Stargate

Teresa of Wayne NJ (07/27/06)
I placed an order on the website for a digital camera and carrying case. I needed to call and confirm the order as per the website details. I called and spoke to a gentleman but was not able to get his name. When I tried to confirm the order he tried to sell me batteries, I explained to him that I have already purchased the batteries and charger at an earlier date and now just need the camera and cae. He told me that, my story was very hard to believe and became very rude.

I asked him why he was continuinly trying to upsell me items when i told him I was not interested and just wanted to confirm my $400.00 purchase. He told me I am very abnoxious and that the camera has now become out of stock and I would have to wait 9 weeks for the camera. (the website states the camers is in stock and ready to ship). He told me to wait 9 weeks or cancel my order, I told him to cancel the order and he hung up. I called back to complain about the extremly rude treatment and I got another even more rude assisitant.

He told me that the brand new camera is now on back order and the refurbished one is in stock. I told him that it does not mention refurbished cameras anywhere on the website. I then told him that if I did not call to complain and then cancle my order a referbished camera would have been shipped to my house, I would have not know that it was not brand new. I asked why it was not stated on the site that referbished cameras will be shipped to your house. He told me that the sight did not state brand new and they did not need to state referbished. He then hung up the phone on me.

On 07/17/06 I placed an order online at stargatephoto.com and received an email requesting me to confirm the order by phone. I called on 07/18/06 and requested that the order be cancelled as I had changed my mind. No merchandise had been shipped and no charge had been made. I was told by James, aka JJ, that if I wanted to cancel the order I would have to pay 25% of the cost of the pending transaction, and that if I did not send a money order for this amount within three days he would personally see to it that my credit was ruined (his words were 'f**ked up').
