Cancelled an order, notified my credit card company. I am being bombarded by telephone calls, only to have their hold backround music, nobody on the line. Messages left the same manner. Calls come in every minute, sometimes on my second line leaving a message of on hold music.

How can a company as such exist ? Research on the internet is full of complaints about this company, I don't understand why this scam company can be allowed to conduct such a foul type of business in this country of ours!

I have to turn my cell phone off because of the harassment from this company!

Kim of Ventura CA (12/23/08)
ordered online, instock item, very good price Placed order. no confirmation sent via e-mail, but stated online that it wuold. 1 week laer I checked online nothing processed. approx 1 week later I received a call, they waid they had an inccorrect zip code to get credit card authorization. (I copied the page I sent in as anon order, this was not true, at tht time they asked about ordering addtional accessories. I told them I do not have the budget. we are set. He said it woudl be shipped that day.

I have been watching my deliveries, nothing has arrived, so I went back to the web site, ( i had reggistered an e-mail and password whenI placed my order, it now whows backorderd. I call today Dec 23rd they tell me tht is tru it is a japanese model, I said the web site still shows the item in stock, they said that is the us model, which is not what I ordered. I disagreed and asked to speak to a supervisor, now I am on hold for a good 20 minutes. I had asked the prior rep why I received a call and was not told about the japanese item vs the us model? He said he did not know why. The web site does not say if you click this item it is not in stock, he replied the web site is being updated. It takes time, I just got off hold, the rep is now telling me the zip code issue is standard polciy to verify, I have never had this done before, oh well, he also said he is sorry I asked to cancel the order, he said o.k., i asked why I had not received any confirmations by e-mail, he siad perhaps they are stuck in spam. I said to him, this is very odd that almost word for word the things he is saying fit other complaints, almost verbatim. Again, he said he is sorry i feel that way. I would never due business with anyone in the furtur online, without 1st checking out bbb on them. and searching the internet for complaints. This is horrible.

1st no gift for my 4 boys, or atleast in time for christmass.

Christine of Cocoa FL (12/19/08)
I ordered a camera from Broadway Photo for my daughter for Christmas on November 14. According to the website the camera was in stock. A week later I received an e-mail stating that my order was on backorder. I went to their website and it still stated that the camera I had ordered was in stock. I called Broadway Photo and their Customer Service rep stated that the website just needed to be updated. My order was expected to be shipped by Dec. 16. On December 17 I once again called Broadway Photo and they stated that they expected my camera to ship in 3-4 weeks!!!! I mentioned to the Customer Service rep that their website still showed that the item was in stock. He could not explain that.

While sitting on hold I began surfing the web for a new source for this camera. I found the camera on Amazon for the same price (Amazon had lowered their price). I told the Customer service rep to cancel my order that I had also done some research on the web and considered their company to be a huge scam. I have ordered the camera from Amazon and expect it tomorrow. I would never recommend anyone deal with Broadway Photo, I wish I had done my research on them before I had placed my order and not after. Lessons learned, but I got lucky they did not get a dime from me and I still got a good deal, and the camera.

J, of Sicklerville NJ (11/27/08)
My wife and I decided to purchase a camera for our daughter and son-in law. We placed a limit of $200 for the purchase and I set to work selecting a camera. On November 25th I placed an order for a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3K Digital Cameras, plus an extra battery and a memory card from Broadway camera all for under $200 and got an email confirmation. The next day I received a second email stating that they needed to speak with me to confirm the order, but I was busy outside and didnt call.

That evening I received a call from a representative of Broadway Camera, ostensibly to confirm the order, but actually to attempt to upgrade it. He tried to talk me into purchasing more memory and a better battery but I told him we were already at the $200 limit we had set for the gift. Then he dropped the BOMB. He told me the camera ordered was grey market and in addition to not having a US warrantee, the manual and the camera menus would be in Japanese.

I told him I considered his website advertising to be deceptive since it made no mention of this being a grey market camera. He responded that it was clearly stated in their online company policy that they offered grey market goods. I immediately cancelled the order. The good news was that I was able to purchase a DMC-TZ4K from Ritz camera for just under $200 and know them to be very reputable.

Frank of Lower Burrell PA (07/09/08)
On July 5, I placed an order for a digital SLR camera body. The next day I received an email requesting I call to verify the order, which I did on July 7. After several attempts, I finally spoke with a sales representative who asked for confirmation of the shipping information. He then informed me that the camera I ordered was imported, but not for the US market (which I presumed was a grey market item.) He then tried to sale the extras - spare battery, lenses, filters, etc; items which I did not want to purchase nor did I need. After I informed him that I only wanted the camera, he re-visited the foreign import issue.

Usually, a grey market Item just means that it is not covered by a US warranty. He told me that this was not the case and that the camera was completely different than the camera that was imported for the US Market. Among the list of items was inferior construction, non english menus, battery with a life of approximately 30 minutes (information conveniently omitted from the item description). He also mentioned accessories that were not available with this camera - even though these accessories were listed on the site as included. Of Course he did have the US model which he would be happy to sell me ($500.00 more than the one advertised).

Unfortunately, I did not have access to the web site at the time to verify any of this information, so I did agree to purchase the US model - at the higher price. Once I did confirm the mis-representation, I tried to cancel the order via phone, but could not get through so I sent an email. I finally got through to a real person on July 9 (Adam Warren) at which point I had to request an RMA number. I will have to send a form to them before they will issue a return authorization. Companies I've dealt with in the past don't ask this, but I will happily send the form just to get the number.

At this point in time the problem appears to be resolved at a cost of $240.00, which includes a restocking fee and insurance.

I pay on line at broadwayphoto.com using AMEX $3679.00 US for a camera Nikon D3 & received a confirmation number. The confirmation webpage, claims that they will send you immediately an email with the details, but never send me nothing at all. Then I write many times to their email of customer service at

they advertise Sony camcorder Sony HVR-A1 in all magazines like Shuterburg for $1489 in October. I called them .They told me it is mistake.I ask them another about advertise camera. On Every camera they claim mistake in price. And all brands was import. I ask them if they have american brands of camcorder of SonyHVR-A1. they said ;yes, but it is $300 extra.

I order this camera plus they charge almost $100 for shiping and totaly I paid them $1998. They send instead of American brand Japan model Sony HVR-a1J. When I call them they convinced me that this is american model. I called USA Sony and ask them . I got answer from SonyUSA; Good afternoon, As per our discussion, the HVR-A1J is a Japanese model that is functionally equivalent to HVR-A1U.

The only difference is warranty service for HVR-A1J will not be provided in the US, the customer will have to pay. Please don't hesitate to call or contact as necessary, thanks for choosing Sony. Regards Matt POSC (Product Operation Support Center) 800-883-6817 Now I don't know what to do , I already spend almost month back and for talking with them . Aaron of Glendale CA (01/18/07)
I ordered Optoma EP710 DLP projector from Broadway Photo. The list price was 690.00 shipping. I added 42.95 for UPS 3day delivery. The total cost was 732.95. After I placed an order, I received an e-mail asking me to call them for confirmation. When I called in, an operator asked me if I wanted to purchase a carrying case. I mentioned that the case is a part of standard accessories. The operator said, it is not. He said the case costs 70.00 dollars. I thought the operator was trying to sell me a hard carry-on case or some sort. So I said O.K.

When I received the product, I found out that the case is a standard accessory item. And there came no receipt what so ever. I called my credit company and found that Broadway Photo took 812.94. This is 79.99 more than what I expected. It is clear that they charged an extra 80 dollars on a standard accessory. So I called for a refund, but the customer service, Nathan whom I spoke on the phone, said there were two packages--one with soft case, one without. Of course this was never mentioned on the web.

Broadway Photo advertises: All products we carry are factory fresh and come complete with all manufacturer supplied accessories and carry a 1 year labor, 90 day parts warranty. This seller lists no package, making the customers to believe that the product is same as the standard package. Indeed they say, the product comes with all manufacturer supplied accessories. I may not recover my 80.00 dollars, but I thought I had to report this in public.

Michael of Daly City CA (12/21/06)
I called to order a Nikon coolpix S7c camera and was told that it was a grey market camera being sold from overseas that came without proper accessories or warranty. The advertised price was $50 less than the camera actually costs with the legal accessories and warranty.

Ray of Boise ID (10/25/06)
The digital camera price offered on thier web site was not honored. The company claimed that was for the international version that had no english menus, and the US vrsion was $50 more. This was not mentioned on the product specs or any part of the web site that I could find.
