Kervin of Hampton VA (1/2/04):
On Nov 21st Global Benefits called me and all I had to do was pay $299 to receive a Visa or MasterCard with a $2,000 credit limit. I just had to have the money debited from my account. I would receive the card within 30 days. After 30 days I did not receive any card. I then called the number they gave me (1-866-544-0556) and it just rings and rings.

Then I called the number on my bank statement, Superior Co. (1-800-400-0792). They ask how much was the debit for and they told me to call Global Benefits at 1-866-270-7076. How did they know what company debited this money out of my account? They did not ask me for my name or any other information like the transaction number. So I called that number and it just rings and rings. I called Superior Co. back and they said that Global Benefits closed at 5pm. Superior was not of any help. They said it is nothing they can do.

Damage Resulting: Lost $299 at the worst time to get scammed - around Christmas. Expected to get credit card to do Christmas shopping, so I spent my cash on other things. Therefore I could not buy anything.

Kalyn of Ashburn VA (2/18/04):
They told me that if I paid an initial $500 security deposit I would receive $5,000 deposited into my bank account or wired through Western Union. They said that the security deposit is refundable after a year of consecutive payments. I have already sent the money, and now when I call they do not answer the phone, and if they do they hang up in my face or either put me on hold an extremely long period of time, then the phone disconnects.

Because of this I was unable to pay the anticipated bills that I was going to pay. Also it has caused me to have insufficient funds in my checking account, causinig checks to be returned.

Robert of Vancouver WA (12/10/03):
I received a phone call from a company who claimed to have approved me for a credit limit of $2500, all they needed was my information and my bank account number so that I could make a payment to them of $299. The payment came out of my account today, so I called the company to see where at in the process I was, and I couldn't get anywhere with them. I have neither heard from nor received anything from this company and after further review of consumer complaints regarding this exact company, I realized that I have been the victim of a scam.

I have lost $299 to global benefits and would like to get it back.

Fior of Elmsford NY (5/28/03):
I purchased a Visa credit card with them for $221.00 and they said I was approved for credit of $2000. I never got the Visa credit card in the mail after I called and complained 4 times. they kept promising they sent me the card but they did not. I got ripped off for $221.00 dollars.

Ebonee of Jackson TN (5/28/03):
I was called by Lesa Haworth a sales associate from Global Financial, about a credit card. I was told that the credit card would arrive in 14-21 days. When the card did not arrive I called the company on the 4th of April and was told the I was misinformed and the actual turnaround time was 18-24 days. I said OK and waited a few more days and called back on the 14th of April and spoke with Alicia Howell who told me that my delivery date was the following day and that the shipping department was behind so it would be another week or two and I also told her that I felt like I was getting the run around and that I wanted to cancel the arrangement and was then told that I had to wait until I received the card then send it back to them.

Ms. Howell then said that it would go into a pile and the money would be returned to me when they got to it. I called the company back on the 23 of April and spoke with William Conner and was then informed that the card will be sent out on the 28th of April and I should receive the card in 7 days. If I hadn't received the card in that period of time to call back and the money would be refunded to my account within 72 hrs. I waited about 3 days and tried to call back and have not been able to reach the company since then.

Lincoln of Manville NJ (5/12/03):
I received a phone call from a company called Global Financial offering credit on an approved Visa or Mastercard. They stated that all I had to do was make a payment to them of $221.95 which would be a one-time fee for the service. I made this transaction on 3/26/03, it's now 5/12/03, and I have not received anything from their company. I have also been trying to call on a continuous bases but the phone only rings and then cuts off.
