Toshiba Settles TV Lamp Suit

Toshiba A135-42-S4527. DC power connect does not work. Can not use direct power or battery. Battery will not charge. Was told something needed soldering on the board or it could be the motherboard altogether and they would not even look at it for less than 450.00. It is only 1 yr and 10 months old. I guess I am not too smart because I had another Toshiba laptop that did the same thing. But I will not buy another one nor recommend one. I am likely to be boldly honest and relate my experience with their computers and there customer service. Don't buy one if you are going to need it for more than 22 months. This was a known issue 3 years ago and they have not corrected the weakness in their system. I will buy an Acer. I have heard they are fairly dependable and long lasting.

2 useless computers both used less than 2 years. Purchase price for each 749.00.

maybe we should file a class action lawsuit against Toshiba for selling faulty laptops, I have satelite 215A the computer is a little over a year old, and I have been having problems with the power the 1st time it just shut off and I had to reinstall windows again so I lost a pictures of my deceased granddaughter, that I had just downloaded in October after her death, I purchased another power cord and it worked for a few minutes so I believe the adapter prong is broken on the mother board, the repair shop wanted to charge me 400 to repair, I will never purchase Toshiba products again, my friend has the same laptop with the same problem!

Toshiba Satellite Notebook with Intes Centrino Duo P105-S6084 Since day one, the volume on sound internal speakers or head set is so low it's unusable. Conferred with a number of tech's and nobody has a clue except to say it's a common problem to many with laptops but especially Toshiba.

Spent many hours wasted trying to resolve the issue. Also tried out of pocket expense for external components to resolve the issue. The price was over 1,561.85. Disgusted.

Purchased a Toshiba A135 S4499 Laptop for 1,350.00 in April/2007 for my son going off to college. I purchased this laptop directly from Toshiba Direct. Within 6 months, the screen shattered walking into a cold Lab at school. Eight months later, the power supply stopped functioning. Now, with the computer less then 2 years old, the motherboard went.

After calling Toshiba, I went from person to person to voice my complaints. I kept asking to speak with someone I could voice or write my complaint to, and got nothing. Their customer service is non existent. The laptop is pretty much worthless and I have a son at college without a laptop. Toshiba told me that they haven't had any complaints about this model! Yeah Right. I will never buy a Toshiba never again.

BAD Motherboard.
