TracFone Pays $50,000 for Violating Missouri's Do Not Call Law

I have a Tracfone and I am getting nowhere with them. I received a ticket on 1/17/08 for talking on my Tracfone, which I was not doing and I need proof from Tracfone before my court date on 1/30/08. I need my dialed out numbers from date1/17/08 between the morning hours 10:30-11:00 am. They tell me I HAVE TO WAIT 30 DAYS and IT'S TO LATE. What horrible service, I will never recommend this service to anyone.

My Tracfone one day all of a sudden when I called said Welcome to Verizon Wireless, please hold while your call is transferred to an external operator. I quit using the phone, it still has the airtime good till 2009, and still has units on it. I decided tonight to test something, and I called my Tracfone phone number from another phone. Someone answered that has a Verizon Wireless phone, it appears to me that Tracfone has given my phone number to Verizon Wireless somehow.  This phone was being used as a temporary business phone, and was going to be used again for the same purpose, so Tracfone has cost me business and alot of money.

I have been a customer since 2004. In October 2007, I received notice that due to upgrade in the company's technology, my old phone was to be disconnected. They sent a new phone. I have called their customer service line 1-800-867-7183, got the press a number for this or that, and always get the run-around to different employees speaking broken English. I had over 1200 minutes balance on the old phone but cannot call the new phone. It says 10 units airtime. A call from a landline gets the message that the number you dialed is not a working number. I have been passed around, on at least FIVE (5) calls, to different people with poor English, and have had to repeat things such as serial number, SIM#, IMEI#, my name, landline phone #, zip code, over and over. The last employee I talked to, Duma in Bogota, Columbia, kept asking me the same questions because my system is falling down. Her only solution was to give me a different case number so I can call back and talk to someone else. Yeah, and get the run-around from others equally deficient in English skills. Their lack of service amounts to consumer fraud.

I have spent at least 3 hours trying to communicate with these people and get the phone activated. I am a health care professional. My time is worth 90.00 per hour, but the frustration and stress cannot be quantified, not to mention the lack of emergency phone service.

I was informed by email that my Tracfone would not work anymore unless I upgraded to a new one; they were upgrading to new technology in my area. I did and was sent a new phone that I had to transfer all my units and number. It works to call out, but I cannot receive calls. After three attempts to correct the problem via the 800 number I still cannot receive phone calls. They gave me a ticket number and told me to call back in 24 hours. I did this three times. It still does not work, and I am frustrated because they want to do this to my husband's Tracfone, also.

I might have to buy a new phone and lose all my units and time on the Tracfone that I bought, with same problem to my husband's.

Tracfone basically has No customer phone service. I have called several times seeking assistance with a value plan problem and am always put on hold.

Their computer isn't working or I need to be transferred to another department and then the transfer never happens, I'm just disconnected.
