Nicole of Wheeling WV (10/22/08) I called and told them that there was something wrong with my computer. I bought the computer from Wal Mart in March. Wal Mart told me I would have a year contract and that everything would be free. E machines told me that I would have to pay shipping, to send the whole tower. After I was told differently.
I'm not happy with E Machines at all. I will NEVER buy anything from E Machines again. I will probably just buy a new tower. Because I can't wait all that time for a new computer tower to get here.

Leslie of Hickory NC (10/18/08) I bought an eMachine T2742 in May 2004. On Oct.13, 2008, my computer would not turn off....it would shut down, but the tower would not turn off. The next day, Oct. 14, 2008 my computer would not turn on at all...nothing! I took it in to the computer repair shop and low and behold, my power supply had surged and knocked out my motherboard and my processor. My computer tech told me that this had been an ongoing problem with eMachines. the power supply boxes blast the motherboard and processor. eMachines knows about the problem and pass blame to their power supply box supplier.
But nobody fixes the problem. My computer was just over 4 years old and I never had a second of trouble and then Kablooey! Everything is gone! Luckily my harddrive was not affected and my tech is retrieving my information now. If eMachines knows about the problem, why don't they do something about it instead of letting people figure it out when their computer dies in front of their eyes!
My computer has been in the repair shop all week and I have been using family computers to check email and do my online banking, bill paying, etc. I ordered a new Dell computer online today and it should be here by the end of October, but until then, we are struggling in Windows 98 just for email and other household business. My son uses our computer for his school work and projects. now we have to go to a better computer so he can do his assignments! John of Everson, WA October 15, 2008
John of Everson WA (10/15/08) It will be two years two years in a couple of months since I switched from Dell and bought an Emachine model T5212 package deal. In less than one year every single component failed, except for the speakers and had to be replace. The monitor, the main computer, the letters rubbed off the key board, all these things were replaced under warranty, except for the mouse that I sent an email about it before the warranty ran out, and never got a response. Then just after the warranty expired, the second monitor developed glitch's in it, so I am back to using my old dell mouse and monitor. The system was a complete lemon for me, far worse than the previous dell I had. Not to mention fighting with the on line service from your company and Best Buy over getting my free Vista Upgrade, since I purchased the new system just shy of the vista release.
I do not have any physical or economic issues concerning this product. It did cause me some grief when it started having problems with it while I was in technical College and needed it for home work and projects. Since then I have become disabled, and will be on SSDI soon, I need a dependable computer system that is reliable, since I depend a lot on it for my special needs. I just wanted to get this off my chest, I don't expect to get a solution to this problem or even a response from past experiences. I would like to get a lap top computer once I save up the money, it will be a long time with my income level now. I would have bought an emachines lap top, but will all the failures within a year for the desk top system. With all the problems I have had, I could not recommend to anyone buying your products. Gail of Needham, MA October 5, 2008
Gail of Needham MA (10/05/08) No more eMachine PCs for my family. First I bought an eMachine for my daughter while she was in high-school. The price was good and it worked well for a while, at least until the power supply went dead about 2 years later. I fix my own PCs so replacing the power supply was easy. It continued to work for just a little while longer. Meanwhile I bought 2 additional eMachine PCs, one for my husband and one for my father. They are now also causing problem, 2 years after purchase when the warranty has already expired. The power supply just went on one and is about to go on the other one. I just replaced the power supply on one but I think that the motherboard is gone too.

B of Pittsburgh PA (09/14/08) Bought emachine 2 years ago, now it wont' keep the monitor running. I don't know what is wrong with it, but after reading all of this, I don't want to put any money into it. How is a person supposed to know what computer is the most reliable without paying a fortune for it?
Now I cannot access all of my information for work, school, church or home - and MY PICTURES! (We did backup the pics, but still, what a pain!) Brendan of Rochester, NY September 13, 2008
