Stopping satellite service I was told that all equipment was to be returned. No problem, they would send packaging. However on piece of equipment was part of the dish on the roof, which is 2 stories up. I told the rep that I had a disability and could not retrieve the said piece of equipment. I was told that they would charge me 100 for the piece of equipment. He said that it was part of my contract. I told him that something as important as that should have been discussed completely when I was obtaining the service, which I got thru ATT. He said he was sorry, however that was part of the contract.

paid a reconnect fee and two months of service. Techs come out say 100 ft tall tree is preventing service, must upgrade to stronger dish. Get stronger dish ,but original receiver wont work with it, customer service states in order to get the correct receiver an additional 319.00 is needed , we ask for a post to the account, says that cant be done must be credit card, we ask for post of the difference since 199.50 was already posted to the account, says cant do that either must be entire 319. so we ask for cancellation and refund , response is "it must be sent via check 7 to 10 business days. I dont know if its the tech thats full of crap or DISH network, or both , buyers beware , get cable just pay the extra monthly bill , less hassle, now we have no tv and out 150.oo, you tell me screwed or not?

I have contacted the billing dept.many many times concerning the dish network DVR service. From the time I signed on with them I have asked that the unit be removed and to date it has not .I am charged for something i do not want !They tell me that for it to be romoved that I have to sign a 24 month contract with them.I did not want this service to start with ,I got it asked it be removed ,no thing has happened The economic hardship is being billed 5.98 for the service and 5.00 for the receiver gconnection. That comes to 10.98 plus taxes

I was calling various satellite companies to get pricing to see about getting a lower bill than cable. When I spoke to the woman at Dish, she encouraged me to set up an appointment (even though I stated I wanted to call others to price shop)just to get it in stating I could cancel if needed. She stated there would be a 49.95 processing fee IF I decided to go with them & that it would be refunded with a 50 Visa gift card. I called the next day to say that my cable company agreed to lower their price & nothing was said further. However, when I checked my credit card statement the 49.95 fee was on there. I called to ask why & the man said that is policy. I stated I had cancelled & he said I needed to do it within 24 hours. He then stated that whoever I spoke to certainly explained this to me on the phone. I asked to listen to the taped phone conversation to dispute his claim & he responded I was not allowed to listen to the taped recording. THIS PRACTICE IS VERY DECEPTIVE & I advise everyone to be aware of their schemes.

Back in 2007 when I signed up for Dish Network service, I was quoted a monthly fee of 72.99. And the monthly fee has increased to 105 with no additional channels or services added. I have complained to them when the bill arrives and on 2 separate occassions they have adjusted the total by 25.99 each for those 2 months.

james of rigby, ID July 22, 2009

two days after dish set up a standard dvr installation, I bought a plasma flat screen. I called dish and wanted to upgrade, they gave me an outragious price for upgrading, so I called back and talked to another rep. (a lady this time) and she told me that they could get me hooked up with a top 100 plus local channels plus hd. for 34.95 a month, so I said ok. when I called back a spanish speaking man said it would be 49.95 I argued with him and finally he said ok to the original deal, so I hung up after scheduling a delivery date, the next day I thought I would call to make sure he understood me and to my surprise he had me scheduled for a standard dvr again.

after argueing again with this rep. he said the lowest price he could go would be 59.95 and that is what I am paying now, so how do you go from 34.95 with HD, local channels and am. top 100 channels to 59.95. but they had me because my wife had already signed a 2 year contract with them for the original set up. they have you no matter what, then a local chanel was out and they said they would let us watch hallmark chanel for free, but I could not get it on the channel they told me so they told me they would upgrade the package to am. top 200 and let me watch hallmark for free that way and give me a rebate, never happened they just jerked me around until my first bill was over 112.00. /So needless to say I am not happy but what can I do...

Peter of Milpitas, CA July 1, 2009

End of April 2009 I moved from the house I sold to a temporary apartment. I called AT&T and told them about my move so that they would move my phone and internet service. At the same time I also canceled the dish network service. They told me that I would have to pay some early termination fee and that they would pick up the satellite tuner.

The bill for June still contained charges for dish network. So I called them again and they told me that this is a mistake and that they would reimburse me for these charges. Now in July they are still billing me for dish network and I still have the satellite tuner.

nancy of clayton, OK June 29, 2009

they do not send you a bill and they want you to pay the bill and they went up on the bill without telling us it went from 62.00 and it went up to 75.00 a month.and no bill

Janet of Morgantown, WV June 16, 2009

I signed up for a bundle (phone, dish, internet) package with Frontier phone and Dish Network. My bill is never consistant like other utility bills. The package advertized all three services for 34.99 each. However; my bill is ~ 150/month.

Laura of West Sacramento, CA June 15, 2009

In August 2008 I thought to make my life easier by signing up for Dish Network & ATT combined billing. What a mistake - When my Sept bill came it just had my cell service-no Dish Netwrk so I called and ATT explained it must be a timing issue. Oct came & it still wasn't on the bill so I called ATT & they were having "system issues". Called Dish for a technical issue & asked if I owed anything and was told no that all was well & they had been paid.

Late Oct I received a call from my boss that my employer had been paying the Dish account. I work for a huge global bank so it took awhile before it was noticed. Came back to work Nov 3rd & did a conference call with my employer's accounting area ATT & Dish and got nowhere-ATT refused to refund the sent and Dish & ATT refused to send me a statement outlining the charges. The only copy I ever saw was the copy my employer provided me as both ATT & Dish stated that they couldn't provide it due to "privacy issues". Privacy issues? this was my account!

I ended up writing a check to my employer for the amounts that they had paid. Nov 4 I spent an hour in the local ATT store while the rep there tried her best to resolve and got nowhere to split the billing & get me a statement. Late Nov my boss comes again to me and let me know that the problem was still continuing. I immediately cancelld both ATT & Dish as they could not resolve this & I was about to be fired from my job. Dish sent me a box to return my equipment and let me know that due to the horrendous service issue I had that I would not be charged a termination fee. I have never received a bill statement for any of the months that I actually received the service despite repeated requests.

Within 2 weeks of canceling I got repeated phone calls from Dish reps to sign up for service as I was such a good customer. Told them no not in this lifetime would I ever come back. 6 mos later I have just received a collection notice for early termination fees - I will never pay and as the abominable collection agency/Dish custmr svc still refuses to provide any statements for the months that I actually had service. Not sure who to go to about this issue as Public Utility commission investigated ATT & they then sent me a letter of apology and cancelled their collection of the early termination fee. The consequenses of not paying the 182 for early termination will be that it will end up on my credit report & hurt my score.
