answer someone was on the other end but did not speak. Tonight I answered and the person on the other end demanded to know my address. When I did not want to give it when he would not tell me his name or company, he became very abusive. He then asked for my social security number. I did not tell him this. He began harassing me, talking fast, not letting me talk and very augmentative. I hung up and he called back. I would like to know who I can contact in Wisconsin if I need to file this in my state. Otherwise I would like to speak to someone in your office.

About a month ago, we received a letter saying we owed about $3,000 on a car that we voluntarily surrendered after I was laid off. While we were trying to sort this out, we received a phone call tonight (12/22/10) about 8PM from someone giving the name Kevin **. My sister answered the phone as I was out of the room. He would not say whom he was, just gave us a number to call back (800-608-5350, ext 157) and an agency name (Leading Edge). The whole thing seemed suspicious, so we looked it up and found numerous complaints about the company, pertaining to their attempting to collect on bogus debts as well as many lawsuits, including one by the Illinois Attorney General! The loan was in my name, as well as my elderly grandmother's. The debt was paid off in full, and Chase auto finance has not notified us of any outstanding debt, or about anything at all in the nearly two years since. This seemed like an attempt to take advantage of a senior citizen, and that is disgusting. Especially at Christmas time. We will not be fooled, but these people need to be stopped!

Contacted regarding "dept purchased from another company". Proceeded to go into details with my personal information. I stated that I did not have knowledge of debt he is referring to and wanted to do some checking. He proceeded to tell me not to hang up. I told him that I would not continue the call or discuss anything with him until I knew what he was talking about and that I was going to hang up the phone. He began taunting in in a sarcastic voice asked why would you hang up? If you don't know what this is why would you hang up? This continued for a few more seconds and then he asked if I was sitting in front of a computer? I then told him I was hanging up the phone and as he began the taunting again, I hung up.

I keep receiving calls from this number, mostly real early in the morning. Sometimes they leave a message, but it just says that I should call "Steven B" back and it never says why. I've tried to call back, but have only reached an answering machine that again only says Steven B. I reached someone the other day 6/10/10 but the person didn't speak English well and I couldn't hear them well anyways because the background was so loud. I think he asked me if I was "Autumn something". I kept asking what this place was, but he wouldn't answer me, so I just hung up. I googled the number and found out that it was Leading Edge Recovery Solutions, a collection agency. I do not owe anyone money. Apparently, many others have had the same problems with harassing phone calls from this number as well.

I got a free 7-day supply and was sent a 30-day supply right after the free supply. They took the money out of my checking account without me telling them that I even wanted the 30-day supply. Then they sent out another 30-day supply 2 weeks later. I called and cancelled and when I called again, they had no record of me cancelling. Now I'm waiting for my refund for both returned shipments.

It's been almost 30 days for the first shipment and no money back in my account. They told me it could be May 12-16, 2010 before I get both refunds. I called and cancelled on April 2, 2010. I needed that money and did not authorize them to send me anymore than the free 7-day supply.They just took it out automatically when that money was needed elsewhere to pay other bills and it cut me short. I still can't get straight answers. They keep extending the time of my refund!

About a year ago, I was contacted by Leading Edge Recovery Solutions, at that time, they said I would have to send them 6 pro-rated checks for 50.00 dollars which I did, after 6 months they called and was yelling at me and saying I should pay more and that I should not pay other bills and pay them, anyway I sent them in 6 more checks they cashed one a month per agreement when that ran out I decide I would pay payment on my own and not send any more checks to them, so I made a 50 dollar payment to them and it was taken out of my account....just a few day ago they withdrew 57 dollars out of my account automatically, I have never given them permision to take anything out of my account. When I called LERS and told them I never approved or agreed about them taking funds out of my account. Then when I asked about the payment through my bank, they said they have never received it, but then when I called my bank they said it was cashed and to stop them from taking money out of my account, I would have to close it.

I received a call from an unavailable number, some woman identified herself, but she was speaking so fast I could not understand who or where she was calling from. I asked her again and told her let me get a notepad and pen so I can write down the information. She spelled out her name and said that she was from Leading Edge Recovery Solutions. She said that this was regarding my Sears account which was sold to Citibank. They were attempting to collect my debt.

I have been working with a debt management company since July 2009. Gianna stated that Sears rejected my program and that her company, Leading Edge, does not work with third party agencies and they do not have to. She advised they sent several letters. I advised her I received 1 letter last week from their office. She then began yelling at me like I was child on how I was trying to get out of paying my debt. I could not get one word in, and every time I attempted, she said I was just trying to get out of paying.

I was not saying a word to hear her yell and then she said, "I will make my recommendation about your account," and hung up on me. She called trying to collect 50% of monthly payments, but since I could not get a word in, they got nothing. I will contact my agency on Monday to advise of the phone call. The call was recorded on their side as she advised me. Maybe her manager should listen because I was fully compliant until she started yelling at me. This call lasted 6 minutes and 20 seconds on my cell phone.

My wife received a voice mail (at work) from a woman who identified her self as "Miss **" and said she had an important business matter to discuss with her and to call her back by 5:00 PM. I made the call for her and spoke with someone at Leading Edge. Never having heard of the company, I asked what they do and I was told "lots of different things."

Eventually, they gave me the "This is an attempt to collect a debt." line which is how I finally knew they were a collection agency. They then started talking to me about a $3000.00 debt from 2004 that I did not owe. In fact, another collection agency had tried to sue us in 2007 for this same debt. When their attorney tried muscling us into paying it, I sent them copies of my records and requested that they furnish proof that we owed any money. They were unable to furnish any proof of the debt, and their own attorney then had the case dismissed.

Since then, the debt (even though it is invalid) has since been sold to Leading Edge. I was curious how many times they can make a run at a person once a case has been dismissed in court. So I contacted our attorney. I got some good news after I did that. Leading Edge screwed up! Our attorney told me that Leading Edge is currently ,in violation of at least three different laws in my case. He has initiated a lawsuit against them and has assured us that (even after subtracting out legal fees) Leading Edge will end up paying us significantly more money than they are claiming we owe.

One thing you should all know though is that I found out that even if a debt is not valid, a collection agency that holds the debt can sell it to another collection agency to get their money back. The next collection agency can then go after the debtor to try to get them to pay it. Even if the debt is bogus. The logic is that if they pressure and threaten you enough, you'll pay it just to make them go away. If this ever happens to you, the key is to keep good records and document everything, including the conversations you have with the collection agencies. I'll let you know how much Leading Edge is forced to pay us after the suit is settled.

Approximately 2 months ago, they began calling 2-3x day to one of my new employees at her work phone. When I called them to see what it was about, they said they were trying to reach some man who I have never heard of and this phone number has been assigned to one of my staff members for at least 10 years. They said they removed it from their call list but it has recently started up again. I had to change the phone number at our cost.

Settled an agreement with them. I agreed to over night my cashier's check to them. Unfortunately, it is lost in Chicago and never made it to them. This was done on Nov. 24. They wanted me to stop payment on it. Well my Credit Union needs a stop payment form signed and faxed back to send to our Corporate Office for approval so they can reimburse me the money so I can pay these people. They are refusing to sign this form and don't know why they have to do this. It has been explained to them many times why and they are delaying the process. On Dec. 24 will be a month and they said there is no more they can do. When I sent the check out on Nov. 24, they tried to with draw the money from my bank account the next day without my approval. This is a large amount of money.

In April of 2009. A number that I missed showed up on my phone so I called it back. Melody answered the phone and at first she was nice. We went over my budget information and wondered about some thing on my credit report. She wonderd if I could use a credit card that I haven't used. I told her no because I was sharing an account with a family member.

Then she started barking at me and asked me if I was refusing? I said yes. Then she said she'd take action. I called back the next day and told them I was expecting a check. The represenitive said she would foward that. Melody calls me back the next morning and asked about the check. She kept insisting for to use the discovers card.

Then she tranfered the call to her manager Michael. He said he would report me at fraud. I called back late that day and told him I didn't apriciate that. He said it was nothing personal but still that wasn't right. Then Meloday called again and still inssited on using the dicovers card. I said no. She snapped at me again.

I called and talked to MIchael and He didn't seem to care. So I'm not with them anymore but I don't want them doing this to anyone else. I want to take action against them.

Leading Edge Recovery Solutions, LLC is calling from 888- is calling to speak to me at my place of business during 9-5 business hours; attempting to collect a debt from me. One agent discussed the debt amount, the account and bank if was from with a fellow co-worker who answered one of their calls. I think they have violated some privacy laws by doing all the above.

This has caused un needed attention towards me as rumors of this debt collection call are now circulating within my company. My boss has also asked me about the debt collection call rumor and asked if I was in any trouble or if he should get HR involved. I told my boss I would seek help through a consumer help group or lawfirm

I do not have an address for the above. They contacted me on behalf of my CC company that I am in default due to loss of work. Steve Taylor called my sister's house and stated to my brother-in-law it had to due with my mothers estate and she passed away 6 years ago and today a neighbor(who I don't even know) knocked on my door and said that he called her to get in touch with me and it was a very important matter and I needed to call by 8pm this evening.

When I called him he was rude at times telling me to take responsibility and I needed to do something today or his firm would have to take action. I understand that I am behind but I did explain that I have been out of work and when I do work it is not alot and that we were just barely getting by with paying necessities. He told me to call family or friends and borrow money from them. I stated I would not do that and borrowing money that I don't know when I could pay back was already the position I am in now. He told me to swallow my pride.

I can not believe that this type of treatment is professional or allowed. I truly did not wish to be in the situation I am in but the economy crumbled and my business is in aesthetics and people are not spending and that I am hardly working. We are struggling to survive. I told him I could pay $100.00 today and $25.00 a month. He was insistant on more. Please let me know if these practices are legal. Thank you.

I was contacted by Leading Edge recovery solution (LERS) by phone and told i was owed a debt and when i further questioned him he told me the information he had was that the people of banana repubilc try to find me to collect the debt but they do not find me. I said I dont know if I should pay it because I have a good credit and I pay my debt .

I never receive a letter, I said please tell me the address that appears in your information because I live in the same address since 18 years ago. They read the address and the address was complete incomplete and with this general address (only stree and country) they never could find me. I give my address and requqest they send to my house address (not by email because i believe was a fraud)the request for the owe to be paid.

I request they talk with the credit agency because i do not have problem to pay again ( because I can not find my receipt or proof of payment)but they need to clarify its error in the consumenr agency. But they do not want help me i provide the evidence of my signature in the payment they said I did and not pay. I dont want bad credit.

This is the worst company I ever worked for. It is very unprofessional and shows favoritism. You are underpaid and they expect you to perform miracles on charged off accounts. I was fired because I was not mean and aggressive enough. I was told that because of not making goal and finishing up at 71 percent for the last 3 months that I was being let go. You can't force no one to pay a bill all you can do is inform them of the balance due and work from there. Majority of the company collectors are rude and are hand fed (accounts given to them that they do not have to work just collect the money). If you are not kissing upper management ass you don't get the good accounts. I am a single parent of 3 children that lives with me and have to take care of them I took the job to support my family and keep a home for them now what am I to do.

My son had a bill from HSBC for a bow flex he had bought several years ago, then lost his job and was unable to pay. I decided to help him out so my son gave me the phone number to this company and I called them. Their collectors are for lack of a better word "unprofessional" They come up with a bunch of crap and lies. They tell you one thing and say they have to get it taken care of today. I know they just want to make money but they are in fact unreasonable.

I told them I wanted our agreement emailed to me then I would make the first payment they would not do it. I don't trust that they will do what they say because first they offered a 20% down payment plan then $57.00 a month. I told them I would call them back in two days and I did exactly what I said I would do. They changed the payment plan to 20% down and 79.00 dollars a month and basically told me that I was making a big deal out of nothing. These people are the kind of collectors that stress out older people and cause their health problems they should be put OUT OF BUSINESS!

Neighbor received a call from Mr. T on the Evening of October 6, 2009. Mr. T had been looking for a Mr. Karl --- name spelled out when neighbor brought note over. I took the note to contact the company adv by one rep that Mr. T was with a client she tried to transfer me over another female asso answered and stated that he was not in at all when questioned the validity of her statement became rude and would no longer speak to me. Mr. T called the following morning and when I answered refused to provide me the nature of the call or what account he seem to be holding for my husband.

My biggest concern is for my elderly neighbors who are inconvienced by this all. I am fearful that Leading Edge will continue to bother them if they do not reach us during the day. I do not have an ansereing machine or VM on home phone, I tried to have to agree to not make any further contact with the neighbors but as you of Collectors, Mr T immediately went into his spill of making sure my husband calls him and the like. Is it legal for an agency to go to that length to locate a client. I did speak w/my husband, and he did state that he had been receiving calls for someone with the same first/last name as his and that they were for someone els. While typing this up I received another call from the agency. And so it begins.

received a debt collection letter from above stating I owed over $1500 from old Sears account. I haven't had a Sears card in several years. Sent a cease and desist letter to them by certified mail. If they continue, I will notify my NYS Attorney Generals Office. I disputed the valdity of this debt.

Received a collection letter for a checking account with Chase that I had closed a couple of years ago due to fraudulent activity. I opened a new account with Chase (Wamu at the time), they helped us close the old account, refund the fraudulent charges, etc. We had no balance on the old acct. I called and spoke with a rep from LER and they asked if I had paperwork to verify I did not owe the debt. I'm sure I did, but told them I would contact Chase myself, since my current accounts and mortgage were through them. He didn't seem to have much to say, but again asked me when I could provide proof I didn't owe the money. I do not owe on this old checking account. This is a fraud...they are trying to scam. My fear is that they must have received some information somehow...they have the last 4 of my SSN and the last 4 of my old bank account for sure, as well as my address. I looked online and see several similar complaints and am confused as to why this company is still allowed to operate? They need to be shut down.

i recieved a call today on my cell phone telling me that i owned 1103.22 on an old credit card...i told him that i have been paying monthy on that since last summer with another collection agency...only 1 or 2 payments from having it removed from my credit report...he told me that as of this morning the account had been placed with them and i now owe the whole amount of 1103.22 (it was down to a mere 375.00) from 1700.00 on a plains commerce card that had a 300 dollar limit...(in 1999)...

i know that should be off my record now, but everytime it gets sold to another collection agency it gets opened as a new past due account...so i thought paying off a settled amount would be done with it....but i guess they can take the small amount left owed just when its almost paid in full, then sell it and start all over again....the moral being...never trust them...you'll never get it paid off...so why bother...im so mad i could spit nails@@@@ I got in touch with the collection rep from the company ive been paying and he was unaware that it had been sent to leading edge, he is checking into it....the company ive beeen paying is financial recovery....

I am writing in reference to my mom who is 89yrs old and has alzheimer Diseae, she was being contacted on the phone by reps. from the above company saying they brought her account from Sears and she owes $6.000 they would get her so upset and confused that finally I would intercept the calls . I have been sending money to this company I started by sending them a money order, they called and said they don't accept money orders thethen told me to Western Union the money each month and call with the tracking number I have been doing this for my mom., but after taking with some people who said why are they requesting cash when a money order is just as good as cash so this month I wired the money I didn't call them after but the next day I went to western union to cancel the transaction they had picked up the money.

I called the company to request their address she asked my name I told the woman I spoke with she said we don't give out our address I gave my moms name and told her I was no longer wiring them money because I have never received a bill from them I don't even know if the monies are being put on her account, they had told my mom before they would take het to court I want to know if a 89yr old with alzheimers who has no recollection of a Sears acct. can be liable to pay this agency. I would like to know what I can do I am not under any obligation to pay my moms bill I was trying to help but the woman I spoke with got smart with me telling me they do not send out bills I don't know anything about the bill, have never seen a bill and I have refused to send another cent I have probably sent about $1,000 I am not sure but I could find out.

I do not know anything about this company but I do not know of any company that refuse to take money orders I obtained the above address by calling the company after hours and it was on a recording yet the woman I spoke with said we don't give it out and we do not accept any sort of correspondence from clients.When my mom was being called a gentleman upset her by saying they were going to take her to court and she was even told they could take anything she owned. I gave them my number and told therm her condition I have even been paying $200.00 a month but I will no longer be doing it since I am under no obligation and I can't even get a bill

recieved a collection letter from them...and this is what people need to know...DO NOT be intimidated by them...they buy junk debts for pennies on the dollar along with other companies...when one in thier circle can't collect they pass it on to another that they do business with....I read some of these posts..for one there is a statuate of limitations on collections..I'm nj ..my state it's 6 yrs...most are less...2. They have to provide you with a copy of the contract from the original creditor who the account was with that states that they are acting on thier behalf....

3. In new jersey they have to be bonded to act as debt collectors in this state.... Not liscenced....bonded..these are two different things and most of these people are not... Check the laws in your state as I'm in nj.....if ya have access to Internet google search the name of the collector under complaints or consumer fraud... You will be surprised at what you find.... Hope this helps some of ya....

While checking my credit report, I noticed an inquiry from this company. I'm trying to slowly re-establish my credit status after some life issues and while I do owe some money out, my debt isn't all that bad. The only inquiry (which affects my FICO score) is from this company for no reason!

I haven't applied for any credit lately and quite frankly don't know why they would inquire about my credit status in the first place! If they're trying to collect a debt, knocking down my credit rating isn't going to help!

They called on 5/13/09 and told us if we didnt pay what they wanted they would sue us and we would be paying all court costs so if we were smart we better pay up. They were rude and nasty and I also lost my temper with them as well. I kept trying to explain I was a laid off auto worker and my wife recently had a quintiple heart bypass.I have 26 dollars in my checking but they want to know since my house has not been current for months what am I do with that money?I could not get them to understand we have no money so I said good bye.

My wife was extremley upset so she called the next day 5/14 to see again if we could get a hardship arrangement. She has memory loss and confusion problems so they got her to agree to a ept on 5/31 and 6/30. They were very agressive and nasty so she was scared.

When I found out she had down this we did some research online and found out scare tactics are how this company works.She called our bank and they said to call and tell them our account has been frozen due to fradulant behavior.They hit the roof ,said we were liars and now we had till 3:00 tp pay my wife just hung up.I think Id rather go to court than send money to this company.Help!

This T. Stevenson contacyed me at my place of business and told me that I owed 900 + dollars for a credit card from 1998. I respectully asked why he was calling me at my place of employment and that he remove this # from his list and that I do not owe any money to them. he got very aggressive...told me he would continue to call me and demanded that I pay him . I refused to speak any more then he started to disclose personal information about me and then I told him to stop calling. He said he will continue to call and didn't care if I lost my job because of it.

I am extremely upset and scared of what this man will do with my personal information and also get me fired by harassing myself and others at my place of employment.

As a result of once being an irresponsible teenager with a credit card, I'm not paying Leading Edge Recovery Solutions for a Chase Manhattan card I used to have. I've been paying $40.20/month for the past 12 months. Today, I received a call from Leading Edge saying that my hardship period had run out and I had to pay the remaining balance in full. When I explained that wasn't an option, they tried to say that my payment per month would have to be increased to $50/month. I explained that as a full time student, I don't have a lot of extra money and I would have to stick to my $40.20/month plan.

When they heard that, they resorted to intimidation and scare tactics telling me that if I didn't agree to the higher amount they would be forced to put me on a calling list; calling me everyday until I could agree to the $50/month. Eventually, I was transferred to a supervisor who played good guy and acted like he was doing me a favor by allowing me to stay on my current payment plan, but informed me that he would be calling me back in 6 months to try to boost the amount I'm paying... After reading other complaints about this company, I'm worried that I may be getting ripped off. Does anyone know if I can contact Chase Manhattan directly or if I have to continue dealing with Leading Edge???

Leading Edge Recovery services is attemping to collect 442.86 for a cell phone bill that I have no record of. I am certain there is a misunderstanding, and have (via certified letter) attempt to get more information from Leading Edge Recovery Solutions on on this bill. They are refusing to supply or even discuss the bill. Rather my family has been receiving approximately 4 phone calls a day, (some days less, some days more). I am sending another letter asking them to stop harassing me.

Received a call from this company stating that we owed approximately $3,000 on an MBNA account that has been closed since 1998. We have never heard anything about this until this month when they called. We advised that we do not owe anything and for them to forward some correspondence in writing demonstrating that we owed any debt and who they were. They refused to provide any documentation and continue to call knowing that no debt is owing at all.

We are being harrassed and threatened causing extreme emotional distress.

Female caller asked me for my name and SSN. When I asked her why she stated it was a personal matter. She then asked me if it was me except she called me by my maiden name and if I was at a address from more than 10 years ago. I told her there was no one here by that name and hung up. She called back and rudedly and loudly told me she knew it was me. I hung up again. Since then I have received several calls from the same number.

They call and say I owe them money from 9 plus years ago. They harras my wife which I'm sure she has nothing to do with what ever they are tring to collect. They are rude and use foul langage and verbal threats. I thought anything over 7 years was the statue of limitations.

They say they will keep calling and harassing me and my wife as much as they want because that is whjat they do.

Called, spoke with my mother, told her about a debt I had with with AT&T from 2004. Never had a debt with them.

On August 26th, this company called my house, my mothers house & my work for 3 days straight. I called back and they demanded a payment for a credit card acct. They basically held me on the phone until I set something up with them. To get off the phone, I did. My mistake, I called back to try and change dates on the payment arrangemnt due to my financial situation and still have balance paid @ same time.

they were rude said they could not do. which I find hard to believe. Since, I have called to cancel the arrangements because I do not want to deal with these people, they hung up and said good luck. Now they have my acct info and I am sure they are going to try and debit my acct. if anyone knows how to stop this agency it needs to be done, all the complaints I have read about this company are exactly what I experienced. Help! they need to stop harrassing people they way they do, especially with the economic situation.

Have been recving alot of calls on my cell phone which is on the natl. do not call list.

I received upwards of 10 phone calls a week from this company. When I finally answered they said my wages would be garnished ($200/mth) if I didn't give them my bank account #. I gave them my number and they've been taking 42.00 a month.

I asked for written proof of my debt and never received it. I have no idea how to get ahold of this company. They told me that I would have to pay the remaining balance in September.

I'm a full time student and was working part time. Because I was told I would have to pay the remaining balance in full, I am now working full time and going to school full time!

This man called my house during the day while I was at work. He left an unprofessional message on my answering machine. He could not pronounce my last name, even though I had previously told him my name when I told him I wasn't paying what he said I owed. I couldn't understand the extension number he left on the answering machine. Of course when I called him back he had already left for the day.

The guy who answered the phone for him (after going through 3 People and being put on hold 3 times) was rude. He asked how he could help me and when I started to tell he quickly told me to call back in the morning! I don't know what these people do all day but I work and I don't get home most days until after 6:00 p.m. EST.

Nothing except it really infuriates me when collection agencies such as this try to intimidate me/others.

LETTER WRITTEN TO THE PRESIDENT AND CEO OF LEADING EDGE RECOVERY SOLUTIONS (ANTHONY CREWS) TO INFORM HIM OF THE SITUATION AND MY PLANS TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE & CONSUMER SERVICES, DIVISION OF CONSUMER SERVICES--AUGUST 17, 2008.

After repeatedly telling this debt collector to cease calling my business phone, they continued. Also, they have threatened to file a lawsuit (which is illegal unless they inted to file). They also demanded post-dated checks. Also, they tried to manipulate my words to say that I was refusing to pay a debt, when in fact I told them exactly how much I could pay/month. Extremely rude on the phone, won't listen to you, and demands personal information about my credit and who I owe money to.

I have now sent them written documentation stating to no telephone communications will be accepted from them anymore. However, I fear they will continue calling my place of employment because on the employees here took a message from them the other day not knowing it was a personal phone call.

Leading Edge stated in their phone call to me that since someone took a message for me, that I apparently am allowed to receive personal phone calls at work. I spent at least an hour the other day dealing with this company on work time because they contacted me here at work. It finally took me hanging up on them to get them off my business phone.

I received a letter from Leading Edge Recovery, saying I had about $3,000 debt with them. I called. They said its a CITI bank credit card. I NEVER had one. I aksed them several times during the conversation to give me info on the original debt so I can track it down. the person told me to call Capitol One Finance, which seemed odd b/c this was a "citi bank" issue. I called capitol one...they have no idea when Im talking about. I called back Leading Egde. I told them capitol one doesn't have me on their records. He said that I needed to figure out what card this was and then pay them (leading edge). I hung up.

I got a call today at 9:02 am. (Saturday). I spoke to a gentleman. I explained, very politiley, that this is not my debt and I need the originator of this debt. I was told in no uncerntain terms that they didn'T know who it was and that I had to get a copy of my credit report and track it that way. I told him that he was the only collecting and I sholdnt have to find out who he was collecting for. then I told him that all legitimate collection agencies tape their call. So i was going on record that he or the compnay is never to call me again. he started screaming at me. I hung up.

They have called about 17 times since June 5, 2008. They ask me if Robert (my son) is there. I say no, he doesn't live here. He moved out in 1992. They want his phone number and I give it to them. I can't make him answer. I have 7 recordings of a Michael Cunningham leaving a message. They are all the same, so they have to be a recording. This company calls almost every day and leaves a message if I am not home, but don't call on the week-ends.

I am not the one they are after, and they are harassing me. After I talk to them, my heart is beating fast and hard, I'm sure it stirs up my blood pressure I am 64 years old and see a cardiologist. Is this elder abuse?

I spoke to James who is the Manager and explained that I and my sisters have power of attorney over my mother. I told him that a letter was recvd by the company and I wanted to find out the details about it. My sister told me that she call the number on the letter and the person that she spoke to said that my mothers Sears acct was turned over to them on June 12, 2008. My sister also mentioned that the person she spoke to said that a payment of $2184.50 was received but came back NSF. I told her that it didn't make sense so I decided to call to find out more about it. After being transfer several times and getting someone rude I asked to speak to the manager.

I was transferred to someone by name of James and he advised me that I was being recorded which I told him that was fine. I told him that I was inquiring about the letter my mother received and about the person that called. I also advise him that my mother is medically ill and that we were told last week by her doctor that her condition has worsen and that my immediate family needs to be aware that my mother will no longer be with us. My mother is 82 years old and on top on all the medical problems she also has alzheimers.

I told James that if he wanted a letter from her doctor we could get one. I also told him that with his company calling her it wouldn't look good in his favor because of her conditions. James told me that he was not aware of her condition when someone from his company called her and demanded payment. James told me that the account number information that was taken over the phone was a closed acct and I advised him that my mother has never closed any acct. He told me that he was listening to the recording on the phone and then he then came back to me that the information given came from a credit union.

I told James that the recording information that he was listening to is evidence that my mother has Alzehmers and not in her right mind. James told me that the information given to them would be considered fraud by my mother. I want to take some kind of action against this company for the way they handle their business in trageting elderly people and taking advantage of these sort of people. My mother has a lost of memory and it seems to be getting worst and with the decline in her health being close to passing I don't appreciate the way things are handled.

Call came into my home in the morning. First heard a recording, asking me to stay on the line, press 1 to be contacted or call an 800#. I didn't wait to hear the 800#, pressed 1 to be connected figuring whoever answered would let me know what info about who was calling. A Javon Lopez, or so he said, announced his name, asked him to repeat it and asked the nature of his call. He told me hold on, I will connect you to a representative. I insisted that he tell me who he was, calling from where and for what reason but he was persistent in telling me he would connect me with someone who would tell me. I told him I would hang up if he didn't tell me who he was calling for, then he told me Leading Edge Recovery Solutions and put me through to a phone that rang between 10-15 times.

Just as I was about to hang up, a man said 'hello, who's this?'. I asked him who he was and he asked me who I was. This went back and forth until I got so aggravated I told him 'put me on your do not call list'. He said: 'I can't, YOU called ME!' I reminded him he called me but he persisted that I called him at which point I thought some perverts were playing some idiotic game and I cursed, which is unlike me, and the guy wouldn't hang up. Each time I went to pick up my phone, he was still there. It took at least 2 min. before he disconnected. I then dialed *69, got the number as being the last number which called my phone. I called the number only to get a recording that said this number was connected to National Directory Service and the cost to call it was $5.49. The recording continued with more info that I can't remember.

I called my phone company to report this method of calling my home as I was concerned it was some scam to cause my phone to be connected to some business phone which would cause me a charge. While on the phone with the phone company, I checked online and found this site and others with complaints for Leading Edge Recovery Solutions. Bottom line, I spent too much time with this call coming into my home and there's no resolution.

ULCERS, AGGRAVATION, HOME INVASION BY PHONE!

Leading Edge Recovery Solutions sent me a letter offering a settlement and PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS if I could not pay the settlement amount. I sent a payment and contacted the office. I was told a totally different amount. I tried to make payment arrangements and the collector would not give me any details. I informed the collector that I would continue to make payments and pay the balance in full within 60 days. He kept saying there will be late fees and finance charges. I said what will those be. He said he didn't know. Because of my financial problems I have been working with a number of collection agencies. I have made arrangements and paid them in full. The balance did not increase as I made them payments. Why does it with this collection agency?

I consider the conversation deceitful and uncooperative. I want to pay this debt as soon as possible. This collector should not send false information in the mail.


I am writing to you because I have a problem with the Collection agency called Leading Edge Recovery Solutions. They have been calling me and being extremely rude to me.They would demand the whole amount right now. And if you would tell them you can't make the payment then they still demand the money now.

They would not set up payment arrangements.They are yelling at me and making me feel like a loser.I have forgotten all about this account and had explained to them that I hadn't recieved any notice or anything about the account until their call. I did recieve a letter from them 5 days after there first call.I talked to 4 different people and all of them hung up on me.I was not rude to them at all.

I looked on the internet to see who this company is and found that there is a law suit pending from the District Attorney's Office of the state of Illinois. I called them and they wanted me to fill out the complaint form on there website. Apparentely there being very rude to other's too.There was at that time 168 complaints against them.I really don't want to send these people money until I know there legitimate. I also read that they harass people even though there paid up. They also have called people derogatory names. I feel that they could've come up with a reasonable payment plan to pay on this debt. I just started a new job after being out of work for 7 months. I told them this and they said they don't care, It's not there problem. I think they are very inconciderate. The calls don't stop. I feel there harrassing me.



The company kept calling me and harassing me for money They wanted me to set up a payment arrangement or pay the full amount.


I I was forced to make a payment arrangement over the phone and with my checking account and they tell me they don't accept payment from my bank account on the Internet to their company now i have a ten dollar service fee i don't have the kind of money for it. I live on a fixed income



I keep getting harrassing calls at all times of the day and night and weekends saying I owe money for accounts from years ago that I never had


I am ill with heart problems and high blood pressure and this always results in me getting angry from arguing with them as they do not take they are not mine and do not call me for an answer.


My 73 old mother (who cosigned for me) received a threating phone call that she owed this debt she stated she would have to talk with her daughter (me). They threatened her with a lawsuit several times she told them that she would do payment arangements with them if they would mail her out something showing what we owed. She also told them that maybe she would pay this off in full if again they could mail us out something but she would have to talk with me first.

They than contacted me told me I owed this HUGE amount but they would lower it to 6800 if I paid it in one lump sum. I told them I didnt think I could get a loan for that amount. I than started to ask for something in writing they got really upset said they were recommending a legal action against this account because we were not working with them. I again stated I would like to make payment arrangements on this account she said NO they only way was to pay this off in full. This is just a brief description about the harassment they inflicted on us It was the most unbelievable harassment I have ever recieved and I am not kidding.


My 73 old mother who is not in the greatest health was very upset she is extremely fragile and now she is sick and all worried that they are going to come after her.


My boyfriend purchased a motorcycle and it was reposessed. We attempted to make back payments before they took the bike but they would not accept it. When the collection agency started calling our home repeatedly while he was at work they eventually called his work. Michelle would call him numerouse times a day and repeatedly ask for unrealistic amounts of money for payment.

One afternoon she called our home and a friend who we had watching our children while we were working answered as she usually does and Michelle said to her boy they are never home when I call, aren't they EVER home to see their children? and then implied that my friend was having an improper relationship with my boyfriend.

At the same time I came home and my friend gave me the phone, the woman then went on to tell me that my boyfriend had agreed to pay a certain amount of money that he did not agree to and that they would put a lein on him and that they would take it to court and that it was on his credit report. At this time she was being so unreasonably rude on the phone that I got out of control with anger. I told her they needed to stop calling him at work because he almost lost his job over this. She then put another man on the phone and I told him that we would pay what we could. They are now calling him again and saying that he has to make a payment.

We have no problem with that we have to make a payment but what we have a problem with is that the bike payment itself when we had it was only 100.00 every month and now they want 1800.00 down and 250 per month that was actually what they wanted over the summer I am not sure what they amount is they are asking for now but we cannot afford that amount and we have told them this repeatedly. When we tell them the amount that we can reasonably afford they tell us that they cannot accept it. I do not understand why they cannot accept it as long as we make a payment. I would really appreciate some info on our rights and how to be able to pay our debt without loosing everything we have. We have 2 children that we provide for and only 1 income I do not work because of health reasons and so that I can stay home with my children.


My boyfriend cannot get any kind of credit now, we are affraid that they will garnish his tax retun which we need desperately to get us cought up on our back bills so we don't loose our place to live. This whole thing has caused alot of stress and has put a huge stain on both of us. We would like to pay something on it but I really don't understand how we owe them as much as they say we do. I think that they are charging us more than we actually owe.

Mr. Hernado has been calling me at work, telling me on the first call that they work with an Attorny office and that if I didn't settle my account within 3 days that it would go up for review and they would do whatever is neccessary to file legal proceedings to collect on my debt. They would add a bunch of legal fees to the account, and it would substantually change this whole collection process. After I was unable to make payment, they called again and have offered 3 options for payment, pay a lump sum on credit card at 60% of face value, make 2 payments at 70% of face value, or make 3 payments on 80% of face value. After the 4th phone call to my office they are offering a hardship plan that requires 33% up front, and then smaller monthly payments for 6 months but all has to be done upfront with post dated checks and set dates. After reading the artical listed on this site, I am very uncomfortable giving any information to this company. I am willing to pay what I can afford but they are pushing for amounts that I cannot commit to.

If I setup the arrangements they are asking for than I will not be able to make agreed payment with other creditors. I don't know that since I have not gone to far with this collection agency that I have a lost yet but if this persists than I will definetly be pursuing my options. Thanks.



I received a half dozen phone calls each day at work from Mr. Gomez of Leading Edge. He spoke with employees and he spoke with my employer regarding my debt. He threatened my employer, that she would be in legal trouble, because I was a partner in the business, he claimed. He said that he would have the police sent to my work and that he would have my wages garnished. He called my fellow employee and my employer nobodies and losers and berated them repeatedly. Even after they asked him not to call, he called. Even after they said that it is illegal to call and discuss my personal matters with them, he still called and did so.
I have not even been informed as to what, if any debt I owe...I do not even know why this bottom feeder is calling. I am keeping a journal of all the calls I receive, as are the people with whom I work. This behavior is not to be tolerated.


The business suffers in that my fellow employees are constantly fielding calls from Mr. Gomez or being harassed by him. What's more, they are stressed out and unable to maintain an effective attitude for work after being belittled by him on a repeated basis.

I have been embarrassed and it has impacted my employer's attitude towards me.


I received numerous call at home and at work regarding a debt from Sears Mastercard that I do not posses. Leading Edge stated that I owed $1700 to the account which is NOT the same account number as my Sears store card. I was threatened that Leading Edge with Sears permission sue me for the amount and I will end up paying large legal fees. The supervisor I spoke to was very rude and to be frank an ass to me on the phone and kept calling me at work after I asked him not too. I really hope you get a conviction or settlement from this company because they are not professional at all!!


In Sept. 2006, I received several calls about a credit card my daughter had through Bank of America. Her credit limit was $1500. They threatened legal action against her & wanted payment of $2545. I told them I could only make monthly installments of $150, to which they finally agreed. They stated that debt would be paid off by March 2007, which I questioned.

When they continued to withdraw $150 from my account after March 2007, I called them & was informed that I was mistaken. They continue to charge interest, fees, & penalties & claim that they are not a collection agency. They said they represent investors who bought this loan! They call me often to try to settle & are not happy when I tell them I cannot pay more than $150 per month. I have made 13 payments of $ 150, $1950, & still owe $1087 according to them. Just this week they began calling me to tell me my contract was up. I never signed or received any contract or any paper work from them other than monthly statements saying they are deducting $150 from my checking account.


I agreed to pay this to keep them from taking legal action against my daughter. However, I settled another of her accounts for less than 1/2 of what the balance was. I have complained to Leading Edge that I don't think an account that is closed & turned over to collections should continue to be charged interest, penalties & late fees!


They continue to contact me (upwards of 4-6 times a day--earliest call was 7:45am cst and latest was 10:00pm cst) for student loans that my son (Ronald W. Klosterman II) took out when he was 26 years old. I have given them the contact information of my son each time but they yell at me and my husband (who happens to be Ronald W. Klosterman I) for my son's delinquencies. They have told me that they would ruin my son's credit and hound me till he pays up. I did not take these loans out and I am not responsible for these people's lending practices. They Loaned money to my son when he was unemployed & unsecured at that!!! How is this my problem?

I have asked them not to contact me but they told me that they would continue until he paid. It is almost as if they expect me to pay his bills. They have given me my son's loan amounts along with his Social Security number over the phone, which I believe is against the law according to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I believe that this is ultimately harassment and against the law. I told them not to do that and the lady laughed at me.


I am 67 and my husband is 70. My husband has had 3 heart surgeries in the past 4 months and has been in the hospital ER 13 times since January. I am really worried that this harassment will ultimately lead to my or my husband's death. This is elder abuse not to mention we have kindly asked them not to call, explaining fully the above situations. They refuse and said they would not stop until they had my son on the line.


I was working and received a call from this company telling me I better pay the Bank of America card debt I owed from when I was married.. He told me he would take my property and I better pay by 2o'clock today... I know I owe this debt but when it was in collections with a different lawyer, my mother would write out a check each month and when she asked the lawyer for a balance he would not respond so my mother told them if they do not she would not send any more checks..

I asked the guy last night not to call me at work and he said he was going to call my boss and if he sent a letter with acct. number and balance owed I would pay each month until the debt is paid.. He was so rude he had me in tears.. I can not afford to pay all at once, he told me to put it on someones credit card, I cannot do that.. I am a single mother with a disabled child, and I work part time.


Several months ago I began receiving phone calls for my son, Phillip. (He moved out 3 years ago and has all his mail and phone call to his home.) I told them that he hasn't lived here in 3 years. They would ask for his phone number and I would ask why. Over a period of months they have called me nosy, that it was not any of my business, and many other things.

They have been rude and would not tell me who they were. Only resently I have found out that it was a collection agency and it was Aspire Visa making the claim. I have never received a bill from Aspire Visa for my son because all his mail goes to his home. He says he has never had an Aspire Visa. But if he had, he would would have used his address and phone number.


They had been harassing us for months now. We work 2nd shift so we go to bed late. I have lost a lot of sleep from their calling early in the morning. I quit answering the phone because it is always them. I have never been treated in this manner by anyone. I have always been easy to get along with and I always try to help when I can. When all of this began, I thought my son might be having problems and was willing to pay the bill if I knew what it was. That was before all have transpired, and no way now. I am working 7 days a week and want this to stop.


I am currently dealing with Leading Edge to make good on a credit card debt due to Best Buy (HSB) I was told when I called on Friday August 3, that I called just in time because action was going to be taken against me for fraud on Monday August 6th at 8:00 am. My conversation from Friday August 3 was not docummented correctly, which I discovered after calling back on Saturday August 4th. I am afraid that this company may take unauthorized withdrawls from my account. They have all my info and are not really willing to work with me on a payment plan. They want everything in 30 days. When I asked what happens if I do not come up with the total amount due after 30 days. I was told by a supervisor that they did not know what happens to a person after 30 days.


They call my work all day long. Will call and ask for me and then 5 minutes later will call back claiming to be someone else. They say they will have all of my paycheck taken every month. I have tried to work with them. They are impossible to work with


I moved into a house back in april 06, I had all my mail foward to my new address, to my fault I did not relize this bill was not being taken care of, it went to collections, Leading edge had called me, when wanting to set up payments they refused saying I need to pay in full, unable to I said why can I not, the women began to ask what kind of family raised me to not pay bills, if I was educated, and called white trash. after this went on I hung up and called back to speak to someone eles indicating that i want to make payments, this person did help me and I was making payments of $300 a month, this went on for 6 months but then they kept calling me at my job saying they need the full payment, unable to I said I would like to continue to make the $300 a month, she said that i need to find otherways by taking out a loan or asking my church, she started yelling at me when aksed her to stop she says that she can yell at me because I owe her company this money, she then placed a threat saying she is going to call my boss and ask for the payment, when asking her why she was acting like this that I am not refusing to pay, she said good luck to you and hung up on me.


2 weeks before Christmas of 2006, I started receiving phone calls at home stating that they are now collecting a debt from a sears credit card. I have had 7-8 different people call from morning until night with no less than 10 calls per day. Then I started receiving calls at work with threats of garnishing wages, taking my house, legal actions etc... Screaming at me on the phone. I finally told them to stop calling me at home and work. If they needed to correspond with me they can through the mail. I have yet to receive anything through the mail. I tried to tell them I could make payments but they would not except my money. Keep in mind the majority of this bill was in dispute but Sears never acknowledge my complaint, this has been going on for 2 years. This story has dragged out for 5 months but I have phone calls,dates, times, names and conversations written down. It would take too long to type everything down but suffice it to say, I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!!


Ms Love Keeps calling leaving a message Hilda, this is Mz Love you are to call me back immediately at 800-608-5434 ext. 1702. You are well aware that this is a time sensative issue. I talked to her twice, she will not identify her company, I know because I have looked up the phone # and when I called back because I wanted to know who she was. I asked Ms Love to send me validation of debt, but she hasn't.

She told me if I did not make arrangements to send her $1600. which was offered with in two payments the fist has to be $1000.00 that they would garnish my wages or take legal action in court. Ms Love will not tell me who they are only that she represents a orchard bank credit card company.


Her rudeness scares me. I am afraid of what she is capable of. I can not stop thinking of this. I wish I could resolve the problem so she would not call.
