Nezetta of Annapolis got quite a welcome to Maryland: Here's the the letter that I sent to the Motor Vehicle Administration investigators: TO: Dealer Licensing Investigator for Consumer Complaints SUBJ: Expiration of Tags (11 June 1999) RE: Versace Motors I purchased my car at Versace Motors on 28 Apr 99. At the time I had just become a Maryland resident (by way of Texas) only one day prior to my purchase. Last Thursday (3 Jun 99) I called to the Versace dealer and spoke with Jennifer. When I asked her if my tags had come in she stated that they had not, but that she would put in a request for them to be picked up the following morning. I called again the following evening (Friday, 4 Jun 99) and asked if my tags had arrived, again the answer was no. I called again on Saturday (5 Jun 99) and Sean stated that the tags would be there on Monday (7 Jun 99). I was fed up with the run around at this point, so I took off from work and went to Versace Motors to speak with one of the managers (Sean), only to be told the same exact story, but this time they promised to Fed-X the tags to my house by the next day. I called again on Wednesday (9 Jun 99), and again the same story. On Thursday(10 Jun 99), Jennifer called my house and told my mother that there was a problem getting my tags. My mother told her to call me at work. She did, only for me to find out that they had a problem getting the tags from the MVA. I'm still not clear on that story. I must have called to Versace Motors at least 7 times on Thursday and they kept putting me on hold and passing me around to different people who claimed that they didn't know what I was talking about because my tags were there. I then called the MVA and the customer service department told me that the car was registered there in my name, but no one had applied for tags. This was at 4.30pm yesterday (Thurs, 10 Jun 99). I live in rural Annapolis, MD. I have no other transportation to my job in Rockville, MD. I have exhausted all of my resources at this point. Sincerely, Nezetta Nezetta tells us more of her travails. I was constantly being given the runaround on the telephone. Each time I asked for a manager I was given someone else who would tell me that they did not know what I was talking about. This went on for 7 consecutive days. One manager in particular (Alex), said to me, "If you didn't have bad credit you would not have come to us anyway. We did you a favor by letting you purchase a car from us!" I was extremely humiliated and angry listening to him talk to me that way. When I stated that I was going to call the investigators, he sarcastically replied, "You can do that if you want, I don't care. It will take them at least 2 months to do anything anyway, so then what are you going to do?" At that point I was in near tears. I believed that what he was saying could be true...until I actually did report the incident to the investigators. The investigators jumped right on the case after assessing the fact that the dealership was in violation of not applying for tags for my car before the expiration date. Report Your Experience
