Consumer: Blame Thyself!

Mike of Charleston WV (2/1/03):
I purchased a 3500c scanner. The problem is that, it wants to send my pictures that I scan and want to e-mail by Microsoft network and I have AOL; therefore, my pictures will not send. How can this be corrected? If this can't be corrected, I have no use for this scanner. This seems like a drawn-out process when all I need is to talk to tech support and I had to do an extensive search to just find this. You are too hard to find.

It's even worse than Mike thinks. Obviously, he still hasn't found the right HP space.

John of Lowell MA (9/27/02):
I have bought 2 HP scanners, a 4300c and 3200c scanjets. Both broke in less than 1 year of light usage. I didn't damage them in any way. I sought help from HP online and discovered that they had tips on how to fix the different problems that they were having. I did not fix the problems. It seems common sense that HP knows that their scanners are faulty if they knew that the scanners were prone to having these problems listed online.

I'm a poor student and this cost me about a month's rent -- $300. I also need the scanner for school and my graphic design jobs. It caused me major financial and problems with school as well. I had to get another scanner to complete a job.

Fred of Moss Beach CA (4/23/02):
I recently ordered an HP Scanner for the sum of $149.00.Last month I was billed and paid $220.83 which I didn't discover till this billing cycle. Meantime, the current billing cycle has charged an additional $352.90 for the SAME scanner. I spoke to a Mike Jack who, essentially, said I purchased this $99-149 valued equipment through a plan about which I know nothing of, and to which he claims I am responsible. He refused to give me specific addresses or names for me to have my attornies to contact.I am not getting any results and would like to know how to proceed against Hewlett Packard. My credit card company is sending me forms, but meanwhile, I have discovered hundreds of fraudelent activities on internet search engines of similar incidents.
