I purchased a computer in March of 2000. The computer was a little over $3000. I had problems with it from the beginning. After fighting with Gateway, and having the extended warranty (thank god) I got a new computer sent to me. That was just the beginning of my problems. That computer too had MANY issues, it had to have almost everything replaced in it. And when I talked to a tech, he told me that it sounded like the hard drive might go out as well.
Well, I began emailing the tech support to get back "ignorant" responses to my computer problem. I was told to reboot with the disk. Somthing that I never had to begin with. They didn't send one with the new computer. Anyways, I was calling them and emailing. No one was helping. FINALLY to the day (one month later) my warranty expired. And the hard drive bit the dust. It is NO GOOD. Will they replace it? NO....told me it was my problem now.I have over 22 reference complaints on the phone, and possibly 4 in store repairs as well as over 7 replacement part orders on both of these computers. And 3 years later, I am out $3000 and a computer. The computer that they replaced the new one with was a rebuild. And it didn't work right from day one. I began calling right away and was drug out until my warranty expired.
I feel that I was taken advantage of as far as my purchase and I was given 2 'lemons'. I don't feel that this company is selling the goods as advertised, nor are they standing behind their name as a respectable company.
