Why does it take 4x as long to uninstall Office 2007 as to boot it 1st (and then have to restart). It looks like [they] want to force us to use office 2007 instead of the perfectly good '97 version I paid good money for and is good for me. Maybe I'll blog this and see what others think.

Here it is. I remember when I was first introduced to Microsoft's Offcie products (word, excel, etc ....) and did not have any trouble adapting since it was logical and accessible.

Recently, our company was required to switch to office 2007. I have been at this for two weeks now and my ability to use the new interface is nothing short of an unreasonable and unessessary challenge.

My ability as a medium to advanced user is severely crippled due to the illogical/misleading cues. I reject the idea that the designers of 2007 were unable to build upon the previous human interface and so too should have Bill Gates (or others in charge) when presented with the extreme make-over of this vitally important business tool. If I could find and alternate to microsoft, I would switch in a heart beat.

Lost productivity, unable to fullfill my duties, unable to creatively use the microsoft products.

Purchased and installed Office Pro 2007 as an upgrade. Outlook 2007 crashes evertime I use it and I have to reboot. So slow - takes forever. I spend half my working day dealing with the crashes and reboots.

There are no website with solutions, but there is quick and easy access to their paid support lines. When I called their tech support they said the crashes were a known problem related to settings and that it would cost me 50, for starters, for the fix. The program is non-functional without the fix and they are holding consumers hostage for the fix which, in my opinion, is consumer fraud in not disclosing the known issues at the time of purchase. Microsoft is becoming another monopoly too big to fail. We need legislation to undo some of the mess when it gets out of control.
