Gamers Irate Over NFL Madden 2008 Glitches
Consumer complaints

Bob of Pittsburgh, PA November 12, 2007

Bob Galuska of Pittsburgh PA (11/12/07)
My brother and I were playing a game and he had the ball on the 15 yard line, it was fourth and goal. He threw a pass and was ruled a touchdown, I challenged the play and it was overturned. Instead of giving me the ball on the one yard line the game gave my brother a first down and goal on the one. It should have been my ball and I was winning by a touchdown and with only less than 2 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter I probally would have won the game, Which I had 20 dollars bet on. Not only did the game cost me 20 dollars, it has driven me away form the game forever.

Madden 2008 on the next gen systems fails to deliver on features that are and have been available on the current gen versions. However when you look at their website they make the following claim which is false/misleading: Take full control of every aspect of an NFL franchise. Construct a state-of-the-art stadium, hire your coaching staff, draft players, and manage the entire operation from the top down to build your dynasty.

How can one control every aspect if its missing features that people are familiar with from the current gen games? In order to control every aspect on next gen if they are missing features are available on current gen.

For example, on current gen you can create a stadium without relocating a current team or without changing their logo. I was relying on this statement being correct when buying this game and basically it has failed to deliver on that promise. If the next gen versions werent missing features that were available on the current gen, it might be called puffery but since people have very specific knowledge of the various aspects one should be able to find based on whats in the current gen versions, its not really puffery. Its a lie.

Erik of Milwaukee, WI October 26, 2007

Erik Will of Milwaukee WI (10/26/07)
I purchased a copy of Madden NFL 2008 for Playstation 3. I only buy these games to play franchise mode. Due to major programming flaws and glitches, this option is rendered unplayable. Free agents disappear, undrafted rookies disappear, and after a couple seasons, there arent enough players to go around. Once a team becomes short at a postions, the team cannot play, which then freezes the game. Which then makes it unplayable. The game has been out fot 2 months now, and now they are finally working on patches. Now that there are many people talking about class-action lawsuits, and filing complaints with the BBB.

The game costs 60, I waited in line at midnight the day it was released, and the hours wasted playing it to find out it doesnt work.

EA Sports has rectified the situation with game freezing by providing a patch which you can download.

I am satisfied with their actions with satisfying the customer.

Michael of Virginia Beach, VA October 22, 2007

Michael J. Jones Ii of Virginia Beach VA (10/22/07)
I have bought Madden 08 for the Xbox 360 and like many others the glitches and bugs in the game won't allow me to play the Franchise mode which is the main reason I bought this game. Customers were promised a patch to fix this and was even told not to play the Franchise mode until we received the patch. Its been almost a month and still no word from an EA Sports rep.

This is false advertisement and they lied to us when they told us, being the customers, that we would receive a patch and didn't get one. That means we wasted our money on a game with a mode that is unplayable.
