HP Fax Machines

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

The hp 1010 had been recalled and I sent my info in to get the $100.00. For the problem, the envelope that hp gave me with paid postage was no good. It was sent back to me, business permit cancelled. I called and emailed the info. I keep calling and I get the check in the mail. This has been going on since Sept. I, 2011.

My HP 1010 fax is being recalled. I filled out the recall order on HP's website and received a confirmation order on June 22, 2010. There is still no word on replacing this fire starting recalled machine. I call HP; they tell me the kit to replace the recalled machine is on back order. The kit involves sending in a box they provide the roller part and then when they receive the part, HP will send out a $100 rebate slip to purchase a replacement fax machine. It has been two months and still nothing from HP under this government mandated recall for fire hazards due to a poor power supply.

The website says not to use this machine until I receive the slip to replace the recalled unit. What to do now given this company's poor customer relations? This is the last HP product I ever buy. It is a shame since in the past for my home and business, I have spent thousands on their products. Never again. My business is without a replacement fax machine. Now, it will require me to purchase another machine to continue to receive faxes and do business. The loss to me is significant.

I have had the displeasure of owning an HP copy/Fax machine which is an '05 model. It's way out of warranty, of course, but just a heads up to anyone looking at copiers. Don't buy HP. They are scamming people on their prices for cartridges. It is an absolute racket to pay $31 for an ink cartridge. HP # 26 is apparently one of the highest priced cartridges out here. The reusable cartridges still cost from $25 to $29 and for black ink, not color. This is an atrocity.

This time around I investigated the best deal on a copier that will also print photos you download. Kodak beat out everyone else. Cartridges for black ink are $9.95 and color is $14.95. I think this reveals what HP has been doing to everyone. I got rid of the HP and it is in a landfill somewhere.
