Anthony of Evans GA (07/17/08)
I ordered a camcorder and after being lied to several times, I decided to cancel the order. The order was confirmed approx. 7PM 16 Jul 08; I called to cancel the order about 10 mins later and was told I could not cancel the order because it had already shipped and if I sent the item back it would cost me a 15% restocking fee.

Here are some of the reasons I wanted to cancel the order: 1. Original price was $886; when I was called to confirm the item it was over $1000 and missing items. I was told that taxes were added, but I discovered only orders from NY are charged state taxes; I live in GA. 2. I also purchased two batteries, but on the purchase order they were incorrect; they were a lower grade of battery. 3. After calling three times attempting to cancel the order, I was told not to call back anymore and just enjoy my package. 4. When I told the sales rep I would report this incident; the sales rep laughed and said go-ahead. 5. The sales rep was rude and would not give his name.

Ordered Combo packe 12--Canon eos rebel xsi. online. Added extra battery grip. $1028 cost. Recieved phone call 'shortly' thereafter by Tom. you forgot to order the batteries Thought okay, for the battery grip. Ordered two for $149, Also 'upgrade' to the two lens offered, to autofocus, for $199. Told no cannot afford it, tom, indicated i will sell it to your for $99. Was quickly rush to a new email to open up to approve new charges on what was verbally stated. Was verbally instructed to electronically to sign at two indicated places, but was never verbally told where to look for the listing of the products agreed upon.

An email was sent to this company today(7/12/08), one day after this transaction was made(7/11/08) I cannot access my billing info on thsi site, or my mailing address. Odd. I have read the other Posts about this site, too late for me. I immediately contacted American Express About the going ons of the company in the evening of 7/11/08 and morn of 7/12/08. I have closed out this account and statred a new one with Amer. Express, thinking fotoconnection may tack on further unwarranted charges. I told them that i do not want this 'fotoconnection' paid.

Waiting on pending post from fotoconnection to my credit card

Richard of Sparks NV (07/09/08)
On 07-08-08 I placed an order for 2 - Canon SD1000 cameras. Quoted $19.38 shipping. I received an email asking me to call to confirm my order. A Sam then proceeded to attempt to sell me accessories, a longer lasting rechargeable battery and battery charger. I told him no thanks. He then said there will be an additional $20.00 per camera for shipping insurance and that this was a good idea. I told him that I did not care for shipping insurance and I would but it elsewhere if that was the case. He said I would be charged this amount anywhere I go. I told him I begged to differ. He then said he would throw in the accessories that he offered to sell me previously (a longer lasting rechargeable battery and battery charger) for free to make it up to me.

I told him no that I now just wanted to cancel my order. He said okay but there will be a 15% restocking fee since he has processed my order! Do I have to say anymore about the shady practices that this company has in store for customer (victims). I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. If I had done a small amount of research on this company I would have found that this behavior is their normal mode of operation and they are getting away with it daily to the dread of unsuspecting customers all over the USA. Internal terrorists.

Hopefully none I will have to wait and see.

In December 2004, I purchased a 34 Sony Trinitron Wega HDTV from FotoConnection and, against all objective advice by professionals, I purchased the 3-year extended warranty. By February 7, 2005, the TV had gone completely dead and needed a new motherboard, which was covered under the manufacturer's warranty. On April 24 2007, the TV died again and needed a new motherboard, which was replaced under the extended warranty. Sony sent a faulty motherboard and so the motherboard had to be replaced yet again. On June 6, 2008, after my 3-year extended warranty expired, the TV died yet again and yes, again, it is the motherboard. Having made no headway with Sony after a month of trying, I called FotoConnection to see what they could do.

Reggie Walker, a customer service supervisor, claiming to be the highest person with whom I could speak, was rude, condescending and sarcastic and attempted to make me look like a complete idiot. He even claimed that the president of the company resides in Israel. When asked whether he had had this issue before, the answer was yes, but that it wasn't FotoConnection's problem. Based on Reggie's responses, it seems FotoConnection is knowingly selling faulty equipment. In fact, it would explain why they have the best prices out there and why they now have some kind of 10-day disclaimer for getting your money back.

No one should ever buy anything from this company EVER. I should have conducted my research before. There are thousands of complaints on the internet about this company and not just for faulty TVs, but for faulty appliances, cameras, everything. It appears that selling faulty equipment is how they make their money. Here's a website with more complaints.

I either have to go without a TV or shell out another several hundreds to a thousand dollars for a new TV.

Traci of Woodbridge VA (06/25/08)
My husband and I together sat down at the computer and carefully ordered the full size LG Steam Washer and Dryer along with two pedestals for $199 each from Fotoconnection. We chose them because they advertised the cheapest price on something we'd been shopping for for a long time. When the product finally arrived, it was not what we ordered. The 1 box that arrived indicated it was a full size washer. We also received two pedestals. When we looked at the invoice it said it was a washer and a dryer (all in one?) that listed for $1679 I think and the pedestals were $479 a piece in Stainless Steel which we knew we had not ordered (we ordered white).

With the driver's phone we called the company. As soon as we said our order was incorrect, my husband was hit with a barrage of insults including what an idiot he was that couldn't place an internet order and that no one else has had that problem (my husband is an attorney and I have a college degree. I really don't think internet ordering is beyond us). We got no where with the guy on the phone except he said to call back with our correct numbers and that we would be charged a 15% restocking fee.

When I tried to call back two days later to the ext. he provided, he kept transferring me to a line where no one answered or putting me into their call que which told how many calls were ahead of me. When it got down to me, I heard ringing, a pick up, and then classical music again and another line to wait. After three times of this, I realized I was being given the shaft and so called his ext. several times. He finally answered and began yelling at me about how I made him lose a $15,000 sale and that my husband and I were the biggest [expletive] idiots. I remained calm and said, May I speak to the owner. More insults and then I repeated myself. We went through four or five exchanges this way, me being called things that no one has ever said to me before. The last time I said, Can I speak to the owner? He said, Why, because you want to tell him what an [expletive] idiot you are? Sarcastically I responded, Yes, please give me that opportunity. He then yelled, What!? I replied, Can I please speak to the owner?

Finally, he put me through to a customer service rep who was only slightly more friendly. He at least spoke to me in a non-juvenile manner. After weighing my options of trying to reorder or get a refund, I found it wisest to cut my loses. This amounted to $750 of the $2700 I had paid for my washer and dryer and two pedestals. The charges were for $500 shipping to and from and a $250 restocking fee which he claimed to have cut me a break on at 10%. We do not believe we placed the order wrong. They insist we did and that we're idiots. Even if we did somehow, should we be penalized $750 plus unlimited emotional abuse for this?

It appears we've lost $2700 and some of our dignity after being treated and spoken to like we were the lowest of pond scum.

Darryl of Pittsburgh PA (06/22/08)
Purchased a Nikon P80 camera kit that included the optional lens kit. They did not ship a critical piece needed to connect the lenses to the camera. They have discontinued the kit but they will not take the optional package back.

Their story changes every time I talk to them (5 times either through email or phone)and the last conversation was MUCH less than professional on their part. I am basically out more than $150 in this fraudulent sale. They advertised as In-Stock and ready to ship and they basically have said too bad - get lost.

$150 loss on a package that was not delivered in full and cannot be used without the additional piece.

Sharon of Lafayette CO (06/04/08)
I tried ordering a Nikon DSLR camera package for $799 that stated it came with a Nikkor (Nikon) lens. When Barry called to confirm the order, he stated that the lens was plastic and that I can upgrade to a digital lens. I asked if their was a weight difference and he stated no. I was confused since I thought Nikon only made one 18-135mm lens and Barry said that they make different lenses for different parts of the country. He also went on to say that Nikon USA wouldn't know about the lens that he was offering in the upgrade since they get it directly from their Nikon dealer.

I asked him about the Nikkor lens that was stated in the package and he said that the lens in the package wasn't a Nikon lens, but a Nikkor mount lens to fit on a Nikon camera. He then stated that he will send me an e-mail with the specifics and I can either agree or disagree to the upgrade with a reply e-mail. I never received an e-mail until later that stated I was being charged 1028.98 for the upgraded package.

I contacted Barry and asked him to cancel my order but he refused to listen to me. He kept stating that I won't be disappointed and that he will credit me $20 (he had quoted me over the phone that the upgraded package will cost approx $1008) and if I didn't like the package, he will pay for the return shipping fees. I conceded since he wasn't listening to me. I then called back to ask him to cancel it once again, but he was not available. I then talked to another salesperson to see if he could help me, but he stated that only Barry could help and then transfered me to customer service.

The agent there stated that it was too late to cancel and I will just have to call back for an RMA number once I received the package. I told him that it just happened, but he stated once again that there was nothing that he could do. A few days later I tried contacting Fotoconnection and spoke to an agent in the cutomer service department about refusing the order - and if that was the best way to get my money back. He stated that I can refuse the package, but I will be charged a 15% restocking fee for any returns as stated on their website. I tried explaining that it was not what I wanted and that Barry refused to listen to me. He stated that he can send me more free stuff as an incentive to keep the package but that if I returned it, there would be a fee. I asked to speak to a manager and he told me that there wasn't one on duty. I asked him to have his manager call me back.

After waiting a few hours, I tried calling Barry again, to see if he could help me, but he just transfered me to the Customer Service department. I talked to Reginald Walker, who it turns out was a manager, and he claims that I should have taken more action and that there was nothing he could do. He did state that he could refund me the $50 in commision that Barry was going to make on my sale, but that I was going to be charged the restocking fee. So now I am going to have to pay a 15% restocking fee on an order that I did not authorize.

I will now have to pay approximately $154 for the restocking fee, and I'm not even sure if the lens is a true Nikkor lens. I contacted Nikon and they stated that any company stating different models from their company is talking about gray-market goods.

Diana of Mumbai OTHER (05/07/08)
I asked a friend to purchase a camera for me as fotoconnection.com does not accept international credit cards. Their website offers a seemingly great deal. You will also notice that it clearly mentions thats 'whats in the packages' is Panasonic DMC-FZ18K Lumix 8.1 MP Digital Camera with 18x Optical Zoom, Intelligent Auto Technology, 28mm Wide-Angle LEICA Lens and 2.5 Diagonal LCD in Black (included with the main item plus all the items below): Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery Pack Battery Charger USB Cable A/V Cable Lens Cap Lens Hood & Adaptor Wrist Strap Software CD-ROM (Lumix Simple Viewer, PhotofunStudio, SILKYPIX Developer Studio, ArcSoft MediaImpression, ArcSoft PanoramaMaker USB Driver) User Guide

BUT soon after placing the order and giving the credit card details we got a call from TOM insisting that there is no battery provided with the pack. TOM kindly agrees to provide abattery for $ 79 only/- WOW. Except when we receive the package the manual states that as part of the standard accessories is SURPRISE SURPRISE YES YOU GUESSED IT THE BATTERY THAT WE PAID $79 FOR.

Now I assume that since I paid $79 additionally I should have got 2 batteries right? But no. TOM tells me 'forget the other battery' and if you want your money back i'll give you a dollar. Not only that but the Full size tripod thats part of the package is a actually a MINI 6in high it fits on my palm. YAY. So tell me what action can be taken against such a company? How is it still functioning after all the complaints against it?

Karen of Portland OR (04/25/08)
I placed an online order for the Canon 40D Wedding Package and was later contacted by Sam who said he needed to confirm my credit card because they'd had some issues with fraud recently. Now I see how ironic that statement was. He proceeded to bully me into 'upgrades', including different lenses, a 5-yr. warranty, and a few add-ons. When the package arrived I immediately noticed the cheap replacements and called the company. The 2 upgraded lenses together were $901 cheaper than the ones in the package and the filter kits listed online are $598 for 2 and the ones I received were $19.99 for 2. At first they were willing to work with me and do some exchanges, but the more I talked to them the ruder they got and more demanding. I got Jonathan, who claimed to be the manager, on the phone and he said they'd take some stuff back in exchange for an L-series lens.

Then I found out from the BBB website that they have a laundry list of complaints and their products are all grey market, refurbished, or damaged so I decided that returning everything would be the best thing to do. So I called to request their required RMA form to return everything and was hung up on...twice. When I called back the next day I got Danny on the phone who also screamed at me to quit tying up the phones and just return it, and when I threatened court action his response was bring it. He had also claimed to be the manager. Later that day they called me. It was a guy named Jess who said he'd spoken with me the day before about an L-series lens. When I told him I'd spoken with Jonathan the day before he said that he was Jonathan and that Jess was his middle name. Can you get any more sketchy?

Now I'm being told that the warranty is non-returnable (even though I called the company it's through and they said it remains unregistered until I fill it out and send it in) and that there is a mandatory 15% restocking fee that would amount to around $400 on my order. Those 2 things alone would swindle me out of $900! I did end up with an RMA form and faxed it in but have not gotten a response and I doubt I will.

The packages I paid for was $2,895.95 and at this point it would be a miracle to get any of it back. I will return the package, but I have to wait until I receive the other lens. The tracking number says it should have been delivered yesterday but there was no sign of it. So I'll send it all back with or without an RMA number and make sure they have to sign to receive it.

They advertise on there website a Sharp lc-46d43u lcd tv in 1080i.So I bought it. It really is a 720i. They outright lied and I fell for it. Can you help? I also never got the free dvd player I was told I was gonna get. Thank You

I am out over $1300 dollars and they said there is nothing they can do.

Order a package camera kit Nikon D40 with several accessories included. I was forced to call and be subjected to high pressure sales pitch in order to get the camera shipped. I declined to purchase overpriced accessories. The camera was shipped but the Battery Grip included in the package was not shipped. The first phone call resulted in more high pressure sales tactics. I still did not purchase overpriced accessories. I was told they would get the grip shipped. No grip was received, The second time I contacted them I was told I didn't pay for the grip. I contacted them again by phone and was told to quit calling, I was not getting the grip. I have filed a Consumer complaint with the BBB and will post on every website until I receive the item I paid for. If you are thinking of purchasing from FotoConnection or any of the shell companies they operate, do your home work first and then go to your local camera store and make your purchase.

Battery grip is advertised on Fotoconnection website for $179 and was included in the package I purchased. Never shipped.

George of Los Angeles CA (02/20/08)
I ordered a camera and lens package on 12/1/07. I got a call a couple of weeks later from a rude salesman asking me to upgrade the battery and charger and to change glass lenses from plastic. Hah. I told him no thanks, keep the order as is. No camera ever came, so I called back and spoke to a more genial person who said it was back-ordered and should ship out in 2 weeks. Later, still no camera; so then I called them to cancel. They very rudely confirmed that my order was canceled, and then hung up on me. That's when I read this consumer affairs website with all the complaints, so I called Visa to make sure they wouldn't get paid. Visa said to get either a cancellation # or confirmation email to use in case of a dispute.

I called fotoconnection back, and they flatly refused to send an email, and then the guy gave me a cancellation number he obviously made up on the spot. I repeated my request for an email 6 times, and finally he threatened to charge my credit card anyway, then he hung up on me. These people are criminals and slime balls. If you have an order with them, start the dispute effort now with your credit card company and make notes of everything. Good luck.

no damage yet, but my credit card is being held hostage by these slimeballs and they could charge it at any time.

Karen of Houston TX (01/14/08)
I purchased an Olympus Stylus Camera 790 SW 7.1 Digital Camera in blue on 12/30/07. The web site stated the camera was in stock and would be sent in 2 days. On 1/3/08, I received a call from Jay stating they were ready to ship, but needed to verify my credit card and proceeded to sell me more products for the camera. He stated the battery that comes with the Olympus is a temporary battery and only last 15 minutes, but for $49 I could get a 4 hour battery and a quick charger. I asked what kind of charger comes with the camera - and the response was an overnight charger. Also, if I purchased now he would express ship the camera and I would receive it in 2-3 days, on Tuesday, 1/8/08. The camera arrived UPS ground on Friday, 1/11/08. The blue camera ordered was not in the box, but a silver one was. The actual Olympus Box contained a camera, a charger and 4 hour battery. I contacted Olympus directly and was told those items come with the camera and they are not to be sold seperately. I was scammed by Foto Connection. They sent the wrong camera, charged me for products that were already included with the camera from Olympus, were dishonest regarding the shipping, and customer service will not return my call. I plan to also register a complaint to the NY BBB. I am sorry I did not check out their service record before purchasing the camers. I am feeling scammed!

I am out $49 for items automatically included by the manufacturer in the camera package. I paid for items in addition to what comes with the camera and did not receive them. I've also spent time and felt aggrivation of placing phone calls at all times of their business hours to get someone to answer the phone, which has not happened.

Bruce of Atascocita TX (01/07/08)
A 10-day return policy is not enough time to get the product and test it. I purchased a camera as a gift for my wife for Christmas, and by the time she opened the gift it was past the 10-day return deadline. The camera does not work, and they will not take it back or replace it.

E of Meno Falls WI (12/17/07)
Nearly 5 months of trying to get the correct camera ordered from fotoconnection.com Their 800 number loops you on hold for several cycles. No human contact-response. Local FOX news was not successful with them either. A company that I will never do business with again!

Sean of Santa Fe NM (12/13/07)
I called and ordered a digital camera Nikon d80 kit with two lenses and other items. I was conned into buying a better upgrade; unfortunately I did so. After researching the web, I found that the better lens was cheaper by $300 dollars everywhere else. I called and complained and asked for the original package to be sent. They said they could not because it had been shipped. I received the package and the second better lens was not even in the package. I called and they would only send me the original lens at an extra expense of $200. They said that the package price was only worth so much and this was an upgrade. There is more to the story--but I have been really taken advantage of and paid way too much and treated badly with no way to get my money back. These people are rude, mean and won't talk to you. They hang up on you, too!

Over payment, lied to and false advertising leading to further payment to get my money back from them. They would not give me the true amount of money they owed me, as it continued to be diminished by the package deal.

William of Redmond WA (12/13/07)
I purchased this camera and SD card through fotoconnection's website. The camera came with a long life battery and quick charger. Jay from FotoConnection called me to tell me that the battery that came with the camera was only temporary, and that I needed to buy a long life battery, and I also needed to buy a quick start charger. When I told him that the website showed that the camera came with a long life battery and quick charger, he started to reduce the price of those items. When I told him to cancel the order, he said he would throw them in for free.

I ordered the Lexar SD 2GB 133-380 Professional Series 133x secure digital card; they sent some cheap replacement. When I called them they said that they didn't have the one that I ordered, but the one they sent me would work. They also overcharged me $10.98 with no documentation of the extra charge. I will dispute the charge with VISA. From my personal experience they are out to cheat, lie and steal from their customers.

I told the customer service rep that I wanted to return the SD card, and he said that I was stupid.

R. of Los Angeles CA (12/11/07)
On th 27th of November 2007, I placed an on-line order #256435, via the FotoConnection web site, for a Panasonic DMC FZ8(Black), Digital Camera, 7.2mgp. I charged the order on my Amex Business card. I immediately received an online confirmation of my order approval. I received a second email from FotoConnection the following day, 11-28-2007, indicating that I had to call a (800), number and verify my identity and shipping address ASAP, or my ordered could be canceled or delayed. I called the (800) number and was connected to a fast talking salesman who attempted to sell more products, extended warranties, Data cards, and other accessories. I declined the sales offers and indicated that I simply wanted the camera. My order was confirmed, as was my shipping address.

I received the camera 12-11-2007 at the wrong address...the camera was the wrong color, (Silver). I was billed for a cleaning kit, tripod, and camera case that I did not order nor did I want. The total came to $267.95, nearly $50.00 over what I had ordered. Fotoconnection did everything wrong....and all to their financial benefit. I spent (1) hour on the phone, enduring transfers, hangups, and rude, unprofessional treatment. I am reporting FotoConnection to Amerian Express, and anyone else who will take a report. I am a retired LAPD Detective Supervisor who recognizes a fraudulent operation when I see one...and I assure you, based on my 35 years in Law Enforcement, FotoConnection and its staff are a group of criminals, cons, and shiesters. I warn all within sight, DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH FOTOCONNECTION OF New York....They are Crooks!

Jerry of Lincoln CA (12/03/07)
Fotoconnection is very slow to fill orders UNTIL they call you and try to tell you lies about the product(s) you ordered. The so-called sales persons try to intimidate you with 'upselling' you on products for your purchase that you do not need. (Mostly the item IS included with the product.) Furthermore, they CALL you under FALSE and MISLEADING statements then leap into their 'pitch'. In the meantime your product is NOT shipped. LAST YEAR they advertised a product as in stock, and when I ordered it they called and tried to have me add other items. When I refused they then told me the product I wanted would NOT be available until after Christmas. (I should have learned my lesson then!) PAY A BIT MORE-AND GET GREAT SERVICE FROM A RELIABLE SITE.

Because of their call they ruined a surprise gift--even after I let them know when I ordered it. These people are scum!

James of Atlanta GA (11/28/07)
I ordered a panasonic camcorder from this site as one of many listed, but with a favorable price and seemingly functional web site. Two days later I received an email requesting confirmation of the order. It became immediately apparent that this was a ploy to make additional sales, batteries etc.

I became concerned. After a brief google search,I realized I was in for trouble with similar and worse stories from numerous customers. I had to cancel my mastercard to feel I could adequately cancel my order with this company. The public needs to be warned of their consistent, surprisingly lengthy, bad behavior.

Cem of Yorktown Heights NY (11/28/07)
I placed an SLR camera order with Fotoconnection on Nov-26-07. I noticed that my order was not shipped 48 hours later. I started reading about Fotoconnection on your website and decided to cancel my order. I spoke to a customer rep and i he told me the order is not shipped yet. I told him that i want to Cancel my order. His answer was Good Luck. I called my credit card company to let them know not to accept the charges from Fotoconnection. They told me it can be a dispute only after the charges hit my account.

Chuck of Suffolk VA (11/26/07)
I went to fotoconnection.com on Friday November 23, 2007. I was looking for a Sony DSC-W80/B camera and this was the best deal out there, so I ordered one. On Sunday November 25, 2007, I received an e-mail from a Victor at 1-800-457-0889 ext 2044. I called this Victor back and was told about upgrades, and how I need a battery and also the USA version. This was never stated on the website, so I asked to cancel my order. I was told that it would be canceled and that I should receive an e-mail. After I got off the phone, I sent an e-mail to support@fotoconnection.com about my conversation.

On Monday November 26, 2007, I received an e-mail stating that they could not cancel because it had been shipped. I called the 1-800 number again and was told the same thing and that there was no record of me asking for the order to be canceled. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that one would be available in about 1-2 hours.

I called UPS to see about intercepting this package and was told by them just to refuse it. I called the 1-800 number at fotoconnection about getting this order stopped and was told that it has been shipped, and that I would be charged a 15% restocking fee for sending it back. I am already in contact with my credit card company along with the BBB and state attorney's office for New York. But, I feel that with all of the complaints of similar situations that something more needs to be done. It is a basic bait and switch scam, and they need to be stopped. It seems like they either overcharge more to get you to add on items, or they charge you for re-stocking fees. How can they do this and get away with it?

Brent of Seattle WA (11/26/07)
My credit card was charged by Fotoconnection.com against my will for $218.62. I have spent over 8 hours of my time trying to resolve the issue. I sent a letter to them detailing the problems of my having ordered a camera only to be told it does not come with battery or charger.  I asked to cancel and got routed to various departments.  I also found that the website says the camera does come with battery and charger--but only after I was strong-armed into buying the battery and charger. I called again and spoke with Frank who said he was the manger, and that there was nothing he could do. I told him I either want the extra stuff from the order canceled, or I want the whole order canceled. He told me this was not possible since it was already shipped. I presume that was a lie as well; he did not have a tracking number for my shipment yet, and it was less than 5 minutes since placing the order.

They continued to charge my credit card and ship the unwanted merchandise. Currently, I am attempting to return the merchandise, but they want me to sign a release form that they can charge me unreasonable restocking fees and such. I am refusing to sign this and that disqualifies me for a refund. On 11/15 the shipment popped up in my email. This was 2 days after demanding that my credit card not be charged and items not shipped. On 11/26 I received an obviously used camera. It was not in the original factory sealed box as described on the website. I don't know what I paid 'extra' for. All items were used, scratched. The camera had some unknown sticky substance on the side. I have contacted Amex to register a complaint and will seek legal action against FotoConnection.com.

Robert of Deland FL (11/16/07)
I ordered a DSLR from fotoconnection this AM. It is my Christmas present from my mother so I used her credit card. 45 minutes later a sales rep from fotoconnection called and wanted to speak to my mother. I thought it was a routine verification so I put my mother on the phone. I heard you say Yes I ordered it several times and then she started getting flustered so I got on an extension.

The slimeball was trying to say I had forgotten to order a battery with the camera (I double checked the web site and the battery is listed as being included in the box). I told him to cancel the order and had my mother also tell him to cancel the order. He informed me there would be a 30% cancellation fee. I told him to cancel the order again, and he started demanding that my mother put her husband (deceased) on the phone. I was furious and hung up the phone.

I e-mailed their complaint department just in case this rep was a bad apple and they wanted to re-examine their procedures. They e-mailed me back with no apology and informed me they could not accept a cancellation via e-mail.

Needless to say I will never do business with this company again.

I placed an order through FotoConnection's website for a Nikon D40 camera. The order was placed on 09/23/07 with a 2 week delivery schedule. I called today 10/12/07 to check on the status of the order. I was informed by James that my order was an overseas order and that it would take more time. I asked what he meant by overseas order and he said that it was a Japanese camera. He then attempted to sell me a more expensive American camera.

Nowhere on the website nor in my indivdual order does Fotoconnection disclose that they are sending me a camera that uses Japanese language. I feel that it was a ploy to lure the consumer in at a lower price and then when the consumer is receiving a good in a language that isn't their's they try to sell you the higher price item. All of this information should be disclosed on the website or in my order.

Fotoconnection charged my credit card for a product that I did not buy. I am asking for a credit to my card currently.

Marlene of New York NY (09/18/07)
The company lies about the pricing of their products and will call to get you to purchase more. They get business by being the lowest in the search engines when in fact they will make you add on about 100 more worth of product. In addition, they refused to cancel my order. I e-mailed and called the company to cancel. They gave me a very hard time in trying to up sell me. They shipped without my permission even though I told them to cancel.

When you e-mail to cancel they will tell you that a phone call must be made to cancel. Reason being, they have no way to track if the person actually called so the consumer can't take legal action. They will claim the consumer never called.
