I've been in sub prime car sales for over 20 years and used to work at Central Kia. You should be on the other end and see what it takes to put a sub prime customer in a car. Most of the customers that are taken out of a car either can't or won't provide the documents REQUIRED by the bank or have lied about their income or their job time. Most of the sub prime customers have NEVER paid any one in their life , but it is our job to work to get them approved. The average coonsumer has no idea how hard it is to put one of these deals together. Customers think these banks are dying to loan them money ....they are not.

It is a juggling act to find a car that we own cheap enough so that we can fit in the huge aquisition fees that the banks charge. OR..we must buy down the rate because the TX limit is 18% and most times we must seek financing out of state and their rates are much higher. The worst part is that some of these customers think no matter how poorly they have managed their bills in the past , that they deserve ZERO down financing.

On top of that they think they can buy a 21k SUV for 200.00 per month. They just don't understand that it takes a very low interest rate from the bank to get a payment that low on a new vehicle. People that pay their bills on time deserve and get great rates. We try hard to put people in cars and get them a second chance giving them the benefit of the doubt and want to believe that they will pay our lenders and so we take a risk and put them in a vehicle while we shop their credit and try to get the deal bought. If we don't take this gamble with a sub prime customer..someone else would and we may as well close the doors.

I had to finally get out of the business for health reasons...but I would like to say that for every bad salesperson, there are 5 that will never lie to their customers and are good hard working people that may work a 12 hour shift and if they sell nothing...they make nothing. Add to that people will come into the dealership, you take the credit , work the desk and hound the finance dept. to get your customer a loan from a bank. Then you work numbers, come to an agreement, have the car cleaned, all the paperwork completed and maybe spend 2-4 hours devoting yourself entirely just to have the customer bring it back the next day and say naa. I've changed my mind or worse they will refuse to bring in the necessary documents (proof of income, residence, etc.) They will beg you to put them in the car and to trust them, then sure as you do, they'll take a week to get insurance, this holds up the salesperson's money for days sometimes weeks. THERE ARE TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY.

I bought a new car last night from Central Kia of Plano. I did not take delivery of the car (thank God) and did not get copies of the contract or any other paperwork. I realized this morning that, while my payments where where I wanted them, the term of the loan is at 75 months instead of 60 at over 8% interest! I have stellar credit!! This is making my loan well over 5,000 more than then salesperson and I agreed to. Thank God I have not driven it off the lot yet, I am backing out of this tomorrow. What a scam! Slick willie extraordinaire.

I have unverifiable income, the bank would be stupid to approve this loan. If the dealership refuses my back out, the loan is still unprocessed, I will have to contact the lienholder and let them know to deny the loan on account of unverifiable income (which I have).

bait and switch is all i need to say. also they don't do what they say and if you don't pick over the paperwork with a fine tooth comb, they'll not take anything off the car and will also take your rebate.  i'm am now upside down on the car by 5000. don't buy from these people.

I was approved at the Kia dealership for a 2007 Kia Optima, agreed to all of the terms and signed all of the paperwork(contract, title application)which they gave me no copies of on a Friday evening. The finance officer told me to come back the next day or following Monday to pick up my copies of the paperwork and the other set of keys to the vehicle.

When I came in the next day the salesman that I worked with told me that the finance officer was still working on it and he would call me Monday. I was confused as to what he was working on but was assured everything was fine. When I did receive a call from the finance officer that Monday he told me for the payments I would be paying on that car, a 2007, he could get me into a 2009 that I should come up there and look. When I got there I expressed to him that I would prefer not get into a newer car because of the price difference and my budget.I was then told that basically they had lied to me the whole time. They said that the bank would only finance me on a brand new vehicle not the used one that they had placed me in, the wehicle that I had already signed the contract for and taken possesion of.

They then asked if I would like to look at the 2009 vehicles which I would be paying 50 or more per month on than I agreed to pay in the first place. Either that or I needed to find a ride home. I drove more than 13 miles to the dealership in the car I had just bought from them thinking it was mine and ended up stranded there when they took the keys from me. I signed a contract, if I'm held to the contract shouldn't the dealership be held to it as well?

I first called the dealership and gave them my info for pre-approval. After being told to come in because they could definitely work with me I was greeted and dealt with by Alex Barbosa. After a long while Alex returned saying he could only work with me if I had a co-signer. My aunt in Mt. Pleasant (over 120 miles away) would co-sign for me and come down the next day.

After receiving this info and a fax of her license I was able to leave the lot with a used Chevy Aveo with 17000 or so miles. I was expecting to return the next day with my aunt to sign the paperwork, but the next day after waiting almost 2 hrs we were told the paperwork could not be found! This was very upsetting to my aunt who drove down, but she was told by the Director that the papers would personally be driven, or FEDEXed, or Whatever was necessary to make things right. Monday came and went and nothing.

I have called the dealership daily for 2 to 3 weeks and always get the run around. I leave a message but get no call back. The temporary plate has come time for replacement so I call the dealership and finally get to talk to a Daniel in the Financing Department who today tells me the Dealership cant work with me, the Alex Barbosa lied and was fired, the car needs to be returned today, and then precedes to tell me he knows a guy down the street who can definitely get me into a used car today!!!

The Car is being used daily for transportation and now needs to be replaced impromptu. I am going to have to miss work to take care of getting another car. My wife was waiting to get this car to get a new job which she has now and it seems my guaranteed transportation for her is going away.
