Santa Monica VW

B.K. of Los Angeles writes:

All my problems stated when i leased a brand new VW Jetta from Santa Monica VW back in 1995. The lease was for a miserable 4 years.

Currently the car has been returned to VW since its lease was up.but as an unsatisfied consumer, my car spent more time in the dealer for repairs than for me to use. I have a stack of repair order forms which were performed on this vehicle which you do not think should have been done on a new car.

I reported my concern to the Better Business Bureau. They set me up for an arbitration hearing in which I could not prove my case with all my evidence. It was frustrating, I felt like there is no way to win.

Up to now I still feel I shoul be able to collect something from them or put a dent in their business. Can you help me??

Unfortunately, Mr. K, when you lease or buy a car there is no promise that it will provide you with transportation.  As long as VW honored the warranty, there is not much you can do at this point.  Oh, you could buy another VW Jetta, paint it yellow and put plastic lemons all over it and park it in front of the dealership everyday, or until the dealer got an injunction, but what good would that do?

Our advice?  Be glad the damned thing is finally gone.  Take a run on the beach and forget about it.
