WebNet

Among its other problems, WebNet has been fined $1.2 million for "slamming."

Jan of Trussville AL (3/31/03):
I was billed for a call to Boaz, Alabama which neither I nor any member of my family made during a time period that WEBNET was NOT my carrier. When I contacted WEBNET (after speaking to someone at ILD Teleservices and getting the number) I was told that it took three billing cycles (months) to take the charge off, that I need not pay it and it would be taken off. That was in August of 2002. I called WEBNET again in November of 2002 and was given the same song and dance. It is now March of 2003 and the charge is still on my bill. I refuse to pay it. WEBNET was NOT my provider and I did NOT make that call.

Susan of Waterloo IA (8/6/02):
Let me tell you how disappointed I am in your service, company and people. My problem goes back December 20, 2001. I spoke to Laura about an overcharge on some long distance calls. They agreed that there was a mistake and a credit of $25.34 was in order. Next month, nothing happened. On Feb. 9th I called and talked to Sophia. She said it would be taken care of and to call back in two weeks to make sure. Nothing happened. On March 18th I spoke to Joe Samos. He said he would personally give instructions to the supervisor Danille Rios and the matter would be settled. Again, nothing happened.

On May 2nd I called again and spoke to Sophia. She ASSURED me the money would be credited by next month June ALONG with any late fees. Also we talked about the sign-on bonus of $50.00. Nothing happened. On June 5th I called again and spoke to Supervisor Jessica Loca. The credit would be credited the next cycle. At this time I inquired about the $50.00 I was to receive for changing over to WebNet. She, Jessica said it WOULD be paid. Nothing again. In mid June I again spoke to Sophia. It will be on the July statement! I received my statement again and nothing.

Today, August 5th I called again and spoke to Sophia. She was VERY rude to me and was raising her voice to me. Now it seems the credit should be issued on August 28th. I asked the amount and she told me it was only for $25.34. I asked about the late charges that were promised to be paid. She siad they WOULD NOT pay any other fees. Also, I asked about my $50.00 and she told I WOULD NOT be getting that as I did not have WebNet for 6 months. That is NOT TRUE! I started with WebNet in November and the December 2001 bill reflected my calls. I had your services until June of 2002.

Brunella of Houma LA writes (9/27/01):
I have been trying to reach WEBNET by telephone and cannot reach them. The call answers but then after I select English for help, I get put on hold and no one ever comes on to help me.
