I had filed a rebate in the past for $50. Somehow, I never received the rebate and forgot about it. The City of Oakland Unclaimed Department had sent me a letter indicating that the HP unclaimed the money in my name and when I filed the money. The City said they never got the money from the HP and asked me to deal directly with HP. That's what I'm doing right now. Please help. I had all the information from the City of Oakland if you need a copy.
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

When you receive your letter stating that your rebate has been denied, don't hesitate to call the number and listen to the B.S. about online rebate info that someone accidentally entered your exact numbers on your Staples receipt. Also, don't allow them to put you on hold for a minute to come back and reassure you will receive you rebate $. I put my HP laptop up for sale and will go buy the Dell that I should have and will never buy an HP product again. Just my little payback for the inconvenience of the denial letter they sent.

We will getting our rebate. My complaint is the "practice of the rebate companies." They mail these letters out routinely hoping you will give up. How can the practice be stopped. What can we do to stop the "rebate" scam.

I bought a g50 laptop and got duped into one of thier rebate programs. (I thought a large corporation like HP wouldnt have to stoop to marketing gimmicks) I called the customer service to make sure i followed the rebate rules and I hard a hard time with the persons accent and she got upset because I had to ask her to repeat herself a few times. the women told me I didnt have to cut the serial # but to photo copy them and send them in.
I did this and never recieved the rebate so I sent them an email that was never answered. almost 2 mos later I recieved a notice that said I did not include the serial #s. the rebate was only $50 which they can keep if they need it that bad. But I will never buy hp products again and will warn others about my experience.

We purchased a HP PS C7280 all in one fax/copier/printer on 29-July-08 when there was a AU$100 cashback on offer. We registered the product online, contacted both Dick Smiths & HP on several occasions. As requested by HP, we faxed details with a copy of the invoice to HP on the 18-Sep-08. I spoke with Dee at HP today 18-Feb-09 explaining the difficulties we have had in trying to redeem this $100. I was told that the promotion had expired and we will not be given this cash back!
Financially, we are not in a position to loose this amount as we are older people and our income is modest.

I bought Compaq Desktop computer at AAFES. I'm in the Army here in Japan. When I bought the computer the sale was 369.00 with a $100.00 discount with the rebate. I paid up front 469.00. I sent out the rebate filled out with the required information. I waited for a 1 1/2 month and decided to email the company to check the status, they (Etaylor9246) emailed me back informing me that they had no recollection of the rebate status. They asked me to email them all the information so, I did because I have copies of everything.
Ever since then they have been ignoring my emails and just recently I received an email saying that I have to contact a different rebate agency. The rebate form says who to contact to check rebate status. I really feel that I've been had and that this is a false advertisement this type of business needs to stop it gives the USA a bad name. I would like for this to get resolved because it is wrong and should not be tolerated.

I purchased a computer monitor two years ago and paid $100. I was supposed to receive a $50 rebate. I sent in all the paperwork including the original receipt.
I never received the rebate. Hewlett PAckard is a scam.

I ordered a laptop (which I recieved) also to come with that was a printer (also recieved) Both items cost $1005.66..my problem is the rebate. I am to recieve $70...I have been in contact with them and they seem to give me web sites and phone numbers that don't seem to work. I have sent the information requested twice and there still seems to be a problem.
I can't reach anyone to find out what the problem is. I have given this informtion to them in the form of an email, hence, they keep giving me inaccurate information which of course is not resolving the issue. This purchase was made is February 2008. It is now June 2008. Please help me resolve this issue. I don't know where else to turn.

I was encouraged to buy an HP printer when I bought my computer because I was told by the Best Buy salesman that there was a mail-in rebate of $50 from HP if I purchased them on the same day. The salesman gave me the mail in rebate form. I sent everything in and was declined the rebate because I bought the printer from Best Buy, and they were not a valid store to receive the mail-in rebate. I talked to the manager at HP, and he said it was because Best Buy was given money upfront for an instant in-store rebate and that is what I should have gotten. I called the Best Buy manager, and he said he did know anything about it and could do nothing. All I know is I in good faith purchased the printer and filled everything out properly and am due $50. Best Buy is keeping the money and not passing it on the the consumers.
All this phone calling and waiting on the phone to talk to some one has taken me 3 hours. Filling out the rebate form, making copies, and mailing it took 2 hours--plus all the stress of everyone just passing the buck to someone else. I made many phone calls, was put on hold, disconnected, spoke with six or more people--and here I am left holding copies of a rebate no one will honor. My blood pressure is out of control and I am unable to concentrate on anything else but how I and the rest of us consumers keep getting ripped off.

We purchased an HP computer system from Circuit City with the promise of a $240.00 package rebate. After a few months we called HP to inquire about the status of our rebate. We were told that they had no record of our request but to re-submit the paperwork to a fax number and the claim would be processed in 10 to 14 days.
That was in November of 06. We haven't heard a word from HP. We asked for help at Circuit City only to be told that while they were aware of the problem there was "nothing they could do". It was between us and HP.

I purchased a HP PhotoSmart 475 Printer from Staples that had both a $50 HP rebate and $20 Staples rebate. I was told that the $20 Staples rebate would be processed because it was submitted before the $50 HP rebate. The $50 HP rebate will not be processed because the T/C's state that HP rebates cannot be combined. I feel that both Staples and HP are independent of each other and the T/C's did not reference Staples as a business partner.
Currently, there is no indication that either rebate will be processed because I complained about their suspect business practice. I want both the $50 HP and $20 Staples rebates to be processed and checks mailed to me.

I submitted two rebates that was advertised with the computer package I purchased at best buy. The rebates were filled out in their entirety and sent to the same address listed above. They claim there was a computer error and will be resolved soon. I sent them on February 1st and they claim they received them three weeks later. Im very upset that they feel they can keep consumers money and make it difficult to receive.

I bought a laptop on Aug 2005 with a $50 rebate offer. Submitted and resubmitted twice and since have not seen a rebate check

Sent in materials for several advertized rebates associated with a computer purchase. Received one rebate check but not the second. Information on the available rebates was so confusing that I got two different explanations of what rebates were available from the retailer (Circuit City), a third explanation from the HP website and a fourth from the HP telephone rep. In frustration, I finally sent in what I thought were the right forms, but only got part of what I was entitled to. No explanation is available on the website. I suspect this is designed to simply frustrate consumers into giving up ... as I have now done.

My husband and I recently bought a HP Photosmart Camera-ID#829160450179, a HP Photosmart PS 7450 Color Printer-ID#829160439174 and a sandisk card-ID#619659015947. These products were purchased as a rebate offer. The rebate was for $60.00. This occurred 6/11/05. We submitted the rebate information online and never heard anything nor did we receive any further information.
We checked the website and found that our rebate had been denied. When we called the Customer Support for HP rebates we were told that since we returned a product, the rebate was then nulled. We assured them that nothing was returned. We were then advised to go to Staples (Store 1066) and have them fill out a letter stating that we had not returned anything. They did so, and we mailed that letter to the address we were given for the department.
They told us at Staples that when we came back the next day, because of an ad we saw where also a sandisk was free, they used the same receipt we had purchased the rebate item from and therefore, it voided the sale. We also have the receipt from Staples where they charged us for another sandisk-619659015947 on 6/17/05 and then turned around and refunded that to us. Later, we then checked the online rebate website for status. It had once again been denied.
It is now 10/04/05 and on 10/3/05 we called the Customer Support for rebates at HP and were told to go back to the store and have the Store Manager again write a letter and fax to them. We were given a fax number. We took this information to Staples (Store 1066). We spoke with the Store Manager on duty. She told us that she had a "Special" number to call. She took our telephone number and said she would call us back. About 30 minutes later she returned a call to us stating that she couldn't get anywhere with HP either about our rebate.
She advised that we call the President of the Company and make a complaint. We feel as if this is not our job to do. We were not the ones that made the mistake with the receipt in the first place. It is pretty upsetting to know that you trust a company to stand by their word and then do not receive what was offered. All we want is for our $60.00 rebate to be mailed to us. We will never again do business with Staples or Hewlett Packard. Both companies have proven to be unable to handle customer issues, not only in a timely manner, but in an appropiate manner.

Bought a new 17" monitor Pavilion mx70 around the beginning of October with a rebate of $150. All papers were sent in. The store said it would take 6 to 8 weeks, over three months have past and no word.
