Consumer Complaints & Reviews

On May 25, 2011 I purchased a battery for my Sony Laptop Computer from "Laptopsforless.com". I received the battery on June 1, 2011. I installed the battery the same day and the computer went to a black screen and would not boot up. I called and was given an RMA # for returning the battery. The battery was received and signed for on June 7, 2011.

As of today I have not seen a refund and have called and emailed customer service many times. I called the local city council and was told this is not the first time that they have received calls about this company. There are many listings on the internet referring to Laptops For Less' poor business practices. I just want a refund for the battery I sent back as it is not compatible with Sony laptops.

Ordered a "new" Laptop computer battery. First one would only charge to 45%. Sent it back for a replacement. This "new" battery didn't get above a 1% charge. Tried several times to call and email the company, (two months now), with no answer.

When I did get someone on the telephone, after an hour, they put me on hold and then hung up on me. Now I am out the $64.99 for the battery and $16.44 for shipping back the first battery, (which was supposed to be paid for by Lap Tops For Less. Beware of this company.

I ordered a laptop battery online from Lap Tops For Less. They shipped me the wrong battery. I sent back for correct battery but they made no attempt to replace but are making refund minus 25% restocking fee. The battery I received had labels on box to indicate it has been returned twice before. This seems to be a common practice of them as indicated by e-opinions. So this company has sold this item 3 times for total of 75% of the purchase price and still has the item to scam someone else. I do not have much damage other than aggravation. I just want to expose a possible scam. Even though I have little loss, this common practice from this company could result in large profits.

I purchase TV lamps on 4/19/2010 from Laptop for Less. I paid for my order to come overnight to me as they have free delivery on purchase on item over $50, but I did not want to wait 10 days to get my order so I opt to pay for the overnight delivery. I receive the lamp on 4/20/2010 but it looked like a used one and it did not worked. I call them on 4/21/10 to let them know it did not work and that I will be sending it back to them and they said they would send another one to me for which I should have gotten on 4/22/10. I did not get it on 4/22.

I waited until 4/23 and I still did not get my lamps. I called them Saturday to find out what was going on and got a recorder came on stating that they (Laptop) is not open on the weekend. I called on Monday morning 4/26/10 to let them know that I did not get my lamp and that's when they told me they did not send it out but that they would, I should get it the next day. I told them to cancel my order and to send my money back because I paid to get my shipment the next day, not six days later.

They did canceled my order but they wanted me to wait 30 days to get my refund which I told them I should not have to wait because they are the ones that messed up, not me. After a lot of phone calls and emails, they decided and the customer rep hanging up the ones or cutting me on the emails. On 4/30, they claimed they refunded my money to my account but I would have to wait three more days before I can see it will be in my account.

On Monday 5/3, I check my email and I got one from them informing me that I was only getting a partial refund. I called to see why I was not getting all my money back since they are ones who mess the order up and I was told that they are keeping 25% of my money. I paid for my order to go overnight and if I did not called them on day five to let them know that I did not get my order, I would not have known that they still did not sent it to me because no one from Laptop for Less call to inform me that my order did not go out nor to apologize.

I would like for them to give me all my money back because they are the ones who did not follow through. I have been on the phone with them and they keep giving me the run around, I should not have to go through this because they had no problem taking the money from my account. I still do not have my money back or the use of my television. Emotionally, I am drained and stressed because I should not be going through this. I am aggravated and tired and I need your help. Thank you.

I ordered a product that guaranteed delivery in 7-10 business days. 17 days later, I was not able to contact a real person via the customer service number (I know it's fake, it always goes to voicemail). The online chat people were very dismissive, could not track the package, offered no solution, and denied me a refund. Still, I have no idea how to initiate the refund process with this company. This is horrible. The product I ordered is needed for work and I have lost money and time waiting for its delivery, not to mention the $20 I lost on the order with no sign of a refund.
