Pernell of Silvewr Spring MD (12/02/08) A charge was place on my Verizon phone bill for some enhanced web browsing and enhanced voice mail and long distance. When I talk to a Verizon representive I was told the charge was from a third party service that they allowed to unlawfuly charge me over 27.00 for service that I did not order. Thank God my wife noticed it as soon as she did. It had only been two months at 27.00 for to different line items. The company's name as stated on my bill is ESBI. I had Vertizon to put a block on my service that would stop any future attemps to place false service charges on my account but i was told that I would have to deal with the company that Verizon allowed to scam me. When you call the number next to the charge on by verizon bill all I got was a run around from line to line and finally ended up with a recording to leave a message for a call back. Right!
Verizon is just as hard to nail down unless you are tryiong to discontinue you phone service sometimes. We as consumers and the the powers to be must find a way to deal with this and find a way to hold companies like Verizon responsible for helping in the usery that seems to be an every day event.I'm sure that Verizon gets their cut and might be invested in the companies that arte doing this. If Comsumer Affairs or any one out there knows of someone or a group of someones that has a way or is trying to put something together for protection from this kind of scam please let me know. Lets get the wird to companies like Verizon to watch out. Ther are other companies that would love to have loyal customers. I have had services with them this they started under their present name.
Mental fustration and a waste of a lot of my personal time. Of course I'm also out 52.80 for two mounts on a service I didn't ask for or didn't need or use. My time is already spent trying to make the money that I have to be to keep tabs on my so called honest phone company. So I'm saying that my time is being wasted and my mind is being played. I mentaly tired and feed up.

Sharon of Damascus, MD November 30, 2008
Sharon of Damascus MD (11/30/08) I lost TV, phone and internet service on the morning of 10/31/08. Verizon promised a tech would visit on 11/1/08 and gave me an 11 hour window! No tech visited during that time. I called Verizon and was given a 4 hour window on 11/2/08 during which a tech would visit. Not tech arrived on 11/2. I was then promised a tech on 11/3 but informed Verizon I had to work and no one would be avaialbe to allow a tech access to the home.
When I arrived home that evening there was a note on my door from a tech who had visited, saying the problem was fixed, but I still had no service. I was next given an appointment for 8 a.m. on 11/5. A tech did arrive sometime after 10 a.m. and restored service without gaining access to the home.
I had used a vacation day on 10/31 to stay home from work and tend to personal business on the Internet and by phone, but was unable to accomplish anything. I spent an entire Saturday and 1/2 a Sunday at home waiting for tech who was promised, but never dispatched. I incurred the expense of having to use my cell phone to contact Verizon, at times being left on hold for 15 minutes or more. I had to travel to the nearest library to access the Internet. Duress, hypertension, loss of sleep, headaches are among the physical damages I suffered.
Dr. of Minneapolis, MN November 30, 2008
Dr. of Minneapolis MN (11/30/08) Verizon gave away my old number to someone who failed to pay their bill. Verizons collection agency harassed and hounded ME! Calling my sick elderly mothers landline repeatedtly harassing moms nurse! I moved to northern MN. where Verizon had no service forcing me to switch service to a small local phone company after three years of nearly continuous billing issues with my Verizon service. Since I heard many horror stories about Verizon I went to a verizon store in Virginia MN and had them call the billing/customer service at Verizon.
I asked the customer service rep What do I need to pay to get a ZERO ballance and on exactly what date can I cancil my service without problems or any fees I set my account to cancil on the exact date I was told and paid exactly the amount I was told to pay by the VERIZON CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTITIVE. About three weeks later receive a bill for over three hundred! I call Verizon and explain and get a big argument for over one hour! Two weeks later I get a reduced bill but still 147 dollars which was my normal monthly bill I call Verizon back they admitted the previous bill was a mistake! I said this bill is also a mistake! Verizon claims the 147dollars was for the last month. I explain again that I contacted Verizon and got the Zero ballance final amount and paid it and that the billing has always been for the month ahead from the beginning never for the previous month!
I refused to pay the 147.00 bill and after more harassment I was sent to collection . Verizon finally sold the debt to a collection agency. folowing further harassment, I finally sucumbed to EXTORTION and PAID the collection agency IN FULL because my credit score which was 807 had been dammaged twice by Verizon (double jepordy) for the same bill! My credit score had dropped to 650 and I needed a Mortgage! Even after paying the first Verizon Collection Agency IN FULL! Yesterday I got a third collection demand letter for Over 147 dollars! Im ready to SUE Verizon for fraud and extortion and harassment! Will someone help me?
