Since I've been with Cordia, I've experienced two technical difficulties. I wasn't able to make outgoing calls. I am experiencing this for the second time now. It has been going on for two days now. I haven't had a technician call me yet. I was told that I will not receive credit for this inconvenience.
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

Michael called to tell me I could save money on my long distance service. He asked questions about my monthly long distance charges, and I asked why he was calling. He said he wanted to talk about my phone bill. I asked again why he was calling, and who he was representing. He said he called people all day to bug them, and continued with sarcastic comments. I asked to speak with his supervisor, and he said his supervisor would not want to hear any complaints about him. Justin ** eventually got on the phone, and began arguing and accusing me of not giving them a chance to help me. It was a bizarre conversation with him trying to shout me down. He said Cordia leases some lines from the Bell Company. They are very rude, accusatory, and out of line.
I hung up, with him shouting at me. Just want to know if there is any way they can be held accountable for badgering and insulting people over the phone. I imagine they could intimidate and confuse some people to buy their service.

Cordia has got me in a situation where I am upset. I am unable to call my fiance's mobile in Manila Philippines. I am getting a recording like I need to add funds to my account like this are some sort of stupid prepaid service. I am in such a bad mood right now I feel like canceling Cordea. Like I told the person that set me up with cordia the only place I call other then the USA is 1 phone number in the Philippines. If I do not get a satisfactory resolution to this issue I will be canceling Cordia.
I have been using a cell phone when I got that stupid recording but the rate was 50 cents a minute. I sent this note to Cordia numerous times. Is there any way I can have an unlimited calling plan to the Philippines attached to this account. Like I said I call the USA Canada and the Philippines mostly. Will you help me think up a way to lower my Philippine Cost?
When I was using Vonage my bills would be between 130 dollars and 160 dollars calling the Philippines. When I signed up for cordia I was under the impression that the Philippine rate was between 5 and 7 cents and yesterday somebody told me it was 14 cents. Help. And by that they should have known I called the Philippines mostly. I even state it in the note. I also told people I only get paid once a month and one lady at Cordia talks like I need to ad funds to my account like this was some type of pre paid garbage. if I had known I would run into pre paid garbage or adding funds to my account I would have never signed up for Cordia.

My mother had no phone service for 5 days! I called my mother's phone number (this number she had for 40 years) to find out Cordia gave it to someone else! My mother has medical illnesses and can not call 911 if needed! If any emergency occurs and something happens to my mother, Cordia will be held responsible! Her monthly bill is paid in full. My step-father saw Cordia techs working in the next building and explained this situation and was told to "go down into the basement and check the wires". How unprofessional! Her service should be restored ASAP.

My son, who is 26, autistic, and mildly mentally impaired, lives in his own apartment. This company called him on December 22, 2009 and asked him a few questions. They then changed his phone service over to their company. I called the next day and told them not to, saying that I am my son's payee and that they could not change the bill without my authority. They changed it anyway. I called my son's original provider, Verizon, that same day and asked them to place a block on his account so that it could not be changed. It was changed anyway. We got an unusual bill from Verizon a month later and I called. It was supposed to be taken care of.
David never got a bill from Cordia. On 2/4/10 David got a final bill from Verizon. I called Verizon and they said that David's service had been changed to Cordia and was on vacation. I called Cordia and they said that it was disconnected for non-payment in the amount of about $80. When I said that they were never supposed to have changed his service, they said that I had never called and that they had sent two bills and made collection phone calls. David never received a bill. The cost of David's phone service increased. I think though I haven't seen a bill and it is now disconnected.

My mentally unstable brother who lives with my 93-year old mother agreed to change my mother's telephone service to Cordia. My mother is physically and mentally unable to consent. I have financial guardianship for my mother. When I found out last month, I called and notified them that my brother was not authorized to do this. I was told my brother would have to cancel which he did. He does not work and has no money to pay a phone bill. AT&T is no longer my mother's provider and in order to reinstate, it will cost $65 plus her phone number will have to be changed. I have no idea what my brother agreed to in relation to cost. My mother and brother live on my mother's social security check of $1,055/month so this is a major hardship for all involved.

In Sept of 2005 I cancelled my service with Cordia. I paid my debt, but they continued to send bills. I paid thinking I had owed them some more money but the amounts then began to show in the negative. This showing me that I had overpayed. I called them on May 26, 2006 since they had stopped sending bills and had not sent a refund check. I requested my refund which they said they would send in 6-8 wks.
After that time, I still had not recieved anything and called again. This time they stated the refund check takes 10-12 wks not 6-8. I waited some more. I called November 3rd 06 asking why my check hadn't been sent and I wanted to speak to a manager. They would not forward me to one and insisted that they did not know why but the report(claim) was not proccesed and that she,(the rep) was handling it right now and the check would come to me in 1-2 weeks. Well, We are now 1 year and 2 months from the date I had cancelled my account with them and still no refund check. I called Nov. 16 and they could not explain why I didn't get my check, they told me the usual, they are processing the claim and in 2 wks, I should get a check. I asked persistently for a managers name which after being kept on hold for 20 min. was refused.
I finally told them I would be reporting them to the consumer affairs and attorney general. After holding some more, They allowed me to speak to "Kelly". (They said they were not allowed to divulge last names), and she told me I had to call on Monday(next week)to speak to Lorie. Kelly said she was the PM supervisor, and Lorie was her supervisor. They would not give any more information.

ON 9/12 I CALLED AND CANCELED THE SERVICE I WAS TOLD THAT THE SERVICE WAS STILL WITH MY OLD COMPANY VERIZON

NOW I CHANGED TO CABLEVISION VOICE AND I GET A BILL FORM CORDIA.
I CALLED THEM AND THEY PLAY MY TAPE RECORDER MESSAGE OF MY ORDER
I SAID I KNOW I ORDER IT BUT WHY ARE YOU PLAYING IT
PLAY MY CANCELLATION ORDER TAPE. I WAS TOLD THEY DON'T TAPE THAT... I CALLED ABOUT 6 TIMES, EMAIL AND WHEN I CALLED TODAY 11/16 I WAS TOLD IT TOOK THEM 2 WEEKS TO CANCEL THE ORDER. WHY WAS I NOT TOLD IT TOOK A WEEK TO GET THE SERVICE - BUT IT WAS DONE IN 2 DAYS AND NOT TOLD WHEN I CANCEL THE SERVICE? IT TOOK 2 WEEKS TO CANCEL? THEY WANT 65 DOLLARS OR I WILL GET A REPORTED ON MY CREDIT REPORT
I PAID VERIZON FOR THAT MONTH
PLEASE HELP ME

I was marketed to Cordia in the spring of 2005. During this marketing session I was advised that with Cordia Residential Unlimited Service for $39.95 per month that I would have unlimited local and long distance. At no time during this marketing session was data minutes mentioned. Based on what I was told, I agreed to switch to Cordia. When I was switched to confirm this and was told there would be charges if certain minutes (I later learned the term, data minutes) went over a limit I stated I did not want anything that could involve extra charges. At that point I was switched back to the Cordia marketer who assured me that with the unlimited plan there would be no extra charge.
We discussed this for a few minutes until I felt comfortable that there in fact would be no extra charge and I was again switched to confirm my choice. Once again I was told of extra charges that could result with this plan and once again I stated I did not want any extra charges and once again I was switched back to the marketer. This happened three times. Each time the representative would mention extra charges, with no further explanation and switched me back to the marketer then the marketer would take time to explain that the Residential Unlimited plan that I was getting was in fact unlimited and assured me there would be no extra charges (as I was being told in the confirmation part of the call). I finally signed up under the impression that no extra charges could or would apply.
My first bill dated May 22, 2005 charged me for my phone and an extra phone. I was being charged for 2 phone numbers, one was mine and I have no idea where or whose the other number came from. After a call to Cordia it was agreed that my bill would be adjusted and I would wait for my next bill to pay what I owed. My June bill was adjusted, the charges for the phone that was not mine had been removed but now I was being charged a finance or late fee and the taxes on the charges were still being billed. I was also now being charged for local data minutes over 1000 used. The marketer had given me false information.
I again called Cordia. After at least 2 phone calls and much debate, I was allowed to back date an up grade to the next plan for $49.95, which I was under the impression would NOW give me UNLIMITED calling and the charges for the data minutes were dropped. (I now paid $49.95 instead of $39.95 and I received a credit for $15.79.)
Things seemed to be going well, and I was given the free service as I had been offered in the marketing session.
NOW on my October bill I am being charged an extra $75.48 for data minutes over 5000 used. I did not know that I still had a limit and would be charged for excess. I have called Cordia 3 times and am getting no help other than they may give me partial credit of about $30.00. I was also informed that they had no way of notifying me when I was getting close to my limit nor was there a way that I could track the minutes used.
