This Company has for the last few years been adding charges to my phone bill that I did not authorize. I have to call them 3 to 4 times before they credit the charges and have them removed from my bill at Embarq.

I am being charged a 5.00 late fee because I refuse to pay these unauthorized cahrges ILD adds to my monthly bill.

Sharon of Winter Park, FL July 30, 2008

Sharon of Winter Park, FL (07/30/08)
Our phone billed was crammed for 49.95. When I first called regarding the services added to our account, I was informed that our receptionist authorized the charges to our bill. She has no such authorization. They stated that they would terminate the service and credit our account. The following month, I received a charge and a credit on our phone bill. I called once again and was told that the credit was for the charge appearing on the statement. When I asked for the credit for the first charge, I was told that I would have to place that in writing.

I'm am hoping for the refund. I am holding by breath based on the other complaints I have seen. The time it has taken to deal with these illegal charges and the long distance fax and postage to request a refubd in writing.

Stewart of Plainfield, NJ July 30, 2008

Stewart of Plainfield NJ (07/30/08)
Though my wife had been routinely paying the phone bill all along, I had occasion to look at it and wondered what the charges for OTHER? on page 5 of the bill were for. On checking I found a service named ILD. On calling the number on the phone bill, the agent that answered wasnt quite sure what to say when I questioned the service they were providing me. They said that maybe I have a personal 800 number or had calls forwarded. I assured them that I had neither asked them how and where they got any authorization to levy charges on my phone bill. They said they got it from a website called coolsavings.com. I had advised them that I had never authorized any such payments through any website and why they authorized it without checking with me first?

Not answering that question, they changed the subject and said they would refund 2 payments of my most recent phone bills. I told them that I had a lot more than that and had checked my bills as far back as march of 2007 and they owe me at least 377.02 and possibly more as I hadnt as yet had a chance to check my bills prior to that date. They told me that I would have to fax them copies of all the bills in question to receive further refunds.
