Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I ordered a Droid 3 by Motorola but what I received was an Xperia play by Sony Ericson.

I ordered a phone and service package for Verizon from Lets Talk. The Lets Talk online form was not working so I called to place my order. Because the phone was activated before placing it in the shipping package and because Lets Talk entered an incorrect address. I did not have the phone until after 7 days after activation when the cancellation period was over. I contacted Verizon as indicated in their terms and conditions because there was no contact information for Lets Talk and because the terms and conditions indicated I should contact Verizon. Verizon incorrectly arranged for the phone to be returned to their wareshouse and made arrangements for a Fed Ex expedited pick up which also utilized the incorrect address entered by Lets Talk. The phone is now misplaced by Verizon and is being located. Verizon has noted that a return was authorized.

Lets Talk changed without authorization an amount of $250 from my checking account without any previous notification or billing. The terms and conditions indicate that I could owe this amount if the contract is terminated early but there is no condition that allows them to deduct randomly at a time of their choosing from my account. I am incurring over draft fees and checks are being returned. I am only paid once a month so this is an extremely difficult situation since I am at month end waiting for bills to be cleared through this same account.

Today my cell phone service was"interrupted".After much research earlier this summer I landed on Letstalk.com to secure cell phone service after having incorrectable problems with T-Mobile. Letstalk hooked me up with AT&T. Good plan. free phones, 100.00 in rebates and a price that I felt I could manage. NOTE: We have cell phone service on our fixed ,low income because my husband is chronically ill .

I got my first bill on 11/27/08. It was for 251.00. I nearly fainted. Before I had the chance to call and get an explanation of the charges ( I could not make sense of them myself)we received a " you have have not paid your bill yet" reminder on 12/02/08.

I got up this morning (12/04) and tried to call to get an explanation of my bill and I had no service. When I got through to them on my landline they said that the bill was high because they always charge a month in advance. How could they know what I was going to use my phone for a month in advance? Well,AT&T said pay it in full or have no service. I am mad at AT&T but I am more mad at Letstalk.com because they did not inform me of this interesting facet of my service. And apparently now I can't get my rebates because in order to get a rebate you must be a customer in good standing for at least four months. Blew that didn't I.

On April 29, on the LetsTalk Web site there was a promotion on cell phones which clearly specified a rebate when you purchase a plan, which I did. After complying with all the requirements for the rebate, I was turned down stating that I was not qualified. After several phone calls and e-mails LetsTalk did not honor their promotion and refused to send a rebate of $400.00. If it wasn’t for the promotion I would have never purchased a plan for $549.00.

Offered $150 rebate on cell phone with subscription to Cingular. After signing up they tell you you must wait four months before applying for the rebate. Applying for a rebate requires multiple original documents including original packing slip and original bill for second months service from cingular. None of these terms were disclosed before purchase and contract with Cingular. My first rebate was rejected (six months after) because I had sent the 3rd months bill from cingular. Eight months after purchase my rebate was rejected because it didn't include the original packing slip (that I sent with the first rebate application).

I signed up with a lousy plan that turned out to be very expensive - phone $400, calling plan $600. Still no $150 rebate
