Brenda of Dubois PA (02/23/06)
My son purchased an Apple ipod nano late in 2005. Of course being something new he had to have one.

Well all has been good until last week. The screen is completely black. To replace the LCD screen will cost approximately the same as the complete unit. Unfortunately the screen is not covered under the warranty.

Kelli of Sydney, Australia (02/02/06)
I received an iPod nano as a christmas gift. I plugged it in to charge it and it just flashed the apple logo constantly. I returned it to the shop and they said they had never seen this happen before. Over a week later, I received iPod number 2. Same thing happened. I returned the iPod again - again they said they had never seen this happen.

Over a week later I received iPod number 3. It seemed to be ok initially so I spent all day uploaded music to it. When I disconnected the iPod the battery was showing as being very low even though it had been plugged into the PC all day. I returned it to the shop and yes, I am now waiting for iPod number 4. The shop suggested I contact Apple Austrlia to complain and get either a brand new iPod or a different one and perhaps some free accessories. I contacted Apple Australia and after explaining my problem and asking for some form of compensation, I was told that 'Apple are not in the business of compensating their customers'. This reaks of a company that are making huge profits and frankly dont give a sh*t about their customers at all.

I purchased an iPod Nano for my son for Christmas (2005) - just as described in one of your articles, he took it out of his jacket pocket and the screen was broken. This happened on Janaury 18, 2006 - less than one month after he received it. Best Buy refused to replace it despite an extended warranty and representations by its sales person that "everything" was covered. Apple will not respond to e-mail.
