Alison of Wheatley Heights, NY, writes:

I entered the gas station because gas was advertised at $1.15 for regular.  I asked the attendant which pump was $1.15 because the prices were covered up.  He told me and proceeded to pump the gas.  When my tank did not get full I asked for the price again.  He said $1.15.

I got out of my car to check the numbers on the pump and it said $1.23 for regular.  When I questioned him about it, the gas man threw gasoline at me.

I called the police and they came down.  I took pictures of the gas pumps with the prices hidden and the police officers will vouch about the "switching" of the prices.  They said that I would have to prove about the gas being thrown and since there were no witnesses to that I can't complain about that but I would like to register my complaint about the gas prices.

The officers said they would testify as to the hiding of the gas prices.

I was late for work and  I now don't trust any gas sign and with gas prices being as high as they are i am almost afraid to get gas and ask about the prices.

Allison needs to file a complaint with the Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs, which regulates gas stations.
