Bette of Holiday, FL February 1, 2010 Bought a compaq laptop in Nov 08. 2 months later it crashed, phoned HP and they told what to do, 2 months later all I got was a white screen. Phone hp and they told me to remove the battery and put it back in. This relieved the problem for a while, the I had to phone again, same problem. Acted up all summer and had to wsit til I came back to my winter home to take it back. Whle it was still under warranty I took it back and they had it from Nov 4 to 20th. The finally replaced the LCD, now 6 weeks later its not under warranty and they wont look at it until I pay 18. per hour. I dont have that kind of money. I have had nothing but trouble with it and I alwys heard HP was a good product. I cant hardly get on my computer anymore cause it jumps all over the place and can read it. Please help me. samar of vairengte, India December 24, 2009 1. we are two customers who have bought pressario v6000 laptop in jan 2007. 2. both the laptops come with same configuration and have amd processor. 3. within 3 yrs of purchase motherboard of both the laptops has gone bad and the laptop is not swiching on. moreover, when shown to authorised compaq service station they are asking for Rs 12000 to change the mother board with only one month wty. 4. i seek company's help in either resolving the problem of the laptops, else i have decided to go to consumer court. Augustin of Durham, NC February 2, 2009 I bought a Compaq Presario desktop computer (Vista) in 2007. The recovery disc creation as explained in the user manual does not work. Compaq no longer give the recovery cd at the time of purchase. The consumer has to download the driver and copy it on a cd. Compaq wants to charge me a fee of 200.00 for sending me a component (The recovery disc drivers) that is part of the computer at the time of purchase. Serg of Poltava, AL October 22, 2008 Serg of Poltava OTHER (10/22/08) Sally of Richmond, VA September 8, 2008 Sally of Richmond VA (09/08/08) Angeline of St. Petersburg, FL April 4, 2008 I have had my Compa Presario for almost two years despite one major flaw. It gets extremely hot. The box on power cord gets so hot that even brushing it with my hand just briefly is enough to make my arm jump away. It has become even more of a hazard now that I have pets, as I do not want them to get injured. Additionally, the top left corner of the unit gets extremely hot as well, though not to the extent that the box (the adaptor?) does. This overheating problem has also caused the pixels in the lower portion of my screen to die. I feel that I must state, having dealt with many laptops in the past years, that I am well aware that laptops do get warm and sometimes hot to the touch. However, the amount of heat that is put out through the box on the power cord is unacceptable and poses a serious threat to myself and others around me. Phil of Vancouver, Canada February 20, 2008 I received a Compaq Evo for Xmas. Worked great. Then, the battery died. This cleared the bios. Could not restart the computer. I took it to Best Buy geek squad. I was told to throw computer away, as there is no way to reload bios if battery fails. A 15 battery supplied with the computer failed, and now I have a fancy bookend. I am a home-ridden disabled senior on a pension. Obviously I cannot buy a new one. This is a product that cannot be fixed. This is a first for me. Evelyn of Stanley, WI February 12, 2008 For a month now I have been getting pop-ups about renewing the service agreement on this computer. They interfear with theprograms I am running at the time. They appear 10-20 times a day I repeatedly click on not interested or I have purchased one indesperation and they keep comming back. I have never dealt with a company with such poor customer service. your overseas people don't know what they are doing.I am still dealing with with a notice on the computer that I called about months & months ago. I did step by step what you person ( who didn't even have the decency or respect to ask how to spell my name when she didn't know how to. So when my power unit went and they sent a new one for me to put in it came with some god awful mutilation that the postal workers found very funny. (Well, I didn,t I found it insulting and even though an american employee called on that subject and corrected it I still find your overseas employees attitude sickening) insulting)You can't hardly understand them, they sound like they are talking with a mouthful of something discusting and warm. And when you ask them to "please seak more slowly" or repeat what they said they act like your insulting them. What is wrong with Americans? There are plenty of unemployeed americans you could train to do the job better or at least as well and we could understand them & they would probably have the decentcy to ask how to spell a name they weren't sure of. I have no interest in a maintainence agreement with a company who doesn't think Americans are at least worth the U.S. minimun wage. Please, stop these pop-up ads and don't send any more to this computer. Thank You P.S. This hotmail email address is Valid!!!!Another example of your arrogance!I' use one I use for less important things join the throngs . Carl of Theodore, AL January 16, 2008 We bought a Compaq SR5152NX from Circuit City in Mobile, AL. on August 12th, 2007. when we got it home there was a problem right off the bat, so we called Compaq and they said it was a internet problem and to contact then. So we did. Three telephones later and a brand new one at 399.99 at Verizon wireless expense and it the problem was still there. So we recontacted compaq and they at that time told us that this new computer we had just purchased was not really new, it was REFURBISHED, but other than that what was the problem. Well, at that point, that was the problem. So after a couple of month's arguing with them, we contacted the BBB and The Attorney General's office. Finally this Ginger Borge called my wife and admitted to my wife that after throughly checking both of their data bases, that yes this computer was indeed refurbished and they had agreed they compaq would give us our money back and that Ginger would send a confirming e-mail so things could start moving. Well we got the email and Ginger stated in the email that they wanted us to send the defected tower to them and then they would send our money in 4 to 6 weeks, but on the phone they were sending a return label and to send via email or fax a copy of the receipt so they could get us our money and then send the tower back. We have also asked for a little compensation for the hours on the phone and researching into this matter. Ginger then stated we do not compensate and our company policy is you send the tower then we send the money. Now as a consumer, we had been frauduently sold a REFURBISHED as new and then compaq wants us to wait, wait, and wait some more. Janeen of Redding, CA December 29, 2007 I purchased a compaq presario computer from office depot. I had it one week and then it stopped working like it should. HP had me restore it to factory setting, then they reformatted the harddrive and i'm still getting nothing but trouble from the computer. It won't boot up right, it don't download like it should. It keeps saying your computer has a problem and i want a something done about my computer Advertisement
