I have an Emachine T5026 that I got about 2 years ago. From the time I plugged it in I was getting the blue screen of death at least once a week. I tried the customer service and the fixes they gave me did not work. Now all get when it is started is the blue screen and it will not even start in safe mode.

I contacted customer service again and the asked for the stop code on the blue screen so I powered the computer up. Go figure, now it makes wierd noise and says I have no hard drive installed. OK I didn't remove it so the Emachine gremlin must have.

I have to purchase a new computer (needed for schoolwork).

I purchased a computer about a year and a half ago that had a two year warranty. Recently the hard drive failed and I was informed to order a new one by customer service representative when I explained to them the problem. It was only when I received the new hard drive and connected it that I was informed that I had to also have a reboot disk, which was supposed to be included with the computer at the time of purchase. I have ordered the reboot disk and spoke to one of representatives who said that it would be 2-3 business days to receive the reboot disk.

That time expired and, as a result, I called again with my case number. I was then informed that it would be 7-10 days. When he explained to me the processes incurring that time frame, I found it understandable. Unfortunately, he also informed me that I had to return the damaged hard drive within 10 days of receiving it or your company will keep my 75 holding. There is a conflict of policy for me in the fact that I need the reboot disk (which will be here in 7-10 days) in order to recover the data that is in my damaged hard drive (that I have to return in 10 days). I was only informed that I needed a reboot disk the day I received the new hard drive.

[Their] people are basically relaying to me that they can postpone their delivery of this reboot disk, but I have to return the damaged hard drive before the ten days or I will be responsible for the loss of my 75 dollars. It was product that failed, and company did not provide the reboot disk during the purchase. It was [their] representatives that gave me information that was late coming, and your services that will take 7-10 day. How am I responsible for this? I am sure that there is another company that would appreciate my business and the business of my associates in the future.

I suppose I'm in the minority, but my luck with E-machines has been great.I purchased an E-tower 500is late in 2000,at Best Buy.(Best Buy is another story).I've upgraded the memory to 256 MB,and added a larger heat-sink and processor fan .Even after overclocking (the reason for the larger fan) I have never had any problem more serious than an occasional BSOD.I've heard the E-machines horror stories, but I spend most of my free time fixing Dell's & HP's that belong to my neighbors and friends

My original purchase price was 399.00,minus a 50.00 rebate.I've spent around 200.00 on memory and cooling upgrades;0.00 on repairs.

Richard of Roseville, MI April 24, 2008

Richard of Roseville MI (04/24/08)
The E machine destroyed two motherboards and is sitting on the floor collecting dust. I repair computers. It would be one thing if I could replace the motherboard with one simmular to the imperial board, however the software is so preprietory that it will not work. I have been reading the complaints of this post. I do not own one. The reason is that THEY ARE JUNK. I had many come through my door.

No damage to me however my clients have too buy new a computer and I tell them DONT BUY AN E MACHINE or you will regret it. I reap the benefits of getting the machine to kick around.
