African People Phone Card

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I bought a calling card and it said I have 22 minutes, and it only gave me five minutes. The card is called the African Leader, symbol on the bottom is BASC.

I didn't get a chance to use the minutes I paid for and my call was disconnected, and it was my only calling card. The toll-free number is 1888-553-9268 and the PIN is **. It stated I had 22 minutes and only gave me five minutes.

I bought a $5 prepaid phone that could not make a single call. When I tried again to make call, I was told that no balance left on card. I called the main customer service number and got the rudest person ever. First he did not greet me, made me hold while he was talking to one of his coworker for a good 3-minute, then starting yelling on the phone" I can't do anything and won't do anything because you have made a 11min phone call on that card".

He then hung up before I got a chance to explain anything. Please do not buy Sky Africa, bunch of crooks. No wonder there is a settlement going on right now.

Purchased calling 20 calling card for Africa with 20 different pin#, The card could not complete one single call. customer service promise to inform thier technical depatment to fix the problem. Two weeks gone problem persist. Customer service said no refund and no further action. "This is my loss". Beware of IFoneAfrica. LOSS $45.00

I purchased a prepaid calling card for $5.00 that promised 74 minutes on the packaging. I dialed the toll free # (888-648-7584) and put in my PIN (6968 4445 9547).

After my first call of less than 2 minutes, I tried to make another call and was told I had no more minutes. I called the customer service number at the bottom (888-746-4013) and keep getting a "line busy" message. I kept leaving messages and calling over and over, and finally someone answered.

He asked me for the control number at the bottom of the card, and then went on the computer and reset my card, and I was able to make another call for less than 2 minutes, only to get another message again saying I had no more minutes. I have been calling again and left several messages, which were never answered.

I have not been able to get through to that customer service number since then.

I bought an african sky card on march 29 for $2.50. and tried to call to ethiopia. It didn't connect me at first try and when i tried for second time it says i dont have enough money. I called customer service and they were closed. On the next day i called again for customer service and try to explain what happened. However the customer service representative told me i don't have enough credit. i was arguing with her that i deserve my credit back since i haven't even talk a word using this card number. But she said i am talking nonsense and hang up on me.

I tried to call back a couple of times to talk to back supervisor who can help me. I could't even get a number to contact an authority who is responsible for the situation. I am very angry the way they treat me. They do not have a right to insult me or hang up on me especially when i don't get the service for the money that i paid for. I will not stop calling or trying to contact the responsible authority until i get the right justice.

I lost $2.50 which is not a big deal but I am insulted, disrespected and emotionally feel bad.

the calling cards from them (CTA africa and Africa sky) do not reach the destination, and take your credit. a total of $15 (might sound petty)was taken out without me being able to reach out to my family. I called the customer support center, and they hang up on me about 5 times. I spoke to Cynthia a supervisor who was the rudest customer service i have encountered to this day. i am outraged by their behavior and lack of consideration. The way their card works: you make a call, whether it rings or not units are taken out. There are no calling cards, that I know of, who refuse to refund for calls that did not go through, or for the phone just ringing.

i am no exceptions, as their refund phone service is set up in a way that greatly differs from others. They never ask u the phone number you dialed in order to judge wether or not you deserve a refund. For me that means that automatically any request for refunds is : NO. i took the time to write because most of the african community either illiterate or dont even know they can complain against such companies ripping them off their hard earned money. i wish i had a way to make people aware of companies like this to help people around me.

I am an international student here and need financial support from my family, spenfin $15 on calling cards in 2 days is more thatn my allowance permits. Thank you. lost $15 and did not get to speak to my parents in Burkina faso (Ouest Africa)

I buy card. I need call mothr in Misisisipi when I stays in Detriot on busnis. I pay 5O dollar. I try almost 2O time in one night to call but then it say I out of money. Tis card rip off. I use all my check to by card now i have wait to nex month so try again with some else card. mmother must tink I mad or dont like her no more cos i not call her. I need moeny back. I have stuff I needs to by.

I bought a calling card with the Pin# 255-916-1999 that suppose to give 18 minutes to international call but this card stopped just < 2mins. And when the number was redial. I had a message tha said I have $0.74 left. I called the consumer servise fr the company I spokre to Cassey who said nothing can be done.

I see this act as a fraudulent act of making money fron the public. If 10,000 should use the same card a day, this company would be making ~ $170,000.00 in a 18mins without delivery the service they advertise on the cards. Please be reminded that this company will not even disclose all these profit to the IRS. This is another fraud.

I bought prepaid phone card called Africa Sky, and when I to make a phone call there was no ring, I waited few sends then hang up, but when I try to dial again their message system told me there is no credit for me to make a phone call. Normally when you call their eight hundred number, they were able to give your credits back on the card. They denied giving me my credits back, saying it was my fault. This is a complete rip of, and I would like you to do something about it.

I lost $2.50, this is the most resent, there were others as well, but this a way they collect consumers money, no one has done anything yet. I lost trust buying such cards.

I used their phone card to make a call and got only 17 minutes out of 1 hour 17 minutes I was told I had. I called customer service and the lady I spoke to told me that they would credit some amount to my card in 45 minutes and that I needed to call then to find out how much they decided to credit me. When I asked to speak with a superior I was lied to and told that they were in a meeting.

What they have done is steal from me in broad daylight. I paid for a service that I was not fully provided with. Buying the phone card was a waste of my money.

They are robbers

I tried using one of their $2.00 calling cards to call Kenya. Call didnt go through and yet the value of the card was drastically reduced to $1.35. I know it sounds like only 0.65, but I am sick of the pattern of robbery that these calling card companies are getting away with.
