Providian - Advance Fees |

|
I submitted an $89 processing fee to Providian for a unsecured credit card with a limit of $300. I have not heard anything nor have I received a card from them. Kimberley of Woodstock, IL:
I got a letter 10 days later, saying that my Social Security number was invalid to a deceased person. I know that my Social Security number is correct and I have credit with other companies. They can't give me any other excuse, and are not helpful on the phone, they give you the run-a-round. It sounds like a scam to me, is there anything that can be done? O.W., Rockledge, FL:
They imformed me they could not find my credit bureau file; therefore I was rejected. A.K. of Rogue River, OR:
I sent the money and they cashed my personal check. Then about one month later I received a letter from A.B., Executive Vice President, to send in proof of my social security number on two form's of I.D. It was because they claim that my social security number doesn't match up to who I am. This rather upset me and they will not talk to me. I sent the info return receipt through the post office and received it back on April 23, 1999. I still haven't received the credit card. No one will speak to me. What do I do? How can they do this? I have all receipts and I am who they say on all of my letters. They said if I didn't get the info in to them I could request a refund in 30 days, well they got it, but claim they didn't. I have the receipt. Report Your Experience
