Taiwan's Acer Buys Gateway, eMachines
Gateway Buys eMachines

Scott of Streetsboro, OH January 26, 2006

I Purchased desktop PC package with two rebates (250 & 50) from E-machine at Circuit City on Nov26th and mailed the rebates on December 14th. E-machines / Gateway said the mail was not postmarked within 30 days (it was and I sent it with a receipt from the post office). Gateway "Customer Relations Manager" Micheal (That was how he spelled it) was arrogant, actually said "Your post office and rebate receipts mean nothing to me", refused to give me his actual name or employee I.D. or number, and made statements like "You don't need to know anything else because you are wrong", he refused to notify or allow me to speak to his supervisor, and told me that Gateway's policy is that they will not check my rebate unless I pay him a 29.00 fee with a credit card.

Jane of Wellston, OH January 21, 2006

I bought an Emachine @ Circuit City in Cols, Oh. I took the time to fill out a ton of paper work. My mailing address is a PO Box. The US Postal service will not deliver my mail without this address. I have waited patiently for my rebates, which by the way are sent out to different addresses. I received to cards today, that was sent to my PO Box #, stating they could not send my rebates without a street address. They can send correspondence to my PO Box #, why can't they send the rebates to the PO Box #?

I sent the rebates out on 11/30/05, and on the 01/21/05 I receive a card stating they will not send it until I send the cards back with a street address. Which means if they don't mail it to the PO Box # I may never get it. Why are they allowed to make everything so complicated. I took the time to send all the info ALL I WANT IS MY REBATES! They are the ones that made the offer. I have never had a problem with any other rebates from other companies. Why should this one be so complicated?

Jim of Slidell, LA January 5, 2006

Never received my 50.00 rebate. I have sent 2 letters, went back to best buy where i bought this emachine with the box. this upc code that is in question is no where to be found. i have everything, receipts serial #'s. not to mention this box went through hurricane katrina. If this is the case i will never purchase anonther emachine nor my family friends, co-workers or neighbors, this rebate is one big scam.
