I recently purchased a pack of 4 x 8.4oz Gillette Shaving Cream Comfort Advantage Shave Gel cans. I opened the package and when I went to use the first can, it splattered and gave a small amount of gel out, then stopped. It is still heavy but gives out no gel. I do not have the purchase receipt so I cannot return it to the store I bought it in. The number on the bottom is 12168323D1. I have not yet tried the other three cans.
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I recently purchased a can of Gillette Series Shave Gel. This can was to replace the can I purchased only several weeks prior with the same problem. Both cans were only used a maximum of five times with both cans 1/2 to 3/4 full of gel, but there were no propellant (gas) in the can to dispense the gel. I have read similar complaints from other consumers with a similar problem. Why are you not fixing it? I hope you send me coupons for free replacements.

I purchased a pack of three Gillette Shaving Gels, 3X Triple Protection with 20% bonus amount. Two of the cans only had enough charge to dispel 50% of the gel inside. I don't think I will be using your product in the future. Your quality control must be slipping.

I buy this Gillette Lemon Lime Foam Mousse every month to shave with. A year or so ago, I brought a can and it did not work, I guessed it was due to no pressure. I threw this can out as I didn't really want to make a complaint. But recently, I have just brought another can and the same thing seems to have happened. No pressure, is this common? Is there any chance of getting my money back or a voucher so I can purchase another can? Many thanks.

If you submerge your Gillette or any other blade in olive oil after use, you'll stop the corrosion process which damages the razor blade edge. The razor life span is a carefully tuned alloy by Gillette that's meant to corrode. The corrosion eats away the sharp edge, in turn damaging your skin and forces you to replace your blade. Before and after use, you should remove the olive oil and moist hair by firmly blowing it dry, that's all. I am using the same blade for a month now. It's as sharp as when I took it from the package. The indicator strip is completely gone, still it shaves like new. I also shave without using any gel or any other products. I have since then also lost skin irritation in the throat area, even when shaving daily! The secret is shaving under the shower. All the skin is hot and the water is then a sufficient lubricant. I hope this helps many people bringing the cost of shaving down, and let the Gillette mafia eat the dust. They have earned enough over our backs.

I have used Gillette shaving products for as long as I can remember. I currently use the Mach 3 razor and Gillette foam for sensitive skin. I always buy my products from Tesco's in Camberley. I have, however, noticed that the last two cans of Gillette shaving foam I have purchased have had a very short, even missing dispenser nozzle. This has resulted in the foam not fully clearing the side of the can and having foam all around the dispenser cap. All the shaving foam cans I have had in the past had a nozzle of about 5 mm which allowed the foam to be dispensed without getting the can in a mess. Can you tell me if this is a defect or are Gillette now changing the dispenser design to this new version? If so, I will not be using Gillette products in the future. If someone could respond to my complaint, it would be much appreciated

I purchased 5 packs of Gillette custom plus fixed head razors some 2 months ago. I planned on using them on my recent vacation overseas. I opened the package and took the protective cover off the blade and started to shave. The razor felt like the cover was still on it. I checked to be sure I took it off. I had. I tried again, same thing.
I'm saying what is going on here! I took another one out and I got the same results and another and another! The package said it was made in Mexico. I am deeply disappointed at Gillette for their poor quality control. I threw hard earned dollars at worthless blades. I'm almost positive they've had this complaint before about these particular blades. I have taken the time to contact them so that you can rectify this problem. If they wish, I can send 2 of the razors which I kept for inspection. However, they would pay the shipping cost.
Shaving cream dispensers - When you try to remove the top off of the shaving cream, both tops come off. You then try to put the bottom top back on so you can dispense and foam shoots out the sides and you cannot put the press part back on. So you waste over half the can, plus a mess.

While shaving this morning after rinsing blade, I proceeded to shave not realizing that the blade had pop up and detach from the corner of the frame resulting with a slice on my face from my mouth to my ears.

I have now bought a pack from Morrison's which contained 2 which were completely blunt the moment I tried them. If something is not done, I will consider switching over to other blades as the Fusion ones are particularly expensive to have half of the pack being a dud. I seem not be able to contact Gillette customer service, so I hope something can be done through this site.

The third just spat air. I've used Gillette all my life and never experienced such poor quality. I want 3 fully operating new containers or will never buy Gillette again.
Two of my clear gels have liquefied. I sent the UPC codes off both in an email a month or so ago and have never heard back. I would like them both replaced as I have always used this product and have never experienced this problem before.

I bought a couple of bottles of Gillette shaving gel because I always use it. One bottle was used a few times and is still almost full but no gel comes out anymore. I do not have the original sales receipt or It would have been returned but instead I'm stuck with it and don't believe it's fair. It's Gillette Series Shave Gel Sensitive Skin, UPC 047400130708. I'm currently unemployed so this is a major setback to me with my financial situation being budgeted. All I would like is to get what I paid for and make it work like it usually does.

I was given a Gillette fusion wash-bag, razor, and shaving cream in a gift box for Christmas! When I opened it and used the razor for the first time yesterday, I noticed straight away that the razor was completely blunt, and tugged my facial hair on my cheek really aggressively, causing my cheek sharp pain, and a small cut! Even though it wasn't the end of the world, and was only a cut, I would like to know why a brand new blade, which looked like the normal glistening Gillette standard, could not cut the hair, and was about as sharp as a beach ball? I wish to hear from you soon, regarding this matter.

I have been using Gillette razors and shaving cereal for years without any problems with the product. However, in the last year I have had to purchase replacement Mach III razors 4 times because the handle part of the razor would not hold the cartridge longer. I had to use my finger to hold it in place to shave which resulted in getting cut up for applying to much pressure to make sure it won't come off the end. I have had brand new cans of shaving cream stop working as well. It just stopped pumping out shaving cream. It's getting way too expensive to continue using Gillette products. There product quality has been horrible and it's very disappointing and getting very expensive.

I buy Gillette fusion blades for my husband and my son. They usually share a pack. We never had any problems with these blades. The last pack of four blades that I bought two weeks ago at Jean Coutu, were obviously defective, as both my husband and son said, the blades cut their faces constantly, and were not the same as usual. I do not have the packaging or the bill to prove this, but at the price we pay for these blades, I feel that I should be reimbursed for this pack of four blades. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has complained, and therefore you must be aware of the problem.

My husband uses the Gillette series shave gel. The last few times he has used it, he has gotten about 1/4 of a can used and it quits spraying it out like it loses pressure! We don't know how this happened. It wouldn't be so bad if he got to use at least 3/4 of the can. We do have the last can if you would like for it to be sent back so you can see what we mean.

I have been using Gillette blades since I was 14 years old and I am 72 now. I never had a problem until about 2 months ago when it took 2 razors to shave once, they scratch your face. You can't get a clean shave with them. What is happening with them? I am talking about the disposable ones. They used to be #1 in my book, but now they are not. Thank you.

Brand-new Gillette shaving cream exploded. The shaving cream was in the bathroom.

I was shaving with a disposable Venus razor when the plastic snapped right in half, the only thing holding the razor together was the soft plastic (kind of gel) that is on the handle. I have never had this happen before and have used your products for years. I normally wouldn't write a complaint if it was about time to toss the razor in the garbage but I had just taken it out of the package to use.

I have been using the Gillette Sensor Razor and its family of blades for as long as I can remember. My problem is that I fail to understand why a 5 pack of blades is almost $13, when I can purchase Wilkerson sword 4 pack for $5. As you know they also enjoy an excellent reputation. If they can provide their product for a reasonable price, why can't you?

The new ProGlide razor offers no better of a shave than what you would receive from using a disposable bought from a dollar store. I am a 20-year repeat customer of Gillette shaving products, but this ProGlide offers a mediocre shave at best. I found the Mach 3 and Fusion razors to be superior to this new ProGlide razor. The ProGlide does not perform as advertised and does not offer the longevity of razors like the Fusion.

I have been using the Gillette Sensor razor since it was introduced. In late April, I purchased a pack of 20 blades from BJ's. Out of the first 10 blades, I found 2 blades that would not cut my face at all. All I felt was a tugging at my facial hairs. I did check to make sure the blades were correctly seated and that the blades were facing the correct direction and they were. I am concerned that the quality control of you company is slipping. A 20% failure rate is not acceptable.

I have a Mach3 razor, actually 2 of them, one for travel and one for home. My home one has been having the head pop off of it when I apply it to my face. This is very disconcerting and disappointing. Can you send me a new Mach3 razor shaft?

To respond to Carrie's complaint dated September 11, 2010: Good afternoon, let me start by saying, we don't ever like to hear of our products disappointing consumers, but to hear/read you had cut your leg with our Venus Divine was upsetting. I want to assure you, as you alluded to, we do test our products thoroughly for quality, safety and performance. Though we test our products thoroughly, should a quality issue arise, we hope consumers will contact us so we can investigate and test and determine the cause, to eliminate the chance of recurrence.
I do hope you'll contact our consumer care department at 1-866-588-9557 or using the contact us link on *** so we can get the razors and test them, as well as get some additional information on the accident from you. I completely understand why you don't use Venus razors after such a devastating experience, but I hope we can figure out how to make this better for you. I also want you to feel welcome to contact me, Tammy (I'm the Venus Community Manager) at ** if you have questions.

A few months back, I got into the shower to attend to my daily routine. I opened a new razor, the Venus Divine Razor package and inserted the razor into the packet as directed. I have used these razor for years now. I then pulled the razor out. I took one stroke in the normal area where I begin to shave my legs, above my knee to the inside portion on my right leg. Immediately I was cut and it started to bleed badly enough to have to sit down in the tub for a second to get a grip on what just happened.
I looked at the razor and come to find all 3 blades were lifted, the bottom blade was lifted completely on the left side to the middle, the middle blade was a little less lifted, and the top blade was crumpled upwards. This placed about a 7-8 inch long wound on my leg. I got out of the shower to tend to the cut and took photos of it at that time in the case I had to pursue. I honestly thought the issue would be resolved in a few weeks once it healed. Here I am 3 months later and it's a huge scar on the top of my leg, visible with any type of short bottom wear. I'm honestly mortified and embarrassed as it is unbearably noticeable. Since then, I have had so many people ask "what happened".
I have been planning my wedding for the past 6 months. I refuse to wear my cocktail dress due to it being highly visible in photos and not to mention, my honeymoon on an island in a bathing suit. I dread this. I had good legs, was proud of my legs. Now, to this day, I do not wear anything that will not cover it. I am not sure who or where to go. I have been pondering obtaining a lawyer although I'm not sure if this is a waste of money or their time to even take this case.
This should not have happened. They should inspect the razors thoroughly since they are sharp objects that more younger and younger people are starting to use. Please, if someone has any idea what to do about this, please assist me as soon as possible. I would love to get the scar covered up some how, cover-up only lasts for so long, and pursue Gillette to make them aware that this occurred. I heard that if I contacted them they would send me free razors, I no longer use these razors.
I look forward to hearing from someone soon, before my wedding next year. I would like for you to understand that this is not a joke, I saved the razor and the photos of the cut at the time it happened.Thank you kindly in advance for your assistance.

Three Oral B Triumph 9450 toothbrushes were purchased by myself & co-workers with the promise of a $10 rebate. After complying with all procedures, I recieved a (standard)'...unable to process your request' form informing me to resubmit within 7 days on a form that wanted nonsense questions answered like 'coffee flavor'???? The email address they gave offered NO help and I've written to them twice with no reply! I'm tired of companies pulling this type of scam on customers and need your help to obtain some satisfaction.

I sent the following message to Proctor and Gamble on February 17, 2007, but they have not responded:
"I am writing to register a complaint about a defective Gillette M3 razor blade, and to ask where to direct my complaint.
"A few days ago I replaced the blade on my M3 razor. After I started shaving, I noticed that the blade was scraping my face more than usually, but I did not realize immediately that, in fact, it was scraping my skin off.
"Upon looking closely, I could see that the blade had a significant manufacturing defect that somehow had passed through quality control.
"As a result of using this product I received painful and disfiguring cuts on two areas of my face -- one on my upper lip and one on my right cheek. The cuts are healing well but it has been embarrassing to go to work and make public appearances with these marks on my face. The one on my upper lip is particularly visible, with an area of about 2 square centimeters.
"I have kept the razor blade. Will you please let me know what I should do to address this situation?"

I must give you a very negative report on the Fusion razor. I've been using it for well over a year now, and the blades are great but there are major problems. First and foremost is the back trimmer. This is DANGEROUS. I have nicked myself many times with it. This last time was very bad (please see photo). This is a SERIOUS design flaw. This trimmer needs to be removed or the razor needs a complete re-design. Second - the power switch has fallen off on it. This is my second razor that I have bought since I started using it just over a year ago.

I cannot find their E-mail address in order to complain directly on the product. The "contact us" button in their web site doesn't respond...

Head from oral-b batter toothbrush came off while haveing my teeth brushed and I swallowed it.
throat was scratched badly and bleeding immediate action from wife to remove or I probably would have died 911 was called but canceled ambulance after wife removed.

Oral B Cross Action Battery operated toothbrush. On July 19th, 2004 while brushing my teeth, my lip got caught in the mechanism that rotates the bristles of the toothbrush. Previously I had gotten pinched, but this time, my lip got caught in it. It took me a few moments to get it out.

The following is the EMAIL message I sent to Gillette yesterday. I am sorry to tell you that the new MACH3 kit I receive at Christmas was a scam. I do not know if it was you or BJ's or both but someone is trying to scam the consumer. I am not concerned about a single missing blade, but more about the principles of stating something is / contains what it does not. It is also obvious that someone knows because the truth is masked by a sticker over the 4 on the package of blades.
The product I received as a gift is Item# 212038. It says there is 1 Razor + 6 Cartridges. As YOU KNOW, there are not 6 cartridges. I want to report this to the state consumer affairs and the better business bureau. I might argue that a company that would put this over on the consumer does not deserve any consumer loyalty and certainly might not be worthy of being trusted.
