ZPDI, 0 plus calling, and network operator services are shams! Having 23 years of broadcasting under my belt, rarely have I gotten surprised about businesses and their standards. I was out of town and called my mom collect, 4 hours away, and talked maybe 4.5 minutes. The total for that 1 charge came to $31.74. I have enough sense and experience to know and recognize consumer price gouging. I can see if I called Australia or Africa, but 1 call to Bessemer, AL was that much?
Having contacts in the media throughout the U.S. and just finishing a 4-part story on price gouging in Alabama in relation to the oil spill and the tornado mishaps, this will be turned over to the powers-that-be along with Greg ** of the Attorney General's Office, a consultant who produced my story on price gouging. I spoke with AT&T earlier and this was not on their end. I don't mind paying what I owe but almost $32.00 for a 5-minute call to 4 hours away, I'm not the 1.
I'll switch my mom's service before I do that. Luckily, I'm in a position to meet with the public service commission and fill them in on what happened to me, since I have the media platform to do it, statewide and regionally. This makes me think how many other customers have been screwed.
