Unscrupulous billing practices. They bury the information about automatic renewal when making a one-time subscription purchase. Then, two years later, without warning or notice charge my card $96. Their website states they send out email notification of upcoming renewal 30 days ahead of time, but that is a lie. According to the Better Business Bureau, hundreds of consumers like myself never received the advertised warning...and I check my email and spam several times daily. They refuse to refund, so they are robbing consumers who never, or rarely, use the service...banking that consumers won't read all the hidden, fine print. Totally dishonest. They should be shut down!

What a ripoff! We were notified by Paypal that they had just paid Classmates.com $96.00 for our subscription. We did not ask for a subscription. We called Classmates and were told that it was an automatic 2 year renewal. We were never notified in advance of this renewal. We asked for a refund, seeing as how we didn't even know we had an original subscription to begin with and we were not using their services. We were told that they have a strict no refund policy. They would cancel any future renewal, but we would not be getting any refund. I will be contacting Paypal and the Better Business Bureau and reporting them for their shady practices.

These people should be under a class action lawsuit as a result of scamming people up their money and holding them hostage.

When you join Classmates.com you are automatically reviewed and automatically charged your membership fee each year with a no refund policy. Avoid this company.

Once you pay for this and Cancel, They always get you for another $21 U.S., This is just a scam site. Don't use it. Bad Business.

Do not put in your cc info. Had no idea that I was still getting charged since nov 2025, and the way they billed it would have been cheaper to get a ONE year subscription, this is the definition of a slimy company.

I was surprised by a charge on my bank statement for $96. Turns out it was a recurring charge by Classmates. I was told I could not cancel it. I asked to have automatic renewal turned off, I was told that it was now turned off. I was not sent an email confirming this and may have this problem again in two years.

Today I discovered a charge from Classmates. My bank did not list contact information (phone number) so I contacted PayPal. They were able to provide a number, which I called. Customer service representative with Classmates informed me that my three month trial membership from June, 2024, had been automatically renewed at the current full price. No, they would not refund me as they have a strict No Refund policy. How convenient. I was assured my membership would be cancelled but that I could use my (unwanted) membership until it expires in July. Seriously??

I backtracked and found they had charged me in January of this year also. That’s the second problem. Small charges sometimes slip through without you realizing it happened. No email is sent informing you of the upcoming “renewal". Very frustrating and it’s concerning a company can get away with fraudulent membership renewals and keep the money. No penalty for them. I see from this site this is an ongoing practice with this company. Needless to say, I have filed a complaint against Classmates with both the BBB and Paypal.

It appears Classmates.com sends emails to clients and embeds hidden subscription fees into correspondences. This business practice speaks to me that money is a very focused, desperate goal for this business, and seeks to trick people by posting the hidden subscription fees. That is a shame. Hopefully, Classmates.com will close its business doors, or at least start to market their desperate quest for subscription fees openly and with honesty, without subterfuge to senior citizens.

I feel it important to alert the public about the ploy to pull “subscription” money without proper transparency and duping money from senior citizens, that this needs to be shared with all the general consumers. I hope to reach out to online platforms that Classmates.com will collect $96 from your account when not authorized, and refuse refunds and refuse further correspondences. Bad business.

Do not use this website. When I signed up I took off auto renew and clicked on do not save card information and 2 years later they auto renewed me for 101 dollars. Was never informed that they were going to do this. Called. They will not refund me for a website I will not use at all is non refundable. Had to dispute it with my card company. If this the only way their website can make money I classify them as fraudulent.
